  • After I complete a painting, it's really not done until I take the time to add my final layers of protective and color enhancing acrylic mediums. This video shows you my process. It's just one way to do it. If you find anything useful, please leave me a comment, or like the video. For additional content, feel free to subscribe and get a new video every week or two. Thanks and happy painting.

    Fascinating Claude! At once it appears like a lot of steps, yet it tells me you value the finished product. Thank you for sharing. I'll definitely be experimenting now.

    Thank you so much for this and your previous videos. I'm just starting to play with acrylic painting on paper and mounting on a wood panel. The detailed explanation and demonstration are invaluable.

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am definitely going to be doing this in the future as I do love the finish that encaustics give and this is one way to achieve it without the fuss.

    Thank you for this information. Great video. Will a hot climate affect a 'cold wax' finish? I live in Texas.

      You would have to read the can. of cold wax for high and low temperature ranges. But, my work has not had any issues here in humid New Jersey.

    Thank you so much for these videos!
    I have a question though, I work with metallics a lot and I don't know what to coat them with. I don't want them to be super glossy either. Do you think the mixture of matte medium and gloss would work?

    • @claudelarsonart
      @claudelarsonart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try it and see if you like the results - I agree metallic and gloss medium are a lot of shine.

    Could you use a cold wax finish on an acrylic painting done on a canvas?
    I’m thinking the wood is stable but a canvas has slight flexibility. So has anyone tried it?
    Maybe with these seven layers it might work?

      I have done the seven layers on canvas and paper, but not on canvas. I am not sure the cold wax would hold up with the flexible surface.
