Michael Oliver, an old man doesn't respect his age when it comes to officiating Arsenal matches. Due to hate for Arsenal he's tried to stand in the path of the young kid, Skelly. Great news for Arsenal! Oliver should be ashamed! He shouldn't be officiating any Arsenal matches ever again!
I think they can and not just arsenal games. The mistake soo bad it makes it seem like he has a conflict of interest so he may let other teams win to affect arsenal. Not saying that’s what he does but this would be the arsenal lawyers argument.
@ which is why it’s a very tentative question . But cannot have one person controlling a title challenge just because he has personal biases . Please see the pod that both Sophie at Highbury squad and Talksport have done with referee royalty Keith W . He has suggested that Oliver has become too arrogant . So what is the middle ground ?
@sofiane7161 Case law??? Premier League football is a sporting competition... Crazed fans overlook that it's just a competition to which the rules of society rarely apply. The competition provides *recourse* against refereeing decisions, which is why Arsenal could appeal the red card. The competition does not/cannot indemnify clubs who argue a decision cost them points, because the results are final at the final whistle... Arsenal winning/losing with 10 men is not evidence that Arsenal would have won with eleven.
Lee Judges is correct. Oliver always tends to apply the letter of the law to Arsenal players and not to others. He can no longer be allowed to referee Arsenal matches.
The problem is that trust has been broken. It is a fundamental premise in football that a referee is trusted by all parties to officiate without prejudice and favour. Oliver has not been seen to do that where Arsenal are concerned. I believe Oliver has crossed the line with this appalling decision (not just bad but appalling). It is not just a poor decision, it has called into question his integrity as a referee, especially when seen alongside all the other questionable and controversial decisions he has given against Arsenal. In my view, Oliver's position as a referee is now untenable (especially at The Emirates) and he should be stood down.
The overreaction to this is crazy. Does no one remember macallistere pathetic red card last year against Bournemouth, nowhere near the overreaction and his foul was so feeble compared to Lewis skelly running his studs down the wolves players ankle. Arsenal fans for you 🤦🏼♂️
@@jmc4226 I think you miss the point..Have you ever heard the straw that broke the camel back? This ref has a track record of contentious decisions against Arsenal. He has different rules for Arsenal players ..this is a FACT.
@ the blame lies with VAR on this one in my opinion. A ref can make a mistake in a split second but for VAR to watch this replay 5 times in slow motion and 5 different angles it’s on them
I’ve seen a lot of bad takes from Arsenal fans on this one. Referees don’t see the world in slow motion and from six angles. It looked like a red and he gave a red. VAR is at fault for not calling him over.
Well cleared or not it was a stone wall red card ... studs down the shin onto the foot, red card all day long ... Curtis Jones had a red card at Spurs last season for far less and that stood ... This reversal is yet another inconsistency in the game
@larrys-story-time So the refs are against Arsenal and against Liverpool, and the Premier League is against City...so who do "they" want to win the league???
Theyve rescinded it for all the wrong reasons. I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall during that meeting, listening to the real reasons they decided to rescind.
Micheal Oliver clearly is an Arsenal hater and should never be allowed to officiate any match involving Arsenal. He deliberately puts Arsenal in difficult positions anytime he officiates their their match. He should be banned for the remaining season for poor officiating at the same time.
I am proud ..this effing cheat needs to be exposed..we are not asking for any favours just to be treated like the other teams in the premiership..I’m fed up of hearing ..”this was unusual or this has never been seen b4”
We can all be very understanding and being big about it BUT IT HAS COST US POINTS then what. The only ones to come out of this debacle smelling of roses is the team for their resoluteness
@georgeadams1799 The problem with this logic is obvious - let's use the contentious Spurs vs Liverpool game last season. Liverpool argued the red card for Jones was harsh, and they argued about the wrongly disallowed goal, but they could never argue that those two incidents directly caused Matip to score an own goal. The fact Arsenal won with 10 men actually weakens any argument about dropping points due to red cards.
Arsenal fans are the biggest complainers/babies whenever ANY decision goes against them. 💯 The type of fans that will be praising Arteta when things are going good and condemn him and call for his resignation when they get a couple of bad results. Pathetic fanbase OR maybe it's the buffoons all over social media 🤷🏽♂️
@olumakindebolarinwa People like you have lost perspective that Premier League football is just a sporting competition. Premier League has as much effect on/importance to your life as you allow it to.
Listen I agree that was one of the worst calls of ALL time and that was definitely not a red. However, I’m not sure why Rob is still waiting for an apology. The game you’re looking for is long gone. This is all about gambling and making $$$. You’re dealing with Americans now with these big betting corporations. Admission of guilt opens up the entire PGMOL, EPL, FA, and gambling industry for massive lawsuits. There will NEVER ever be apologies or any kind of admission of guilt.
I agree but I also feel arsenal have a case against Oliver not reffing another game as he may now have a personal conflict of interest. He has done himself with this decision.
@CaesarAlexander This has nothing to do with Americans and gambling. The English game has a system of recourse but not indemnification, meaning clubs can appeal certain outcomes, but not the result itself or points linked to the result. If the results themself could be appealed, then gambling companies would be exposed having paid out one result, then being challenged by punters to pay out on the result post-challenge.
@@HabitualLine-Stepperthis has everything to do with gambling industry now. It’s the same thing with US sport leagues too. Refs will make the most controversial calls, the league will say they agree it should have been a different call but they will NEVER admit that they were wrong nor made a mistake which is what Rob is waiting for. He’s waiting for PGMOL to say that they made a mistake…. That will never happen in this lifetime. Again, admission of guilt opens up all the corporations across multiple nations for lawsuits, corruption, etc.
@CaesarAlexander You are mixing up you language and making no sense. The red card was overturned - that is an admission that a mistake was made. Without proof, what you are insinuating is that the red card decision was deliberately wrong, and that VAR deliberately upheld the decision, and that both are guilty of deliberately wronging Arsenal. To prove your point wrong, betting only respects the final whistle - if you bet on an Arsenal red card, you would have won that bet, and the bookies would have paid out - do you see any bookies complaining?... Why not? Because the red card happened and was then rescinded... Maybe bookies will start taking bets on whether red cards will be rescinded.
