Great video man! 👍🏻 🇨🇦 me im looking for one just to get back to the launch if ever my motor cuts out on me. I got oars but i rather use trolling motor. 16foot aluminum 3 seats plus gas and 2 batteries. Plus wind and current like u said im afriad a 30 lbs wont be enough without running on 5 the whole time and only get 2,3 hrs out of it. Would still be good just to get to the shore and ask sombody to launch my boat at their property and help me out but if i had a strong enough one i could simply make it to the launch before dark lol
Very nice video. I would appreciate if you could share what trolling speed are you achieving with the center console boat equipped with the 71lb motor thanks Alberto
Ty I looked forever for a good clean video now I know I overspent I bought a motorguide x15 112 lbs 36 v for a 16’ forester welded aluminum with a 90 merc all decks are solid 1/2 ply ….well at least it’s not under lol 😂
Thanks for the video very helpful I have a 14 foot V bottom fiberglass skiff lightweight with a small 15 horse Evinrude outboard should I get a transom Mount or bow mount and is a 50 thrust 36 inch shaft enough?
A trolling motor is a great piece of equipment for any inshore fishing boat. There are a number of different motors on the market with all kinds of different features and options thus purchasing a trolling motor can be a challenging task. This video should help you in choosing a trolling motor that fits your needs and boat. #trollingmotor
hello i have a 10 foot flat bottom boat with a 50 pound thrust trolling motor i am useing it to go up river but it is slower then i would like my ? is will a 86 pound thrust motor make my boat faster i no i will need a 2end battery. i was told a trolling motor will only do 5 mph and a bigger trolling motor will not give you more speed its only for a bigger boat do to the more weight the boat is is this true. i will be buying a 86 pound thrust trolling motor soon hopefully for more speed
robert coates you will add more weight because that 86 pound thrust motor will need at least two and maybe three batteries. Also add the cost of the extra batteries.
I can't decide it's really hard.. I'm fixing to buy a bayboat and obviously I need a saltwater trolling motor but I want a foot pedal.. I'm going to be fishing 80% fresh and 20% salt any.. as a bass Fisher man I need my hands 100% what do I do...lol any pointers
if you are going into any salt water (even 20% of the time) you should get a salt water trolling motor. I recommend a foot control. I have my seat just high enough to use the foot control and cast my line at the same time. Im not stand, I'm sitting down controlling the motor with my foot.
Hand controlled is my choice because I can’t stand on one leg all day and fish as is required with a foot controlled motor. Also the wireless motor has to many things that can fail on them and repair cost is very high.
Hi, I have the foot control with the swivel seat. I do not stand at all. Its nice to sit and control the boat with your foot and cast your line at the same time.
A trolling motor is a tool that is primarily used for fishing where as the main motor is used to move the boat from point A to point B. A trolling motor runs off of batteries rather than gas; it is much quieter, it is generally mounted on the front of the boat which gives the operator a lot of control and it can be used in shallower water.
Wow
Why did you stopped with videos? You made pure quality video man. You should continue with this.

my personnel opinion would be to get a bow mount with foot control. This way your hands are free to fish while your foot control the motor.
Good video, some of us need all the advice we can take.
Excellent video, thanks
I was hoping you were going to give us an idea on how long a battery would last
Great video! Thanks!

What if you fish fresh and salt water?
why can't you use a salt water trolling motor in fresh water or can you?
Salt water models work anywhere.

What is the purpose of a trolling motor? Why is it a regular motor not enough?
