This confirmed my theory on how AI Covers work: You look for the isolated vocals channel of a song and put the AI voice of your choice over that before putting in the karaoke version: That way, you don’t overwork the AI with the rest of the song and get the vocals sound smoother. This came about because the vocals slightly Desync when the song picks up, but I don’t remember if that just happens natively in the original song… all that to say it’s a big ++ enough that I learned something new.
Pretty much yes! The more isolated the voice sample (the vocals) are the better the AI will handle it. It’s pretty necessary to separate the instrumental and use only the vocals as your sample for the AI otherwise it will get very confused as to what is a voice and what is instruments. Sometimes the vocals themselves are too noisy with echo and reverb that also makes the AI get outta wack (you can hear that happening at the end of this cover.) You have to run the vocals through as much isolation as possible, have the AI do its thing, then add it back to the original instrumental afterward

There’s also options for de-echo and reverb for vocals with lots of background noise. It does a pretty good job of getting vocals isolated. And is pretty useful to remove vocals for only the instrumental as well.
