@@clearlynotchloe I don’t know why mimo would apologize for a mother with all girls and 2 granddaughters being excited about a new gender baby. Take the projection somewhere else.
The story in itself made me so uncomfortable. Being from a culture, where male children are preferred to female children, i always knew no one was happy that i was a girl. I think, it might be really sad for your first two girls to hear this story and feel the same way I felt when my grandparents celebrated the birth of my brother and "were looking forward to a good news" when i was born.
You're projecting, at no point did she make it seem that girls are less valuable. The point is they already have lots of girls in the family, she had 5 daughters and 2 grand daughters, ofcourse she would want a boy. If they were 5 sons and 2 grandsons I am sure she would want a granddaughter!!! It's normal for people to want both sons AND daughters.
I... really don't like this. I kinda understand the sentiment but this subject is a bit tricky in some societies. You know, the whole "excitement" if it's a boy because of inheritance and raising him pampered only to burden him and use him when he grows up, and "disappointment" more like considering it a useless baby if it's a girl and raising her differently... To me the gender of the baby is like the color of their hair or the shape of their ears or the size of their foot. It's just an attribute. Important as it's linked to their identity, but that's it. I don't adhere to the whole gender reveal celebration thing. And I definitely don't feel any different whether a woman is pregnant with a boy or a girl. It's God's choice; how dare anyone be "disappointed" by a matter where literally nobody had a say except God? Like, it could've been that you get no baby at all. It was a favour that you got a baby (or your sister or your daughter or whoever had the baby). This is not a matter of "I like it" or "I don't like it" or "I want the other one" like we're not picking vegetables here 😅 or making a bouquet of every flower. You take what you got and you be thankful; but being happier if it's one gender than the other, to me personally, sounds very icky. The thing is English is not my 1st language and I realise my words may seem a bit aggressive but I promise I'm not being aggressive and I'm not pointing at you Mimo or you mom, I'm talking generally when I say you, and it's late and I'm too tired to think in english and write correctly so I'm just translating from my native language lol
Same...very icky to celebrate one over the other. I'm pregnant with my first, and it's a boy. And even though I felt like I'm a boy mom all my life, when I found out I felt like I wanted a girl too. Not for preference or anything, but both are a blessing in their own way. Honestly, I only wanted a boy because that's what I always envisioned for myself because of my personality. I also love everything blue 😂. But one reason I didn't want a girl is that I know the challenge of being a girl in our community and how everyone feels like they have a say in our choices. So if God grants me a girl for a second child, I know she'll have a brother to support her (I don't have siblings, so it hits hard)

These comment have completely misunderstood the story. The grandma was only upset because the WHOLE FAMILY was made up of girls. She wanted a boy for a change of pace. Lets say Mimo, her daughters, and her sister were all boys instead. Then the grandma wouldve been rooting for a girl. She just wanted a new experience in the family, and in this case, it just so happened that the experience is having a boy rather than a girl.
I personally find gender reveals pointless And people having gender reveals keep starting wild fires. Also what if your child is trans or something. But whatever you do you and be safe and don’t start fires
I feel like the term gender reveal is just a very new word because these are the kinds of stories that my mum told and I told and all the young people are now making it pretty spectacular… but back in the day it was quite common to use some kind of marker to indicate what gender the child was. We just didn’t use the word gender reveal….. and I say back in the day because I was born in the 70s
I’m pregnant right now and I’m hoping for a girl but that doesn’t mean if I have another boy I wouldn’t be excited or love him any different … I just want a happy n healthy baby BUT it would be nice to have a girl lol it’s never that serious ..
I’m not having children for a while yes, but when I do I want to do the cake reveal with a twist. I am going to assign each color of the rainbow a name and have it so it is also a name reveal

Reminds me of my dads mom She was so dissapointed wgen i was born and never clsimed me even tho i was only the second girl born after a my a cousin and my brother was born before us anyways
This reminded me, on Mothers Day (this year), we (me and my parents) visited a long time friend of theirs (since early 1985 they have known each other). Her daughter is having her first child and the daughter said that the doctor sent an email to the godmother-to-be about the babys gender, so the godmother-to-be made cupcakes for dessert which were dyed pink inside. Just wanted to share because it was quite cute story and she was so happy about it 😊 Also found out my mom never was interested finding out about me and my siblings gender (4 kids, 3 girls - 1 boy) until we were born LOL. She just thought it didn’t matter as long as we were alive and healthy 😂 funny enough, I ended up becoming life-long friend with a girl in middle school who's also the youngest in her family, but she's the opposite of me and my siblings 😂 she's the only girl (also 4 kids, 3 boys - 1 girl).
I’m going to have a lavender inside and confuse everyone and just have really intense font say “BABY” in the boldest size ever on top. Jk I have no kids
My mom did something along those lines (telling one thing to then reveal it's the other) for me lol. I am the oldest of the grandchildren on my mom's side and my granddad really wanted me to be a girl. When they got the reveal in the hospital she decided to call my grandparents and tell them I was a boy. When they arrived she could see that my granddad was a bit dissappointed, so my mom went like SIKE it's a girl! And his face changed completely.
I love that u tricked ur mom. Give her an opportunity to practice humility. And give her a SUPER serotonin BLAST TO THE FACE I HABE THE FIRST GRANDSON ME ME ME
I'm speaking as unwanted female child here, action speaks louder than words, if one wanted healthy baby then they will not react inequally when certain gender was mentioned. It's not people "reading into it too much", it's your "fans" invalidating unwanted children that's speaking up in the comment section, and maybe you're in denial too that your mom doesn't act as excited for both genders. And yes, it hurts knowing that you're not wanted, thanks! Edit: Some of y'all aren't the brightest bunch so I'll make it easier for you to understand. Me bringing up MY OWN EXPERIENCE is my way of trying to show you where I'm coming from. *Wanted or not wanted, knowing your parents expected you to be something/someone else will hurt.*
Bro her girls are very much wanted and why are you blaming other people for your family who couldn’t see your worth. There is nothing wrong with wanting one gender or the other child. They’re not talking about you in the video or unwanted children in general. It’s their own family thing so please stop comparing it to your own situation.
Miss gurl- There's nothing wrong in wanting a specific gender. Just cause your unwanted doesn't mean they are too cause Mimo's mom wanted a boy. Sorry that your parents don't love you, but seriously, it's already stated, in several videos in the past, the children are doing well, and they're clearly loved.
The sad fact is that there are 0 coutries in the world with a girl preference. I'm not kidding. The misogyny is crazy. Stay strong and f**k those misogynists in your life
For people saying “she wanted a boy cause patriarchy “ or whatever, it’s natural to wish for a child of different gender from what’s already in the family, doesn’t mean a girl would’ve been less loved.
I have two boys and I want a girl. We're still debating on having a third child because of the way the world is now. I want a girl to bond with the way my mom and I have never bonded and it doesn't help that a lot of boy clothes aren't cute in stores and are lacking compared to girl clothes. Don't get me wrong, I do bond with my sons and I know most likely our daughter will be a daddy's girl 😂.
Careful admitting you want a different gender. Some people on here are so pressed. 😂 they took a cute story and turned it into something it’s not. They made it seem like my mother is this evil person who has hatred for girls when in reality, she just wanted to experience what it was like raising a different gender.😭😭 and so did I but even if I had a girl, I still would’ve been happy and I still would’ve stopped at 3 kids. I love my girls. In fact, they are living their best life. And my mother loves all her grandbabies the same way.

It’s not like I wouldn’t have loved a third daughter any different than a son. And no, if I had a daughter, I still would’ve stopped at 3. 🤦🏻♀️ I personally think girls are a bigger blessing than boys 🤷🏻♀️ but I love my children all the same.
@@BakeMyDayMimo your response is lmao? That's so disappointing. Up untill now i have always liked your every post on my fyp. And you should understand i am not thinking about it too much. Some country and society has always treated baby girls as baggage. Some mothers are asked to kill their kids caz of their gender. Idk how you don’t see how your "funny" story can upset people. And i am actually the same age as your oldest daughter. I am not saying that you don’t love them equal or anything. I am sure you do. But for us your mother's expressions are too close to home. I had know i idea how you can reply saying lmao. I am so disheartened. You don’t have to be defensive about this just think of this whole story with a cool head. I am sure you will get it.
@@maishafarinzaman3172You are projecting your own negative experiences onto a silly story.
@@maishafarinzaman3172Not to mention making up stories in your head of what would have happened if mimo had boys.
That cake is extra moist!!! The glasses went straight through! And that looks super delicious ❤❤
That’s an awesome cake and sounds like an awesome pregnancy t-shirt!
My babies were born boy, girl, boy, but now I have 3 boys.
I’d rather people use cakes for their gender reveal parties than burn down another 10,000 acres of forest
every time ive gone to a gender reveal party i get it right! i’m really proud about that. lol i knew my cousin would be a girl i knew my middle school best friend would have a boy, and i knew my high school friend would have a girl. then my cousin, i knew she was going to have a girl too!!
I been going thru & watching all mimos vids to try n boost her views, her work is 😘🤌 chefs kiss & she deserves all the views!
❤️❤️
These comment have completely misunderstood the story. The grandma was only upset because the WHOLE FAMILY was made up of girls. She wanted a boy for a change of pace. Lets say Mimo, her daughters, and her sister were all boys instead. Then the grandma wouldve been rooting for a girl. She just wanted a new experience in the family, and in this case, it just so happened that the experience is having a boy rather than a girl.
I personally find gender reveals pointless And people having gender reveals keep starting wild fires. Also what if your child is trans or something. But whatever you do you and be safe and don’t start fires
Children shouldn't even be exposed into LGBT shit.
The ruffles turned out beautifully in this one, and for some reason I pictured the inside blue, so I was wrong.
You tricked me with those blue captions!!
This cake looks so beautiful and delicious
I’m not having children for a while yes, but when I do I want to do the cake reveal with a twist. I am going to assign each color of the rainbow a name and have it so it is also a name reveal
I kind of feel bad for her daughters
My daughters?! lol. They live the best life that I can possibly provide for them. No need to feel bad here. Yall reading way too much into this
You’re reading too far into it, calm down.
I guessed correctly! [For once.]
Good to know you've always been a troll to your fam. 😂
Omg not the placenta goggles!!! Also congratulations to the family of the new baby girl! 💕💕💕💕
Yummy! I love your channel so much! I have been watching you for so long. You inspire me so much. And one day, I hope to be like you. Also, I want to know some prosd cons with being a baker or having a baking account. Pin? Have a awesome day, hopefully you see this!
First instinct was girl🩷
i will always fight for women but its fun to have a guy to hang out with too, i dont blame her one bit.
Ooo that’s so pretty
(I guessed boy💙)
Idk about the other comments saying that how Mimo's mom was only happy for boys and what not.. but i don't think it's that deep.. i think Mimo's mom wanted a boy because she already had girls.. what's wrong with wanting to have both genders? that's what i don't understand in the comments. Mimo never stated that her mom didn't like girls and only preferred boys
This. Thank you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 some people projecting their trauma through my experience is just too much. My mom loved all her grandbabies the same. She just wanted to see what it was like to have a boy. Doesn’t mean she would’ve hated a girl😭😭😭
@@BakeMyDayMimo don't mention it girl! Some people just have negative thoughts as the first thing that pops into their heads🤦♀️🤷♀️.. i mean it didn't even cross my mind until i read the comments smh 💁♀️
By the way i love you Mimo 😍😍🥰 thnx for replying to my comment 🥰
I guessed right
Reminds me of my dads mom
She was so dissapointed wgen i was born and never clsimed me even tho i was only the second girl born after a my a cousin and my brother was born before us anyways
aunty mimo, you inspire me a lot! ❤
Stunning!!!!
Can you share what tips you are using ?
Is no one gonna talk about the SUPER WEIRD WAY THEY CUT THE CAKE. WITH GLASSES???
Girl armyyyyyyy. Infinite daughters! Lol
I think you were trying to throw us off with the writing mimo 😂
I knew it was pink!!!. Even when you were dropping out the cakes in black and white, I guessed it was pink.
I did guess correctly for once 💀
Also curious if your nails were just coincidence? 😂
I was so invested in the story I forgot to guess 😂
I could see the pink undertones. That’s how I knew
Second so cute i think it a girl
Just watch yess i got it correct
I guessed correctly, but consequently am craving cake.
My grandfather wanted ay least one son but ended up with 7 girls and 2 stepdaughters 😂 he was very much a manly man too.
Oh and 4 granddaughters (me included lol)
@@MP-rf8vg haha that's honestly so cute tho
Wait jkrew just had a baby reveal and their cake looks identical did they order?
maybe i'm too trans for this but i can't imagine caring about the gender of a baby
Yes, I guessed right. But I also noticed when it was black and white 🙈🙈
Just wanted to share because it was quite cute story and she was so happy about it 😊
Also found out my mom never was interested finding out about me and my siblings gender (4 kids, 3 girls - 1 boy) until we were born LOL.
Well decorated yummy
Gotta catchum all i guess
I guessed a girl and i was right!!! Congratulations to the parents!! 💕
And give her a SUPER serotonin BLAST TO THE FACE I HABE THE FIRST GRANDSON ME ME ME
Boy!!
Miss gurl-
There's nothing wrong in wanting a specific gender.
Stay strong and f**k those misogynists in your life
I was so into the story that I forgot to guess! 😂
❤❤❤
i didn’t guess that balloon in the back threw me off 😂
guess: its a baby!
Its a boy because the background of the subtitles is blue
🧡
I guessed correctly
For people saying “she wanted a boy cause patriarchy “ or whatever, it’s natural to wish for a child of different gender from what’s already in the family, doesn’t mean a girl would’ve been less loved.
Thank you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I got so wrapped up in the story that I forgot to guess the gender 😂
I can see faint pink color through the frosting
I guessed it correctly 🙌🏼
And my mother loves all her grandbabies the same way.
i typed this comment with a grape 🍇

Mimo what is your opinion on Joost Klein and the incident?
I don’t know who that is
@@BakeMyDayMimoDo you know what Eurovision is?
The blue text threw me off. 😂

YOUR HAVING A BABY !?!?! 🤨😲
it’s not her cake it’s for somebody else 😭😭
Lol, I thought she was having a baby, so I was like, whattttttt lol 😆
Why couldn't they just cut the cake like a normal person. 😅😅😅
I’m guessing boy bc of the color of the text on the screen
The red herring was the blue highlight in captions.
Gurl
Before watching reveal: I think it’s a boy
After: OMG it’s a girl and such pretty cake
“jumped up and down” oh. I guess she did not in fact want a happy healthy baby.
Pink
They're sex reveals, not gender reveals.
@@itshibread They reveal the sex of the baby. You can't infer gender based on sex. Gender isn't sex, and before you get all uppity, please note that Mimo would, indeed, do a gender reveal cake for a trans person. You're not on the right side, here
