One of my favorite jokes people make about this is that Falin's character died and she had to reroll a new character and that's how Senshi joins the party.
Or Shuro's player _finally_ got tired of playing a samurai in a western fantasy setting (Isn't there always one, in every group?), so he retired the character and rolled up Senshi. In that scenario, Falin is just an NPC the DM tied into Laios' and Marcille's backstory so they have motivation to rescue her. 😉
Ryoko Kui recently finished the manga for this adaptation just before Baldur's Gate 3 came out, she set her priorities straight haha She has created such a marvellous, imaginative world within Delicious in Dungeon and I'm sure you'll love it a lot! It's confirmed to be 24 episodes, released week by week and I'm very excited for more!

Wow, first time im hearing the Eng dub and its honestly pretty decent. Usually I cant stand dubs after i've watched something subbed, but this is totally different
you're in for a real treat with this one, I'm another of the manga completionists going around to see how folks are enjoying the flavors here. What's got me interested in following your journey is your room, first off, you got Anduril, Flame of the West, and a Ranger's Starter Sword back there, these are good signs~ Second, you're reacting to the dub, which a lot of folks ain't doing, and doing with embedded audio, and not just like.. the sound of it playing.. *on speakers.. **_somewhere nearby._* The voice cast does a great job in this, and features Netflix One Piece's Nami, Emily Rudd, voicing Marcille's unique personality, and doing a great job. Ryoko Kui is a terrific and new kind of mangaka, and she's a big fan of proper Western fantasy and storytelling, so your experience with CR will finally be rewarded! (I personally can't stand D&D stuff, it's just not in my blood) Her take on the biodiversity and beating heart of the dungeon ecosystem is just one of the coolest things of recent decades, and seeped into my own writing (I'll be famous someday, I hope you react to the series when it's out!) See, and I am CHOKING myself to stop from even leading details that could be spoilers too, our party here is the centerpiece of the journey, not so much the goal they've set. Laios is strong, fearless, and a good guy, but he's prone to getting excited or not picking up on social cues, so its a new kind of Fighter. Marci is a skilled mage, and an academic, but she's also not a stranger to dungeoning; she's freaking out mostly because she misses her best friend Falin, and is scared she might not be able to rescue her in time, but also the whole eating monsters thing, its new and its gonna take some getting used to. Chilchuk is actually older than Laios, and is a strict professional when it comes to traps, locks, and secrets, so he's prone to pride, but also learns to be patient with the rest of the planet eventually. He's also married, you find out, has a wife and three daughters. Senshi is the most level-headed, being a traditionalist and a frontiersman, but it's kind of all he knows, so he's mostly sticking to the role of keeping the piece, and minding their nutrition properly... _but he does have his story of his own to tell._ You'll see small clues and stories as to their reasoning, personality definitions, and even aspirations as we go. If the fates are kind, and these 24 scheduled episodes are just season 1, we will be getting the full story with the second season, because there's PLENTY more to go after the dragon is located, and the main quest confronted. Stick with it, and I'll make sure to provide a safe, enthusiastic running commentary as you go, there's stuff only shown in the manga that is extra details that are just too fun to not share~ The

You don't really get that in ep 1, but there are definitely hints! I'm wildly excited for the series as someone who loves D&D and cooking from cookbooks as well! I have several themed books from my favorite fandoms and reference them all the time! So this series is something I'm wildly excited for! Happy to have you along for the journey!
