I wish they would make a pacific theatre version of this game with America vs Japan in places like Iwo Jima. There was enough land combat to make an entire game first mission could be Peal Harbor trying to buy time for the ships to move out, the doctrines could be awesome as well. US could have Enterprise support who sends bombers and spotting aircraft/supplies, the Missouri providing bombardment and demoralizing abilities (referring to it being the site of surrender by Japan), or the marines who would support similarly to rangers with heavy weapons and increased HP and possibly movement buffs. Japan could have the Yamato with morale boosts and bombardment seeing as it was the pride of the fleet, Shinano aircraft carrier with Kamikaze and strafing runs, or the Banzai doctrine which gives temporary immunity to suppression, increased firing rates, unit replenishment or replacement, or even giving stealth to certain infantry units.
I think this is the only cinematic that truly showed the silence that was between the 1st waves and the 2nd waves of landing troops. The silence as the germans are reloading their weapons but then out on that field the americans hiding behind the X's until the time is right to run. Scary to think about it.
Why do you think there was truly a complete silence? It’s not like everyone was reloading at the same time. Even so, there would have been fairly constant suppressing fire so the Americans could move up the beach. I’ve never heard anyone mention any prolonged silence. With that said, this game does seem to be uniquely accurate. Also, btw, those structures are called Czech hedgehogs, not “X’s.”
WOW!!, I was not expecting you to play this, but then again, I am also not surprised, but still, this is a really good game, really amazing job with this part, keep doing a wonderful job, I look forward to more.
There is a British campaign in this game from the Opposing Fronts expansion. There isn't a Soviet campaign in this game but in the game's sequel, Company of Heroes 2, the Soviets are the main campaign.
it is a captain, but of the first wave aka another company. nobody really cares about him. its kind of cool that the commander of the company was the last person of his company to die
I usually try to end my videos/missions in a 'big explosion' if possible. Since the mission is about to end and I won't need my units anymore, I mark 'the end' using a large explosion/destruction on the enemy including friendly fire. It just something fun I do, sorry if you get offended.
Is it possible to play this on core 2 duo? I have already finished playing COH 2 on it and it ran somewhat smoothly on low settings and now I am looking to play this on it and all playable RTS on core 2 duo
Since you were able to run CoH2, then you shouldn't have problems running CoH1 as well since the system requirements are less demanding than CoH2. Just don't expect to run it smoothly on max graphics.
It has both. The campaign and skirmish mode (vs ai) is offline, while the multiplayer is online, you can set up or join matches from 1 to 8 players pvp, coop pvp or coop vs ai. The game is run on Steam as well as the multiplayer servers. You can get it on Steam here: store.steampowered.com/app/228200/Company_of_Heroes/ I'm not too sure if the multiplayer is still active as most people would have move on to the sequel. However I still enjoy the campaign, skirmish mode and even coop with friends vs the ai.
Not sure which mission is first, cause I manage to install all the 4 expension for CH 1? I now the D-day is in 1944. I think I have to go randomly by years.
Invasion of Normandy is the first campaign for COH (from the base game), then Operation Market Garden and Liberation of Caen are the next campaigns from the first expansion (Opposing Fronts), Tiger Ace, Causeway and Falaise Pocket are from the second expansion (Tales of Valor). Each campaign is of its own story, do you can technically do them in any order, however I recommend playing in their release order or just follow the campaigns as listed in the game menu.
Usually when the mission is about to end, I try to create a large explosion/destruction as a 'grand finale', this can include friendly fire. Its just something I do, I hope you don't get offended. Since the mission is about to end, the units aren't needed anymore.
@@redalert2havoc Ah ok. Don't worry, I'm not offended, I just tend to keep my units in games alive, even if it is not necessary. But that's just my playstyle, so everything is ok :)
The campaign and skirmish vs Ai should be offline, while the multiplayer(pvp and coop vs Ai) is online. However I'm running this through Steam, so you may still need to be online to run it, but it might still work offline if your run Steam in offline mode. I haven't tested this, so I'll not sure if this works. I known for CoH2, the campaign and skirmish doesn't seem to work offline anymore. Ever since they update the game to 64bit, all the game modes seems to need to connect to the game servers. Not sure if this has been fixed yet.
*i never get tired playing this game over and over again*
The best ww2 strategy game forever 😄
Agreed 👍🏻

Havent played this game in AGES, but the sound effects and voice acting is top tier even for today's standards in video games

Those X''s are called Tank Traps.
@Ember kinda ironic how only like 2 made it to the beach and it gave the Americans cover

One of the best game in the history of games
Thanks for coming back in action
Oh, so that's how the cinematic looks if the graphics are maxed.
I wish they made a modern war of this. Just like the Afghanistan was since 2001.
Geez, this RTS game is intense!
Finaly, you uploaded another video :), any way i have a question is there Soviet and British Campaing in this game?

I've seen it in your Red Alert 3 videos, but is the mass friendly fire in the end of the mission *REALLY* necessary?... 🤨
