It gives the appearance of being a bug, since it happens on only a few cars, but I'm inclined to think this is actually how the drift pro system is supposed to work, considering they programmed in new names for the drifts all the way up to 10k. No normal car can reach over like 4k unless you're spinning it in a circle. I hope they update it so that ALL cars can chain the score like this, it feels more fun and risky, like the old games they're trying to emulate. I remember being able to hold a single combo during an entire event in Carbon, which would grant you an insane amount of points if you pulled it off, or drop you back down to 0 near the end if you mess up.
Yeah, I would agree that it is bugged and it is not working properly. Lets see. But this chaining will create multiple millions scores.. from other lerspective I dont know if I want that chaining in game
that was exactly what I was thinking honestly, and apart form that considering the "chaining" mechanic that counts how many corners you've chained and not keeping your score in between transitions seems like wasted potential I really hope that the next patch introduces this as an actual mechanic of pro drift
Just so you know how this works is basically when you countersteer it can snap at the middle of the drift bar and stop counting score. If you get it to overcorrect then it will count it as a continuation of the drift.
Honestly constant chaining was the main thing I saw as the best thing about the previous mechanics for it so could be them trying to keep the aspect of the previous mechanism because that was the best way to clear the tracks with highest points
It's a cheese technique. It works with several cars and 1 truck so far. It's inconsistent but it links the drifts when you chain and the car snaps to a quick angle change while countersteering. With elite offroad suspension and A+ with the Dark Horse Mustang and using full throttle and slight e-brake taps to help chain those snap drifts. I think it's to do with constantly staying at speed while quickly transitioning back and forth while holding the drifts. To be fair though you can outscore the points total from doing this if you tandem twin drift. Though drifting solo it is fun to challenge yourself and try to link the entire run into one huge drift chain.
I mean, im not entirely sure. All i know is that i like the drifting alot but sometimes it just feels so inconsistent. If they can go back and make it more like 2015 drift physics, i think ill make feel more natrual. I also found that the downforce for the car slows it down and grips alot. If i remember, i have road suspension on my S-14 with some downforce added to it, its actually really smooth. So i think downforce plays apart in how the car handles.
A tip I can give which I discovered when playing was you can still break without releasing your finger from the accelerator trigger button which might continue the chain, try that 😊
I've known about the chaining glitches As well. It's also on the z if you put it in The top of S-Class and let me tell you it's a bit ridiculous in S-Class especially as a drift pro car.
Based on the many videos I have watched and comments related to this topic, I think it's a possibility of 3 things that causes this Chain Drift prompt to appear. Constant wheel spin and contact with the ground. This can be achieved with an AWD car more often because with an AWD vs RWD the AWD has all it's tires spinning constantly, so if you for example, hit a curb and the front or back end comes up from the ground, the other side will remain in contact and still spinning, with a RWD car this isn't the case if the rear goes up, so you technically do lose your drift because the game doesn't register your car being in contact with the ground, tho there are somethings that go against this like those uphill runs and downhill where uphill you should almost always be in contact since all the weight is sitting on the car especially for the back end, downhill is more likely to lose traction especially if you hit a bump. Quick and snappy transitions from one side to the other while maintaining speed and high angle. Constant snappy/quick transitions where you don't slow down or take too long to get the transition. This can explain why uphill runs can't do it as well because uphill is slow and the cars can't keep their speed or transition as quick as downhill. Tho there are somethings that go against this too like when you transitioned slowly a few times in this video but it still counted, tho this can also be the minimal requirement or something to do with another factor, so it's the most plausible. Constant wheel spin, maintaining contact to the ground, proper control of your snappy at a high angle and specifically in the green area on the angle bar at the bottom is where it registers it. This is probably the most complicated and overall hardest explanation for it, because it involves everything said above. This time tho with the added fact that the bar at the bottom actually does mean more than just your angle and point of no return. It shows you where the optimal angle drift point is to gain as many points and chains as possible. I haven't seen anything that goes against this since almost every chain lands exactly in that green area in the bar at the bottom, and it's hard to pull off which explains the inconsistency. It also explains why it's hard to do in any area you drift be it on a hill or in the city, there are multiple factors at play in each that involves it.
ok from what i saw you can clearly notice it does that when you dont snap out of a drift like the more smoth you transition the more it likes it but idk never played the game
works really good with the silvia, i alwys put full throttel and hit breake and handbreak rlly fast as i swap direction and then it counts but doesnt work by just steering the different way with out handbrak or brake
You’ve been able to do this, I’ve been enjoying the 2015 Mustang GT I’ve been racking up so many points because you can also chain drift up to about 20k
The drift score accumulation time is set to like less than 1 second, probably why pretty much no car can keep their drift score from banking after every turn
The highest chain I've gotten is 45 and chained from beginning to end, I'm adamant that it resets even if you straighten up like half a second. So to keep chaining you need to drift from left to right instantly
@@kendrickllama3231So basically 'chain' the drift? I don't know why Theo is confused on this, it's in the name. It was inconsistent in Heat but it's clearer in Unbound.
I think it might have to do with the car having consistent wheelspin when transitioning. Most cars seem to slightly grip up when they straighten during the transition
They could make it so this isn't a bug anymore and it's actually a feature. You keep the chain until you straighten the car for more than N seconds, so you will be able to finish an entire event if you're capable of Manji drifting the entire way! Just never let it get straight.
I chained 24 drifts and got a solid score of 33k x3 on day 2 of the release in a S+ Viper. So yea, if it was easier to chain life would be grand, cuz i aint done that since.
USing the handbrake when transitioning is how to constantly chain the points no matter the speed. Without the handbrake, you need to be above 60 mph and be transitioning at a certain angle.
If you watch your drift angle gauge at the bottom of the screen you will see why your loosing your drift chain. You can't let it go back to the middle for more then a second or two. If it stays in the middle for to long your technically not drifting. Pay close attention to it and you'll see what I mean. I had the same issue for a while.
maybe its the way of turning? if u turn on the other way slowly u loose the chaining, but turning quick but keep having the control of the car maybe it will make it chain up im just guessing with this
Off-road suspension makes a car more stable on corners and helps it when your tires go into the dirt on the side and the corners making it more stable there too an offer suspension on tar roads before the update major car slippery and slide already suspension with drift tires makes the vehicle's godly
It’s about the speed and momentum… and you can manipulate with burst or tapping brakes on transition… I’ve found these to be the most affective ways to do it posted this car about a week ago now… things insane…. The Chevy Colorado does this as well apparently 👀
I prefer my rx7 for drifting in this game. You can really get those super high speed drifts and the v6 you can swap for it just gives you so much more power in those tight hairpins
Theo, try the Lamborghini murcielago build from MGC, and use the cartoony drift fx since you can see when the chain ends, a chain will happen when you turn and the smoke doesn't vanish(cartoony ones) and the Ghini basically holds the smoke everytime
Hey pants man I doubt you'd see this. But try the sti in a+ drags. Ive been undefeated using it so far. The quick shifts seems to shoot it ahead of everything so far
OK we need to look into this. You are the first person I've seen post a video where the score continues linking with the chaining. NO ONE ELSE IS DOING IT!!! I need to know how to do this in every car in every level.
I'm starting to wonder if the drifts change within a certain distance and if you turn to the otherside before or after that distance range then you lose the chain🤔 If they promote chaining drifts they need to give an ever increasing multiplier based on the amount of corners that you managed to chain in that one drift chain to givw the incentive to chain drifts. If my distance thoery is correct, they should put up some subtle markers to indicate those ranges
I know another game that does: Need For Speed No Limits (yes I play it and no I did not spend a dime or penny or whatever on it) where you can shift the drift side ta side either changing corners or on a straight
Could it have to do with stick input? Like if you have it at 10 o’clock you have to swap to 2 o’clock in one quick solid motion. Not a wobble like most people on stick do.
So can anyone explain why my pc cars are alot faster than my psn cars?? Identical builds, raced each other and the pc cars are on another lever. Aye some people just can't do it. I've actually yet to lose a drift pro race and even though I have a M2 it doesn't even have the new wheels on them. I think my highest chain was 44 before I hit something and goofed it up
7:39 You straighten up too quickly when you're supposed to throw the car. You can't coax around the turn. You need to just throw the car into the corners. You are straightening up too much? You lose your multiplier and bank your points.
Imma say it again. Its a bug as said on the dude on top of the comments. I tried MxgicIQ set up where the TRACTION BAR (you'll only see this in the garage when changing suspension or tyres) I tried it in the centre aka neutral and it works with SOME cars and not all. Having it more road bias always quicker and smoother transitions and also lower the downforce to always that rear end to flick quicker. Also lower your controller deadzone. Don't sleep on handbrake because they did change it, it makes a new sound meaning they are working make it better, because if you look at your rev match limiter... when using handbrake it locks the speedo at the rev you want it for the gear you need most 😊
Learned this week one also drift tires are based off the cars stock setting so build cars that already have the slider in the drift zone . You can pull this move off
Doesn't matter if they will leave the chaining in the end. What w need is CLEAR STATEMENT from devs. It's not LA Noire, there is no need for investigating a game mechanic.
