get yourself 120-pound braided leader, you won't look back. you can go direct to trace and fish a longer leader. and also try perfecting the FG knot. thank for the mornings content. glad to hear the fish is back. fishing hasn't been good, just hope this rain doesn't damper it even more.
Shot Nino, I did quite enjoy the Berkeley whiplash braid, think it was 100lb. Bronzies were biting on and off yesterday but out of 5 anglers I think every one caught yesterday. We did well considering Neap tide as well. This rain won’t do too much except add a bit more colour. Shot
Hello I see you are having trouble with the leaders, generally what I do is have a braided leader about double the breaking strain of your top shot this leader wraps a few times around your spool to prevent the bionic finger damaging tour main line and aslo for abrasion resistance, then add a metre of mono about. 70 which does not go through the guides. The braided leader doesn't get caught up as much in the guides.

Mr Hoosain, the shortest way to explain leaders. When fishing with Braid, you need to tie on a leader. You can’t tie your trace directly to your Braid. Leader prevents your Braid from being cut off on the rocks as it has a higher abrasive strength. We also use leader tied to mono for the same reason when fishing in the bricks. Then there’s braided leader. Normally thicker than the braided line on your reel. This you can spool twice around your spool and it will not break off at the know when casting through the guides. Hope this helps

Agreed but my opinion 80lb to 100 lb leader to main line, 1.5m mono leader to trace. Makes it easier to cut and snip etc .
