I was always the go to roller way back in the day... I was always surprised by how few people could roll an acceptable joint/blunt. I didn't roll for many years because I quit yet the first time was for a special occasion and I rolled my first cross-joint. I recently came into a large amount of good flower and started rolling daily again for the first time in 10 years. It REALLY is an art but also a trade, and never realized it until this month.
When I was a kid in the late sixties we used to have joint rolling contests in the neighborhood. I wasn't very athletic so this was something I was very good at! I was regularly called on to roll up other people's weed! That was the extent of my athletic abilities!!

40-50k in California is pretty decent, depending on where you live. Add in the perks that Snoop shares with him probably adds 10-15k in value. If Snoop came out and said “I also provide healthcare, 401k match, and life insurance”, this career is more than adequate to cover a very comfortable life in most of CA.

I’d assume it’s not that simple. He probably also keeps inventory of the various strains Snoop has, and probably rolls blunts specifically for certain things. Snoop needs something to get the creative juices going? Let’s mix this and this. Had a rough day and wants to calm down? Here’s some sleepy time weed. Has friends coming over? This guy probably knows what types of blunts the guests like, and is rolling blunts tailored to each guest.
The comparison to a sommelier sounds really accurate. A personal sommelier’s job is to keep a proper stock of various wines, and make wine selections based on things like when/where they will drink, who is coming over, what’s being eaten, etc. It’s more like they are providing a tailored experience as opposed to ‘guy who pours the wine’, much like how I’d imagine the blunt roller is a lot more than ‘guy puts weed in paper’.
