KTM 390 is a powerful beast machine but due to some creatures who own it from their dad's or family money known as "Chapris" it's reputation have drastically gone down in market as people don't want themselves to be labelled as Chapris 😢😢

They should go with another cylinder to extract more power with the same capacity , this would increase the cost significantly . They can't extract more out of that poor 310cc .

I've owned Apache RR310 for more than a year now & the power it has is just sufficient for the City rides & occasional highway rides or touring. Bike is really reliable & has the best value proposition in it's segment.
The BMW is Basically an apache RR 310
Tvs has the worlds worst service so no thanks..

I own the new rc 200 and man i love it to the core, its a beast machine, the straight pulls are super awesome, dont think of the chappris while buying it, buy it for your own pleasure and budget comfort

The fact that KTM is able to churn out 10hp more than the TVS/BMW with just the difference of just 60cc is a massive win for the Austrians. With this motor TVS can easily manage to bring out 5-6 more horses and then actually the owners will have two options which are not so black and white

Why isn't duke even a bit close to rr310
That's why the KTM motor is known for frequent engine rebuilds as the engines don't last very long. The TVS engines in addition to having much longer life also have much better low end torque. Yes the RC is a more fun bike if you love to rip the bike but in the real world the TVS is a lot easier to ride with better riding ergonomics, much more tractable engine having still plenty of performance.

In my opinion, the 310 has its own character and does not need to replicate the KTM formula of being a flat out racer.
Yeah man acceleration is not important on a bike that's aimed for acceleration
@@sameersachan8427 actually it's about 'performance' among other things since it will barely spend any time on a drag strip in the real world but then tunnel vision is a common problem these days.

A sports bike has only one function - to go fast, no matter how you rationalize it's not gonna change the fact that bmw is a slow ass bike.

@@sathyaki more like 0-170 kmph goes to rc 390, after that the limiter kicks in and ninja 300 overtakes given its a long stretch of road. Professional drag races don't last that long though..
TBH No-one needs to watch this video to know the result. The 390 will smoke the 310, no questions asked.

I think for the price (Not BMW) the RR310 Apache is more VFM and performance too is quite adequate.. Quite happy with my RR310❤

There is no way now ,or even in 50 years, that a Bmw or any other motorcycle company in the world that will defeat the KTMs , in a quarter mile drag, The fact that u even thought that the TVS motor can out last a KTM is a sin there itself.
yeah u are right , even superduke managed to beat h2r in 0-100 . KTMs are torque monsters , they'll simply eat their competitors in a matter of secs

Well I have a different perspective. The BMW needs wider availability & cheaper service costs to be actually bought & seen on the roads. Till such time KTM 🤘🏽

KTM is pure fun. From the feel that you get when you first sit to the acceleration. 310RR is a looker. It's a testament of what can be achieved if you give a free hand to your designers. With a180 mm ground clearance TVS/BMW need to tone down the seating agression a bit and position this as a sports tourer rather than a track bike.
KTM is powerful machine. BMW need to provide more power to compete. But a second's difference and reaching to 135kmph in 15 seconds is not that bad. But if you race these two then definitely KTM wins. I would love to see Kawasaki 300 vs BMW GT310R vs KTM RC390
One second difference in quater mile ja considered quite a defeat in Drag races of similar bikes

BMW doing 133 is no big deal... I maxed out my Duke 200 @ 133 several times on my recent ride down south. BMW definitely needs an engine with more firepower like the KTM 390!
1 sec gap with a 10 bhp and 10 nm less powered engine which is 2kg heavier than the competitor is highly impressive actually.

A suggestion - do a rolling race as well and not always stop start.

Considering the BMW G310 is a rebadged Apache 310RR, it's good to see it coming so close to the KTM performance wise.
Why don't you make videos of actual Power and Torque available in the wheels.
Please do a race test between new ktm Duke 390 vs TVS rtr 310.

I felt it is more about the driver sometimes, not the bike itself. The KTM driver in the first race seems to be much better with the race. While BHP do play role, gear shift, acceleration control play even more imp role. But very nicely done, and kudos to Autocar !
Do it again with the updated rr310
For me i feel, the Rider who is more experienced will provide a better result. If you see the KTM rider in race 1 gave a better result with bmw in race 2, although the bmw has less P2W ratio than KTM

It's alright. Price difference between the base Apache and RC makes it a crazy value proposition.

The KTM is in different league. The 300cc twin cylinders can give it better competition
If speed is the criteria then definitely ktm, but the sheer riding pleasure would go to the bmw( a beautiful machine)

RC 390 lost it's character, and I don't know why BMW had to copy the Apache RR 310.. They could have made their own bike.. Interceptor or the Continental GT should have been included, as an extra cylinder, power and torque would make some difference...
Current gen Rc 390 is better than ever!
It's much more usable in the city and more comfortable in the highways..

i own rr310 since feb 2018 i am one of the first lot owners trust me i never faced any issues with the bike and the 310 is getting heavier and heavier i think tvs has to come back to its roots the bike has increased 5-8 kgs post bs6 era so tvs should tune the engine a little better but sometimes less is more aint it i mean that 313cc mill is already a fire spitter in traffic if the engine is any more stressed than that im sure we will face huge reliability issues taking into account the lower tier tvs service so nope man just a sweet little elegant pooch of a machine is all i need (umm bmw may have premium service but i am said the parts cost a frickin bomb there i went for the fuel pump and its 20% costlier than already pricy as f tvs 😑😑😑)
and some people are in a genjutsu that bmw have no vibrations but dude take your rr310 and change the finger followers it costs like 4k but making a world of difference our tvs service center guys dont dare to openup the engine so do it only if you have a good and reliable service center which takes care of your machine
after all these years the only issue i faced is fuel pump leaking that too because i left the bike on side stand for too long period and not properly attended to the bike except that and a gear sensor issue i had a fun and safe ride except that bullshit rear brake which is getting stuck sometimes but never happens when i take it to service center for inspection it is suggested always use combi brake it is when i only use rear brake prolongedly i am facing this issue no solution from tvs yet expecting some better work from tvs on that
Why don't you conduct the drag race like carwow? This format doesn't seem engaging at all. You barely ever show the start of the race. It's like reading from a newspaper. Give some gap after you read out the specs, make it more engaging, keep a rolling race and brake test if possible.. just a feedback
since 2013 or 2014.. its the KTM..
RR310 will never be a match for RC390 with its current engine. If they want to challenge RC390 then they need to focus on a new engine with higher displacement and maybe then things could be much better for RR310
