Polo feels most VFM when it comes to ownership as it packs in almost all the feature one needs and definitely the most reliable and fun to drive engine. Rear seat space is the only give away.
When are we going to stop comparing the 10 year old car with newer cars. I just hate the fact that it's been 3 and a half year the new generation polo was launched in other markets.And Volkswagen India knows how much the Indian market loves polo then too I don't know what's going on with them. I'm just disappointed in them and slightly angry.
Bro, the updated Polo which you see you in EU market & elsewhere is over 4m in length.Hence, in ordern to utilize the excise duty lineancy for sub 4m vehicles, it was in the part of their 2.0 plan to knock it down to India spec with MQB A0 IN platform. My guess is it should be launched by this year end or first quarter of 2022.
You can put in all the bells and whistles you want in a car. But if the drive doesn't give you happiness then I don't feel it's worth buying. And that's why we have 3 VW's in our house 😂
i have tata iturbo, on the highway its really a great vehicle, i usually get millaige of 20-21 on the highway. if i drive it in hilly condition i get 18.5-19 overall with AC on. easily reaches 100-110 in a relaxed 2000-2200 RPM itself. i'm replying late but this is my experience.
The safety crash test rating should be released when the car is launched. This is a big issue in India. Cars like Seltos barely got 3 star safety rating and that too after a year of its launch. Customers seem cheated because its priced close to 20 lacs when even a car like Tiago is 5 star rated and cost 6-7 lacs only.
If VW ever updates the Polo just like the European facelifted version of it, the price will definitely go up but the package will be unbeatable in terms of everything. The looks, features and it will most probably rip the enthusiast intelligent buyer market! P.S we still have a 2012 Polo TDI which has been driven over 120,000 KMS and there is still 0 hesitancy in the performance whatsoever.
Polo guys will buy Polos. Housewives and pensioners will consider the iMT i20. Don't forget that for the price of a new Bajaj Pulsar,you could easily boost the VW to 150hp or more.
I think tata didn't want this to affect the nexon sales considering the fact that it's the same engine. Else they would've included 6 gears in the altroz. But the exterior of the altroz looks good. The interior looks better in the i20.
I wish volkswagon get over with early 2000's looking interior of polo. It really needs a refresh just to compete with modern day hatchbacks. .. Again looks are subjective but i believe most of us will not deny this.

I have it's bigger brother Golf GTi never lets me down. Did 270km top speed and 5000kms on a 6 day road trip. Only issues are you got to take care of the DSG and services on time with genuine parts.
Tata has focused on desgin. Full on marks for that infact it's the most stylish car compared to the two. But what about the engine. Pls work on the top class engine like polo 🙏as well.

Booked the ‘new’ Turbo from Polo. The test drive experience is what is tiding me through a two month wait with zero updates from the company and showroom over the past three weeks.
@@karanhemani1468 I think it has to do with the factory resets and also VW India actually merged with Skoda India, so both companies are now controlled by Skoda in India. They turned the production capacity down about a year ago. There is no clarification as to why, we know that both the companies have been preparing to launch their new models in India. The new models have to be redesigned a little with the tax condition and rapid technological development in auto sector in India. In short, factories habe been nerfed for a while.
Indian market cares less about safety, bring on unwanted features like ambient lighting, push button start, sunroof, fancy lights, 2 - 3 star safety ratings.. that is properly understood by hyundai. 1. Tire pressure monitoring 2. Auto dimming rear view mirror These 2 are must. Many people don't get the importance of this.
ALTROZ is the overall satisfying package with price , space , ambient features, looks, not the best but decent turbo engine. Also 5 ⭐ global ncap , it's the value for money .
Polo is the best in terms of driving pleasure, no doubt about it. But, the one we get in India is old design; face lifted versions have been introduced in Europe few years back which looks modern. So the Polo India is not value for money if the looks and features are being concerned.
Thanks for the much needed comparison. I agree with all the statistics but not with mileage. i20 returning 20kmpl is far from truth. Max it will be 14-15kmpl but 20kmpl is exaggerated.
No doubt hyundai engines are very refined. At the same time offering turbo in only automatic is a intelligent move so as to avoid headache of keeping the TURBO engine in correct rpm during low speed city commute. But unnecessary addition of tech (not all the buyers r running for gysmo) right from the lower models and highly polarising design and hefty price are big big no for it.... similarly everything goes gud for tata but engine performance n refinement is questionable...and then polo- it is so much performance orientated that interior space, design and comfort are not taken care of.....

There is a reason why TATA detuned its engines... MILEAGE. Tata knows that customer does not want to race every second on the road but to enjoy the ride with little bit of fun.
all tata cars, be it Altras or harrier or even the Jags and Landrovers for that mater, their engine performance is always inferior to their competitors.. don't know what is it with Tata engine department.
Hands down Altroz Doesn't feel like a budget car The quality is on par with the big Germans, Audio quality, space, styling and that solid thunk and overall solid feeling Engines enough for most of the buyers, and if you need Punch, the larger displacement makes it safer to unlock more power and torque via a simple stage 1+ tune
Prices of i20 should be justifiable by Hyundai. I own the elite i20 1.2 2016 edition, and trust me, the features in that price segment is what they should have lauched this car. Over confidence kills sometimes. 1.2 naturally aspirated petrol is way smoother than 1.0 turbo petrol.
Seeing how bigger Hyundai/Kia vehicles get a 3 star rating barely, I have doubts i20 will fare any better. Polo is the package to go for an enthusiast and if you want a modern car with bit of fun Altroz makes more sense. i20 is overpriced for what it is

Yeah, the Polo and the I-10 nios are much more fun than an I20 turbo, or an Altroz turbo.
Couldn't agree more.. bought my tsi last year..when it came out..just the most pleasure while driving..pure and simple..no gimmicks like hyundai..

Believe me Polo and I20 turbo are more fun to drive than an Altroz. Altroz aren't so fun to drive.
Turbo variants are for driving pleasure, so Polo has no comparison here.

Polo is noisy and uncomfortable and is very old compared to the others, everything else is great
*IMO the all black interior of i20 doesnt work too well , it makes people feel claustrophobic*
