This is my conviction that 99% of youth in India are average thinkers, if they are at all, no matter whether they are IIT(ians), IIM(ians) or whatever. They are psychologically second hand people (no critical thinking of their own, they normally get settled in whatever they have learnt from books or tradition) in making their understanding about the things around them. They can't be made think logically and rationally especially in the sphere of their religion and so called traditions.

I am a class 12 student and here’s my shot at explaining what plank’s constant means better than Mr.Hegde at 5:44 LoL Max Plank while analysing the black body radiation spectrum tried to come up with a mathematical formulation of the graph for various temperatures and wavelengths. If energy was indeed continuously distributed to all possible degrees of freedom, it would mean infinite energy could be packed into a system. To avoid these senseless infinities, Plank only allowed CHUNKS of energy to be transferred and absorbed by matter. He “quantised” energy by introducing the “Plank’s constant”. This was supposed to be a mathematical trick and Plank expected the constant to disappear in the final equation. But it didn’t. The final equation PERFECTLY described the black body spectrum and we thus concluded that energy must indeed be “quantised”. This has nothing to do with energy and matter interconverting into one another 1044 times in a second lmao

I have studied Quantum Mechanics as a part of my Engineering physics curriculum. You can't even imagine really what those operators are doing? The thing is we should look at the date, when Feynman said that quotation. It is true that we do not understand quantum mechanics at a deep level. All these questions were answered by Kinetic Theory and Statistical Mechanics. The idea that matter is made up of tiny hard balls that are in a state of perpetual motion was so elegant that it revolutionised Physics forever. We understood how the macroscopic laws of thermodynamics came to being and so much more. The problem with Quantum Mechanics is something similar. We understand it very well, it is like Thermodynamics at this point, and we need a statistical Mechanics. As Physicist Sean Carroll likes to call, we are extremely smart teenagers who knows alot about how to use a smart phone but know nothing about the transistors and circuitry that make it work. So thing is we understand how quantum mechanics works, but what we don't understand is that what makes it work. I myself felt Sadhguru is a big fan of the word dimension. He has a well rehearsed set of theories which he cleverly uses to connect to your question and gives you a convincing answer most of the time. But if you start criticising the use of words like frequency, vibration, energy then spiritualists cannot make a speech. It's is not wrong to use these words in the context some of them use them. For ex. We normally say ' I resonate with your idea' which means both are in the same frequency on a particular topic and hence they easily agree/ approve each other. Same thing with law/theory of attraction - good thoughts attracts good, bad thoughts attracts bad and it makes generally perfect sense and it doesn't need a elaborate experiment to verify.

My earliest memory of Schrodinger's equation was early on in my eleventh standard. My chemistry teacher writes down the equation and we are taking notes. This is my conviction that 99% of youth in India are average thinkers, if they are at all, no matter whether they are IIT(ians), IIM(ians) or whatever. You seem to not understand the meaning of "critical" thinking itself. Critical thinking refers to the questioning of a certain data or beliefs. No amount of solving MCQs can improve one's critical thinking. It may improve problem solving abilities in that sphere, but not critical thinking.
Critical thinking is improved by asking questions. A lot of questions. Basically, it's the process of not allowing your brain to accept any new information as true before checking if it seems logically correct. And the last time I looked at IIT aspirants studying Chemistry, I didn't see anything like that in them. It looks like the teacher pours a heap of formulae & "tricks" in front of them and they memorize them to "crack" the exam.
Also, don't discriminate people on the basis of their college/university. One's educational institution cannot determine one's intelligence.

I am a class 12 student and here’s my shot at explaining what plank’s constant means better than Mr.Hegde at 5:44 LoL
Max Plank while analysing the black body radiation spectrum tried to come up with a mathematical formulation of the graph for various temperatures and wavelengths. If energy was indeed continuously distributed to all possible degrees of freedom, it would mean infinite energy could be packed into a system.
To avoid these senseless infinities, Plank only allowed CHUNKS of energy to be transferred and absorbed by matter. He “quantised” energy by introducing the “Plank’s constant”. This was supposed to be a mathematical trick and Plank expected the constant to disappear in the final equation. But it didn’t. The final equation PERFECTLY described the black body spectrum and we thus concluded that energy must indeed be “quantised”.

I have studied Quantum Mechanics as a part of my Engineering physics curriculum. You can't even imagine really what those operators are doing? The thing is we should look at the date, when Feynman said that quotation. It is true that we do not understand quantum mechanics at a deep level. But we do understand quantum mechanics fairly well from the surface. If you are familiar with Kinetic Theory and thermodynamics let me make an analogy. Thermodynamics is the subject that deals with the flow of heat. It is a vague definition but it would suffice for my analogy. So Thermodynamics had this enormous success in predicting the flow of heat, it had laws that were ironclad, like the1) law of Conservation of Energy 2) Entropy 3) you can never reach absolute 0. Thermodynamics had very well established and empirically evident theoretical frameworks, which worked beautifully. It had relationships between different State functions and so on. But we did not know what gave rise to these phenomenon we observed in thermodynamics. Why heat always preferred to flow from hot to cold bodies, or why are the relationship between the State functions the way they are. All these questions were answered by Kinetic Theory and Statistical Mechanics. The idea that matter is made up of tiny hard balls that are in a state of perpetual motion was so elegant that it revolutionised Physics forever. We understood how the macroscopic laws of thermodynamics came to being and so much more.
The problem with Quantum Mechanics is something similar. We understand it very well, it is like Thermodynamics at this point, and we need a statistical Mechanics.
As Physicist Sean Carroll likes to call, we are extremely smart teenagers who knows alot about how to use a smart phone but know nothing about the transistors and circuitry that make it work.
So thing is we understand how quantum mechanics works, but what we don't understand is that what makes it work.

I myself felt Sadhguru is a big fan of the word dimension. He has a well rehearsed set of theories which he cleverly uses to connect to your question and gives you a convincing answer most of the time.
But if you start criticising the use of words like frequency, vibration, energy then spiritualists cannot make a speech. It's is not wrong to use these words in the context some of them use them. For ex. We normally say ' I resonate with your idea' which means both are in the same frequency on a particular topic and hence they easily agree/ approve each other. Same thing with law/theory of attraction - good thoughts attracts good, bad thoughts attracts bad and it makes generally perfect sense and it doesn't need a elaborate experiment to verify.
Yes, It can be more studied, related and cross checked from a psychology viewpoint than from a physics viewpoint.

My earliest memory of Schrodinger's equation was early on in my eleventh standard. My chemistry teacher writes down the equation and we are taking notes. At this point we didn't have a clue about calculus and even less about partial derivatives. I ask him (the afore mentioned chemistry teacher) if we get problems on this in the exam. Meditation won't give you any special powers. Babies also have more than 206 bones but does that mean they have an advantage ? No. Also humans with advanced sensors can hear sounds of all frequency amplified, and light of all frequency as well on a screen. But it isn't much important. Nature has given us the spectrum which matters the most, other spectrum aren't needed to us.
