You’ve been my go to for all songs you’ve done lessons for. The split screen , and pace through your lessons are very helpful. I don’t see STP Creep. Could you please add that to your list of requests? The lessons that I’ve watched have given me the basics, but don’t seem to match the studio recording. Your lessons are always spot on. Thanks in advance Carl. Happy Holidays
Very nice! Quick suggestion for the beginning of the solo. Instead of the pull off, put the index finger on the 8th fret high E, pinky on 12th fret of the B, and ring finger of the 10th fret of the G. Hold that shape and strum the E & B then G on the up stroke, then the G again on the down, almost like playing an arpeggio. Crazy awesome dissonant sound that Dean gets.
First off, I want to say that the callus on my fingers exists because of this channel, and I love it. But Anberlin is my girl's favorite band and I just so happen to like Unwinding Cable Car enough to want to play it. There are other tutorial videos on TH-cam, but I'd love to see you post some Anberlin songs because - frankly - your lessons are the best.
Stan Holbrook Given that the notes as played are Bb A D G E from low to high since we are muting the 5th string, and the Bb is in the bass, one possible name could be A7sus4/Bb. Since G A D E spells out a G6sus2, you could also argue that it's a G6sus2/Bb, depending on how you perceive what the root note is. Naming the chord entirely from the Bb perspective (that is, not as a slash chord) would get rather ugly...you have the major seventh of A, the major third of D, a #4 of E and a 6th of G, although I'd probably call them a #11 and 13th here because they're both in a higher octave than the root. So it would be something like Bbmaj13#11 without the fifth.
Good job, thank you for the excellent lesson. You're covering pretty much everything about the 1st guitar but what is the 2nd guitar (clean) playing during all verses? It seems to me like some kind of G but nothing I try sounds like it. Thanks
Carl! Or anybody for the matter, I got invited to play a classical version of the bridal chorus at a wedding and hopped on TH-cam and was surprised to not find any decent tutorial. Anyone have a link or Carl possibly be able to throw a piece together??
no one Will ever understand how long I've waited for a high quality guitar lesson for this song.
Not a difficult song, but a VERY good lesson on how to play it properly, including the lead. Shortens the learning curve exponentially!
