For an actor, being told that Dame Julie Andrews actually knows you and is a fan of your work, has got to be one of the most wonderful things you could possibly hear!
I love how Julie always speaks so highly of her first husband Tony Walton. The frantic change of their lives and the way Julie was being mobbed and pursued took a toll on their marriage and it didn’t survive. However whenever you see either of them talk of the other there is always great affection and respect on both sides.
Julie Andrews is an International Treasure. There will never be anyone else quite like her again. She continues to be cherished and loved for the beautiful rare gem she is.
Even Sir Ian is in complete awe of Julie, remembering her starring in Educating Archie when he was a little boy. She is a monumental star over decades.
I loved how Julie started telling her stories in mid-conversations with "Excuse me".. That's just so respectful.. I would love to work with her one day.
What an amazing show. Every person is a stunning performer, and they all respect each other with sincerity. It was like a family reunion with people who didn't even know they were related yet.
Not everyone can say that was working on Broadway with Richard Burton in a play and then Mr. Disney offered a gig backstage. OMG. Julie is a goddessssssssssss!!!!!
I love this show, absolutely LOVE it. And this episode is perhaps my favorite one - not because it's the funniest, but because its such a wonderful conversation
Ian McKellen talking about his pub in Limehouse made me so happy. I've walked past it many times living in Limehouse and my mum actually saw him once at the gp.
Julie Andrews is the definition of WOMAN! I mean, could she be more lovely, powerful, beautiful, educated, well-mannered, sweet. . . the list is endless. I love her.
@@jools01, Julie is articulate, she doesn't stumble and you can tell she puts work into her career. Doesn't play with her hair and is well-poised. Aniston should invest in speaking skills, given that it's her job.
My 3rd time to watch that show! Which impresses me most, that these mid time two icons in business, Jennifer and Reese get really that little because of their real respect to Dame Julie Andrews! 😎
“She’s now an equal woman and we face each other” that’s so beautiful. Many times parents don’t want to let them children grow up and try to boss them around. Sometimes parents feel superior to their adult children and think they are still in control.
12.42 😂 we'll do our best as well...just try to fall forward to catch her (prevent her drowning). Terrifyingly low level safety 😮 but great story. Then Julie says she was a sweet girl and Graham goes "was" 😂. Love the quick wit. The Graham Norton show never fails to cheer me up 😊. Many thanks for uploading.
There'se an obvious question missing in this Firends quiz: "What song does Phoebe sing to calm Rachel down in the very first episode?" How come they had Julie Andrews there and did not ask that???
Yes there are two beautiful actresses whom I adore on the couch.. But they do not compare to Dame Julie.. This woman is stunning ,forever such a lady ❤❤❤ she is definitely one of my favourite things. 😘🙌❤

Julie Andrews is the embodiment of grace and humility❤
she is satanist
she opened the door of that satanic reign
probably she is not bad at all but she mentioned over and over the damn last name
Class and elegance too! She’s still so beautiful
Yeah, true 😊
@@gonzaloarvietti4920 that sounds amazing I really really hope she did do that
A true lady
For an actor, being told that Dame Julie Andrews actually knows you and is a fan of your work, has got to be one of the most wonderful things you could possibly hear!
But remembering how good an actress she is....
One of the best ones. No divas, no one hogging the limelight, just a great sofa full of great people.
Exactly what I thought. Such a lovely episode with lovely guests.

The frantic change of their lives and the way Julie was being mobbed and pursued took a toll on their marriage and it didn’t survive. However whenever you see either of them talk of the other there is always great affection and respect on both sides.
And Tony Walton passed away from complications from a stroke aged 87 on March 2 this year.
Speaks volumes of the HONORABLE CHARACTER they both possess.
Tony was my dads first cousin. They were the original Waltons...lol
Love her. Looks good for her age...Kid daughter thought he mother was Marry Poppins😅
@@LPJack02wow... thank you for the update 👍
It's actually therapeutic and so satisfying to Julie Andrews speak. She so so lovely 😍

I wish every audio book came in Julie Andrew's voice. So therapeutic.

When he (Ian) was a little boy. What is Julie's Diet and Health regime?
Amazing
@@motiveintentionsincerity to be fair.. Julie Andrews was in her teens too... maybe 13 or 14 something like that

I love how Julie always seems to make a point to know about what the others on the couch are working on and compliment them 😭😭
It’s so cute, anytime she’s doing an interview she’s always so interested with the interviewer or her peers it’s so cute to see how humble she is 😩
Sir Ian McKellen is such an underrated actor and a brilliant man.
Also, did anyone catches Jen's face when the girl on the chair told about her FRIENDS story? So sweet and proves that the show was iconic worldwide.
My favorite story from the big red chair! 💗
This was one of the kindest and most heartwarming episodes I have seen from graham Norton show, an absolute gem
I like wine but with the sound of a cocktail
I now understand why Graham and Carrie Fisher were besties
I know this is years later but this comment is perfection.
The way she spoke of her first husband Tony was so wholesome and nice 😍
09:53 RIP Tony Walton (October 24, 1934 - March 2, 2022), aged 87
You will be remembered as a legend.

Graham : “Your daughter Emma”
And Jen goes as Rachel did : Aaw Emma!!! (Just for real Friends Fans ) 😂😂🥰
This episode is just heart warming. Everyone in it is perfect.

I agree OP, thoroughly heartwarming and has left me with warm fuzzies
At 32:32 when Jen puts her hand up graham calls her Rachel 😂 😂

Julie Andrews; such grace, humility and charm! What a lady xxxx
After the queen passes away please give her crown (and everything that comes with it) to Julie Andrews

I love how when they really started letting Julie talk, you could hear a pin drop in that audience.
