Dang Mo.....I thank you got a heck of a deal!!!!....I have seen trailer of the same year go for over $2000.00. I have a 1987 Travlite motorcycle tent camper, now it is a true camper, it is 33 years old, and I Paid $1500 2 years ago, and I still LOVE it!!! I pull it with my Honda ST1300, and with is loaded I am pulling about 475lbs, and trust me I don't fell it, you have no problem pulling that trailer with the Goldwing. The 2 most important things about pulling a trailer on a motorcycle are the hitch, and the bearings. all ways, all ways check the hitch, and at the beginning of the riding season check the bearings. Stay safe, ride safe!

Mo, I finally found the time to watch your video. The trailer may need a little work but you are up to the task. It was well worth the price you paid and I think you will get lots of use out if it once you begin to use it. Have fun and ride safe. Larry.

That's awesome Mo! I also just bought a trailer to go with my Silver 2009 GL1800. Also an older trailer, but I re-did the electrical, new bearings, new hubs and wheels it's been my spring project for the last few months. Mine is fiberglass and came with a swivel hitch for $225 Canadian. I put just about $400 into it, turned out really nice so far. all new LED lights, carpet on the inside, and new wiring. It seems the trailer plugs are a bit of a wild west, with everybody choosing completely different plugs. I went with a flat 5, so I can plug it into a flat 4 and tow it with a car, or I can plug it into the flat 5 on the bike. Think that's a good choice over all. Hitch and wiring wasn't too bad I went with the ShowChrome big bike parts hitch and wiring.

Nice little trailer Mo . I’d love to find one like that - it’s even the same color as my GL1500 , so I wouldn’t have to paint it ! 😁

    Ay Mo,
I am not a trailer behind the bike kind of a rider. I have opted to a Tail Box like the old Pak-It Rac.
This gives my Wife and myself a large extra trunk and makes touring for a couple weeks or more more than comfortable.
However for a wheelchair, I can completely understand and it's great that the trailer will make sharing motorcycle adventures with your wife quite wonderful.👍 Great choice.
Does your trailer have brakes? They can be retrofit if the load is a bit heavy. However
I think you'll be quite happy.
Oh, I do have a motorcycle trailer. It's a TimeOut camper. We pull it behind the Hybrid car. And yes... don't know its even there!
    Corventure Dave

Hey Mo. Found your channel as a suggestion from TH-cam and subscribed. Nice trailer. With your acquisition cost, you could do some upgrades and still not be in too deep. If White Diamond polish won't bring that chrome back, maybe Escapade still has the replacement chrome pieces. The trailer bar may be a different story. Looks like you're on a quest to change out the lights and the broken running light. New tires look great, and personally I'd put another brand new one in the spare well - even if you mounted it on the white rim. Why trust a nearly 40-year-old tire as a spare. When you need it, you'll want it right. A word about the hitch; see if there's a hitch for the bike side that has some rotational movement. Our trailer is a Bushtec and they use a unique tongue and hitch - a Heim joint. You want that trailer to stay flat no matter what position the bike is in. Like you, when I first saw all of our riding buddies with their trailers, matchy matchy helmets, etc. I told my wife through our comm system "don't even think about it"! A 10-day combined trip to Wing Ding in Nashville and all around the beautiful SE US in 2019 changed that. We love the trailer, and you will too. Depending on speed, you might notice 3 MPG difference. Small price to pay for the convenience factor. I'd rather the trailer take the load than add something to the bike where combined with normal loading from us and on-board luggage puts undue strain on suspension, tires, etc. Great job!

Go for strength, I bought a American Trailer it is made of Diamond Plate Alum and I can carry anything even on the lid. Look them up. That Escapade you are looking at has been the standard for a long time. Not that strong though.

That was a good deal even though it was a little rough, I bet it had been parked outside for most of it's life. You might check out Coach Bob 3 as far as dealing with wheel chairs. His wife is paralyzed and he pulls a trailer behind his Spyder. There might be some good info there. As a Believer and a CMA member, I too will be praying for your wife. Happy trailering!

    Hey MMJ,
That trailer looks good. And for the price you paid, fantastic. Nothing like a little paint and elbow grease to make a older item look good. That brand can be very expensive. I’m looking to get a pull behind as well. Watching this video gave me some ideas. Thanks for sharing.😁

Mo I have pulled a trailer for years and it just makes traveling easier, it will change you fuel mileage a little but you may find that it is well worth the cost. You have a good trailer it looks nice inside I am not asking what you paid that's your business but I will say in that condition I have seen them for any where from $1500.00 to $2500.00 and some were in poor condition your trailer looks good. Like you said with a little TLC you will be amazed. Will continue to pray for both you and you wife and hope she still continues to ride and enjoy it as much as possible. Also SOS pads will clean that chrome. Stay safe and ride with pride.

You got a great deal! The tires look like boat trailer tires. My guess would be Walmart would have them. It's great your doing this for your wife. Not because you have to but because you want to.

I’m with you on wanting a trailer. I’m about to depart on a 2500 mile round trip and have used up all the luggage space on my Gold Wing, even into using the passenger seat for a bag which I can transfer to the luggage rack if necessary. However, I would like to carry more and that’s where a trailer would come in handy.
Congrats on the new (to you) trailer. Thanks for sharing & Ride Safely!

Hello Mo. I think you got a good deal on the trailer. I too found a great deal on a trailer last year, 2005 escapade for 500.00, couldn't pass it up. Love it. I pull it with my 08 Goldwing. You're going to really enjoy the convenience of having a trailer.
I'll try to send a photo if I can figure out how to do it here.

WOW! I would of liked to find one like that. I seen that style, but usually want at least 1500 and that would of been a bargain. I would like to have one to put a bicycle in it. Good for you Mo. I am glad you found something.
