Fighting Wildfires by Supporting Base Camp Operations

They’re not working directly on the fire line, but there’s no doubt their contributions play an important part in controlling the state’s wildfires. Up to three weeks of 16-hour days is most assuredly #hardwork. Our Corpsmembers know that by helping keep base camps running smoothly, firefighters can stay focused on the flames. Since June, 59 CCC crews have responded to 123 assignments at 21 wildfire incidents in California and Oregon, for our state and federal partners. It’s already been a busy summer at base camps, and these young adults are committed to making a difference at each and every one of them. #CaliforniaConservationCorps #CCCemergency
