I can't praise this channel enough for uploading and sharing all these motorsport shows and races with all of us not having access to either watch the races in real life and or 'live' on the TV. As always: thank you so much IMSA, you absolute masters of content!
I'm glad to hear that this is meant to be the last IMSA race at Belle Isle Park. I've always disliked the street circuits. Lack of margin of error leads to more significant crashes, which leads to more frequent safety car periods. In a 100 minute race, safety cars take up too great a proportion of the race time. Not to mention the safety issues of having scant few areas protected by tire stacks, and the costs of repairing/replacing LMDh cars that hit walls that shouldn't be that close to the racing surface.
In 20 of the last 21 minutes, the graphics showed lap times. With the end of the race approaching, it would be nice to know how close the races are. And it would also be nice to know how things were going in the GTD category. Almost no coverage of that race toward the end, even with only 2 classes. And listing only how many laps down the GTD cars were from the overall leader in the graphics is utterly useless. It's as if the GTD race didn't matter at all. We didn't have useful graphic information for GTD cars at all once the DPi's lapped them, and only occasional commentary.
We list the classes on the event page ahead of time so fans can have a look at just what classes are attending an event. GTD PRO only runs 10 of the 12 races on the WeatherTech Championship schedule and there were definitely conflicts with Le Mans prep happening across the pond.
@@imsaofficial While I really appreciate you guys posting the video of the race, would it be possible to upload it a bit faster ? I was unfortunately at work and couldn't attend or stream it.
@@twosunsracing NBC stranglehold of streaming licensing is the culprit for all delays in IMSA posting content, they get it to us on this format soon as legally possible
Thank you but no unfortunately. WeatherTech Championship races are posted the Thursday following the TV race broadcast. Thank you for your understanding.
@@fullmontyuk The ACO isn’t using GT3 cars next year anyway and that wouldn’t increase IMSA entries. It is yet to be seen if there is in an increase for next year. There will be several more prototypes next year though.
Hello IMSA. I am a viewer since the ALMS days and since TV chains in Europe are not broadcasting this anymore, I am always happy to pursue my interest over your sharing here on TH-cam. Unfortunately, I have to report a serious issue. And that is TH-cam 's shameless ad policy. Since I continued to watch the Detroit race here, I get annoyed with ads every 5 minutes! Your broadcasts used to be ad free and I think with the sponsorship as big as your institution and the numerous companies shown on the racetracks and cars, there is enough business representation that viewers need not at all to be annoyed by those greedy TH-cam cunts! I hope the ad molesting is neither in your interest and that you will be able to refrain TH-cam from doing this. It is just a royal pain in to the ass, especially because it is all the time, every 5 minutes, and you can't avoid it like with re-live function on TV!
IMSA does not monetize any of the videos published to TH-cam. Do keep in mind, TH-cam is housing all of our videos (large or small files) on servers at no expense, which allows us to share all of our videos flag-to-flag with you, the fan. Furthermore, please feel free to visit IMSA.com/tv to also view historical races. Thanks for your understanding.

As always great race IMSA! Very happy to see Vasser Sullivan finally get a good result.
Is it just me, or does that intro look a lot like F1’s old intro before they changed their logo?

What happened to the rest of the cars ?

6:18 Wonder since when Aston joined DPi
eu penso que esse tipo de corrida deveria acontecer no Brasil
de preferência juntamente com a fórmula indy
Why is it the last race? What’s going to happen to the track? 👍
They explain it in the broadcast

Nice race, but, less and less cars every time :(
It's just this race since it's before leemans test week and it was just 2 classes vice 4, it's better this way.

Pipo só parou por causa da pista que é ruim de ultrapassar. Essa corrida era dele.
