When I was a tot, my father (God rest his soul) told me the cap on top of the tractor's exhaust pipe was a "glinger". It's great to see a tractor running with two "glingers" bobbing away! God bless.
When I was a kid I questioned what they were too, a strange obsession why they were there, why some didn't have others did. I was a weird kid. Eventually all the tractors got them.
I used to farm hills like that in North Missouri...They should have stayed in pasture/cattle..Can only do that on river bluff ground.....40 inches of rain per year here..
@2fast65 No, these models of allis never had a v-8, but the older 440 had a cat v-8. This used the 731 ci. twin turbo (12litre) straight 6. Each turbo ran off of 3 cylinders, hence the twin stacks. Awesome old machines.
You do realize that that unit leaves no real ridges so up and down or side to side would make no real difference. Also, the tractor is from the 80's and only 305 hp. Hardly big time anymore.

Beautiful
The 4W305 and 8550 sure do stand out.
@wahwahrockwah I correct myself. The 440 allis was equipped with a cummins 555, if I recall correctly. Not the caterpillar engine.
Im not a Allis guy but thats a nice setup. Thats some hard pullin. Nice tractor and video there.

if you look at it you can see it's a V8 it's definitely not an inline
Tom Reed if you look at it you can see it's a straight 6 it's definitely not a V8
Like the 8550 that has got alot of hp
Why no more allis chalmer tractor? They sound great
The company went bankrupt in 1985 and was sold.
Kool old tractor i dont know much about allis chalmers there arent many in MN but sounds like a v8.
It's a straight 6.
Hey, big time farmer! Let's just keep tilling the soil up and down the hill. Typical big time crop "farmer". Jack ass!!!

305 hp is not big anymore? What happened to the good ol' days?
Chip Douglas They are long gone. Only the big time operators seem to matter now.
Ain't
that the sad truth.
It is sad. I know guys with 460 hp tractors, and they are considered "average" to slightly "below average" for our area.
