I'm an Ethiopian man and my wife is African American. We have two beautiful children and we recently came back from a 2 month vacation to Ethiopia. We own a home there too. Both of our children are tri-lingual. We both are high income earners and enjoy our life. Expand your options.

Why aren't black women dating out period (white, Asian, Hispanic, etc.)?! I'm personally attracted to white men (always have), and Hispanic too!
Women want to be pursued . Men seek and chase women thus Eurasian men (european and Asian and other men of Eurasian ancestry ) would have to seek black women . Eurasian men don't seek out black women in a significant number because they seek out their women more. so it's not that black women aren't dating Eurasian men but Eurasian men don't pursue and seek black women in significant numbers.

Me as a black Africans (Congolese ) from France but living in uk , I’m really not interested about dating an African American or Caribbean. I really only prefer Africans, mostly Central Africans . My international experiences has led me to stick to exclusively dating black American DOS men. In the end, we have the same linage and I know what I am getting. Don't take my word for it, ask an African woman what their men think about Black American men. Ask the same question within the Diaspora regarding how one feel about Black American women then you will clearly see why I prefer to stick to my own even if if means being single to the day I die.

Most cultures prefer their own, why can't we? I think the part we miss in black culture is...hmm can I say class? Most aim to date above their dating class, uh no...it doesn't work like that. Choose a partner who compliments you, resembles your upbringing/family values and you love for reasons other than his/her physical beauty. I prefer black men, similar to my personality/upbringing...never experienced troubles/shortage of dating, now married. The real question is do BLACK MEN feel pressured to exclusively date black women? Madam Noire please answer this question for me. Because I'm genuinely curious.
How can they be suggesting Caribbean men as the answer to the dating issues that black women go through. Most Caribbean men are all over non-black women as soon as they leave the Caribbean. I've seen it. Colourism and self hate is just as bad there as in the US.
Don't get me wrong, I think dating all black men regardless of their ethnicity is fine, and dating often is probably better to get an understanding of what you want, BUT isn't this conversation really disrespectful towards African - American men in particular? I mean the take home message at the end came across really belittling towards AA men as if they're not or couldn't be 'broad thinkers' or cannot love and appreciate women. This sense of women should date broadly is good BUT is guided another the premise that AA men aren't meeting your needs and therefore you can look outside of 'them'. I don't know, it felt a little off for me.
Also, I think one of the reasons why 50% of women don't feel pressured to date AA men could be because those 50% of women aren't AA? You wouldn't feel pressured to date an AA man if you were a Nigerian woman, but would feel pressured to date someone of Nigerian descent. Anyways, that's my two cents.
They need to balance the show by also showing some appreciation for men, or maybe discussing what they like. That way they come off less hurt.

Black people that think they’ve hit the jackpot by dating outside their race don’t understand the history of interracial marriages. Because this show only tackles surface level issues I won’t bother getting too deep because I’ll just be deemed as crazy. But as black men we ultimately caused this new-aged liberal minded black woman that’s causing the flood gates of black women to date “whatever”. I would never date a black woman with that type of mentality because it’s lack of racial self-worth and carelessness about preserving culture and history. American isn’t a race it’s a giant social experiment to erase black history and knowledge from our understanding. We already have European slave names and take part in European culture and now we don’t even want to be “black” anymore. Last black history month was downplayed by the media and these new-aged black people probably didn’t even notice. By next year (2019) February you might be lucky to see any and if you do it’s the same old MLK, Rosa Parks, Thurgoode Marshall (“good” Christians) broken record followed by a commercial with an interracial couple. Now every commercial and advertisement is focused on presenting interracial couples as the new family image. Fine, but what’s happening in those relationships? Are the children learning about African history or just more European culture disguised as all-inclusiveness? See, I’m going too deep....! Lol.

This whole idea of race is a European construct we're buying into. Black Africans just have so much more diversity in our genes than do people of other lands. This whole idea of our own kind and race isn't really African, it's European. We're mixing tribes/ethnicities of diverse Africans.

There was an opportunity for a deeper discussion. I thought this was going to be about interracial dating for black women, a wise option that most black women seem to ignore, but no for some reason they made the assumption that a black woman would only be dating a black man. Black women should ignore race completely and go for the men with the most to offer them. Or... keep being impoverished baby mamas. Your choice.
I’m a black woman from Africa and I feel like there is pressure on me to date men from my own race (from all races) even though I’m not attracted to black men 😂 and for some reason when I mention that I’m not really attracted to black men people tend to get offended and think it’s racist (even though I live in black skin). I’ve had bad experiences in dating African men, it seemed like they didn’t understand racism in America and they almost acted as if it didn’t exist and that was a big disconnect in communication between them and myself.
This is exactly why I'm a little skeptical with dating African men, but I know I shouldn't assume/generalize.
StarfleetOfficer Danielle I tried to keep an open mind but tbh even the sex was way more mediocre than an mediocre African American man, it was almost like I had to direct the whole time. The only thing I can say is they don’t mind spoiling you.

As an african girl living in London i can tell you for free that african guys can be just as sexist, ignornat and misogystic towards women as much as you say afr-ameri men are. They arent anything to brag about😂

I agree with you brother. Lover has no color. I will never put all my eggs in one basket, I love women, and the color, culture or ethnicity of a woman won't dictate my happiness with that said woman. No weak man here, served in the marines, educated, good job, but I will get labeled as weak, a trader or judged in a negative light instantly because I choose to date other races outside my own.

Im a black women and i dont think about dating in general. I dont have options. Im from san antonio and i get no play. I just focus on school and work. Thinking about dating is a waste of time and dating out is nearly impossible. Nonblack men dont like black women, black men dont like black women.
Some white men and some black men do like black women .
A lot of apparent misunderstanding between race, ethnicity, nationality & culture. Though questionable Black would be considered a 'race' while Nigerian, Haitian, Brasilian, American, etc would be a nationality. African-American, Kreyol, Igbo, Yoruba, etc. would be cultures.
I’ve never felt pressure to exclusively date Black Men. I have preferences for African American men over other men in the diaspora because I can relate more to them.

I really do not like Black American men. They have crazy mentality and they will live off of a woman. Most black American do not want to expose themselves and learn from other cultures. They are just plain crazy. Not ambitious, if they are, they go marry to other races.

I tend to watch videos like this to understand black thought from both the man/woman's perspective....I'm all for dating whomever makes you happy regardless of race and not one to bash someone whom does so.....what I'm perplexed about is regarding why black women feel pressured to dating exclusively within their own...could any woman give their thoughts on the matter?
I think they feel obligated because black people"understand the struggle" and they feel they can "relate more because we have more in common"? I have no idea honestly, just speculating

I'm West Indian American. *Most* of the women I see are Caribbean, but I'm lucky enough to have connections with other races and culture. A person's *character* is more important than their background.
Every black man I have ever been interested in, wasn't interested in me. So, there was never any pressure for me.

I don't feel any pressure, I just prefer black men... i don't have to interpret or translate myself or my actions... everything just naturally flows... love the BROTHERS :) There is no weird... I wonder what black women are like or this is wrong in the eyes of my people/family syndromes floating around the relationship.... aND I am always 100% satisfied with the personification of the man and his upkeep of himself-hair, skin, teeth, body, etc. Don't have to worry about weird lacks of cleanliness or butt-less-ness lol( Brothas have nice booty too :D) Plus, I'm not half way wondering why they said or did what they did... Everything about the relationship is pure, no need to second guess him or his motives and intentions.
