What a true legend.
Rengoku could never 1v1 Akaza unfortunatey. But he fufilied his duty. He didn't let anyone die. He died as a Hashira protecting the next generation. Rengoku was and still is the greatest embodiment of what it means to be a Hashira. He protected the next generation, he held off Akaza. He did his part. RIP you absolute beautiful demon slayer. He claimed ownership of his destiny and became it's ruler. He was a paragon to be certain. A true champion of the idea of self mastery and self acceptance. (Edit): I want to talk about how amazing this amv is the editing is spot on and Rengoku going through his flashback and remembering his motivation before fighting the impossible was the cherry on top. Needless to say, good job!

Kyojuro had the potential to surpass anyone in the demon corps (CAP only 4th place) !! 1: He was close to the realm (selfless state), he honed his spiritual force + sword skills by himself without guidance 2: His training was partially completed, he didn't get the full training so basically he wasn't 100% to his full potential (We never saw him performing all 9 forms, theory saying that he only knew some forms and one of them was the hardest--9th form : Rengoku ) 3: He almost made it to selfless state (which is what Akaza never made it through decades) *SPOILER* = massive jump in power scale 4: He blocked a full force attack by Akaza when the sun was rising (impressive feat when he got donut, and technically his spine was destroyed = it means he was paralyzed) **Akaza was surpised because he was sure Kyojuro would be dead after that attack, under the panic condition of the sun rising soon, I believe Akaza was going all out on that punch instead of toying him 5: His sword never chipped that means he mastered all his breathings to perfection (only a few forms) 6: His smile Kyojuro vs Giyu In manga, it took Tanjiro (Higonari Haruka "Not sun berathing, this dance is a modification based on Sun Breathing, thats why it's a different name" + Selfless state + Lengendary sword + training) and Giyu (Mark + training) => 2 Hashiras level with power up to take down Akaza !!
