King Kenny Roberts @ Del Mar Mile

This is Kenny Roberts on Ray Abrams TZ750 powered dirt track bike. The same bike he won at the Indy mile when he beat the "Harley Wrecking Crew". Awesome to hear in person. Unfortunetly at Del Mar this day, his parade lap was cut short due to a delaminating gas tank cloged up the carbs

I was there.. I miss this event so badly used to be the end race of the year for the AMA flat track season... It was by far the biggest motorcycle event in San Diego... We would all go a friend of mine Steve Boozer knew everybody so we got into some of the hospitality tentsyou know and they had road races. Other little flat track races inside the pavilion...for locals... Maybe one day del Mar will get this event back🤞

saw Roberts race in the Transatlantic trophy in 1976 (I think) he was the real deal, beat Sheen, Agostini, Williams etc in the 750 race

I want My tz750 back..... # 0214/ 0179 rode it for 7 yrs in AMA pro and AFM open gp // love how they sound !! espesh full on @ 175 mph.....

Like an Indy car - can't let it drop to idle or it'll foul the plugs. I think there was a LOT of oil in the fuel...

Too much oil will make it run lean. The gel-coat was desolving in the tank and clogging-up the carbs..

Indy cars are 4 stroke ...the TZ750 Yamaha is a two stroke as there is a huge difference and save your Indy car tuning skills for bench racing your pals ..I grew up at the Indy 500 on Gasoline Alley
