Hey Tony! Instead of someone in the restroom singing "washy washy", they should have a button they push when someone exits the restroom that sets off a siren and flashing lights on a sign that says "didn't wash his/her hands". I think that would work. 😂😂😂 Happy New Year big guy!
Dear Madame X, We are so sorry to hear that your sleep was disturbed by the use of the safety horn required by maritime law under certain conditions. Although we are not able to offer you compensation, due to the same maritime law, we do have a solution. We are barring you from future cruises on our line, because we cannot guarantee that the use of the foghorn will not be necessary in the future. However, we are forwarding your complaint to other cruise lines. Perhaps, one of them may be better able to accommodate your concerns about safety noises. We wish you happy travels, but not with us.
Oh, my flight attendant wife sees this "Karen" all the time, demanding compensation for the tiniest "transgression", including (but not limited to) having to wait too long for the bathroom OR not getting their drink because they were SLEEPING during the service. NO!
I don’t even understand that lack of hygiene most people show. If you’re too busy to wash your hands on vacation, you really need to rethink your whole life.
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where he is washing his hands in the restroom at a restaurant and watches as the chef exits a stall and leaves without washing his hands. The look on Jerry's face is priceless.
As a diabetic, I'm accustomed to always keeping my hands clean - I travel with hand sanitizer, Wet Ones and Lysol wipes. I also wipe down anything I might touch while sitting on an airplane and wipe high touch areas in my cabin. (arm rests, tray table, buttons, door handles, desk, bathroom surfaces, etc.)
We do too, but what’s disturbing is watching people at buffets etc who get their hand all over food trying to choose the ‘best piece’ wondering if their hands are clean, or throwing tongs on top of food so the handles touch the food 😣😩
Hi. I applaud your carefulness. I just want to make you aware that norovirus is not killed by any hand sanitizer or wet wipe made for skin. Hand washing with any soap works well against this pathogen.
We did a Canada / New England cruise a few years ago. One of the stops was Halifax - where we visited the cemetery where many of the Titanic passengers were buried. Left there and the next day, a sea day, the fog was so bad we couldn’t see the top of the ships smokestack standing on the deck. The foghorn blew every 2 minutes. It was a bit eerie!
Don’t forget the Empress of Ireland that sunk in the Saint Lawrence River from a collision with another ship in the fog. Sank in less than 15 minutes. 1000 out of 1,400 aboard died.
I'm from St. Lucia, Tony. I've been following your channel for a few years now. You have to visit the island. It's beautiful out here. Let me know when you're coming, I'll give you a tour of St. Lucia 🎉😊
I was on a New England cruise the week after Hurricane Sandy. The weather was very calm and the fog in Maine was the thickest I’ve ever experienced. So thick that we couldn’t see the Portland lighthouse or even the Pilot boat as it picked up the pilot. The ship’s fog horn went off for probably 36 hours, and I loved hearing it. I thought it was comforting and kind of peaceful as we made our way through the fog. That trip made me realize why so many ships have sunk off the coasts.
The ship my grandmother took in emigrating from England to Canada, the Empress of Ireland, was destroyed in (I think) the St. Lawrence River by a collision in heavy fog, just a couple of years after my grandmother sailed on it. Fog is scary!
@ Agree, fog is scary. I’ve watched several documentaries on the Empress of Ireland. My Mom’s best friend’s mother’s 1st husband was on it when she sank. He was one of the casualties. I’ve always been fascinated by the history of the Empress of Ireland because of that connection.
NO compensation. That’s ridiculous. We were in an inside cabin in Hong Kong (very foggy) the horn blew all night. We never heard it. What’s with these people. 😢
Glad I don't have a hidden camera in my office, or those viewing the video would think I 'lost it' while doing my 'jazz hands' with you Tony! LMAO Thanks for a wonderful year chock full of news and events for us to partake in! Have a Happy New Year! See ya next year! 🥳
I was in St Lucia and Antigua in Feb on the Carnival Venezia. Loved them both. St Lucia was my favorite stop that cruise. The Pitons were just amazing. We did a land and sea tour that was wonderful!!
Last year in the Baltic sea. The sun would go down and the fog would roll in. You could not see more than 50 feet from our balcony in morning. I bought a cheap last minute cruise and was complaining we were in back of the cruise ship. I stopped complaining the second day. We saw some super tankers up there. Having an accident with one of those would be like bugs on my windshield in a summer day and I am the bug.
Most of my family live in St. Lucia. Things to see Marigot Bay where Dr. Doolittle was filmed. See the Pitons from the water, take a mud bath at the Sulfur springs. Get a Roti at the Blue Monkey in Rodney Bay. We are going in February, can't wait!!!!!
Re: norovirus: While I developed a respiratory condition during a cruise in September, it took coming home, going back to work to get norovirus! It’s all over Denver right now.
St. Lucia: Number 1 is the Pitons, (yes, that is correct grammar, "is" correct because the twin peaks are one place). We have seen them multiple times, and they are beautiful from a catamaran.
Unfortunately its the most people use them but not all, was just on Royal Princess and the crew members tried their best but not all would wash and they had no power, I couldnt help myself and called them special people a few times, maybe make it a rule and have security there
Have been to St Lucia twice. Beautiful lush island, did a land/sail excursion, it was great. You should look into that itinerary and go. 💙🛳 Happy New Year to you and Mz Jenny. 🍾🥂🥳
Honestly there are far too many men who don't wash thier hands. The last cruise I went on to (Ambassador) barely anyone used the hands wash facilities before entering the buffet. They didn't have a hand wash staff member either. Honestly some people are just gross.
Have been to St Lucia twice. The place to go is Anse Chastanet, which is a gorgeous beach, in the shadows of the massive Pitons. The sight of the bright green Pitons meeting the cerulean of the ocean below is unforgettable. Our favorite thing to do is scuba! Haven’t been there in a couple of decades, but the marine life there at the time was abundant and varied. We will dive the island again if we get back there on a cruise.
No compensation warranted. Like Tony says, it's a safety issue. Get some ear plugs or just stay on land. Please note that if you live in a coastal city, there are fog horns too. Most people just get used to it.
Hey Tony, had a stop in Antigua on our last cruise, didnt like it too much. Went for a walk a couple of blocks from the main area and it smelt like sewage. Asked about it and seems peoples septics overflow and it runs into the cement ditches on the streets. Also got a taxi driver to take us for a tour and show sight but he was pretty lame. He did talk a good talk to take the money.
We loved St Lucia. We took an aerial tramway through and above the rainforest. The cars hold about 8 people and all have a tour guide. Beautiful and serene. One of our favorite excursions weve taken. This can also be combined with a zipline tour.
Long time resident/foodserver in Bodega Bay, CA. It’s disappointing how many people are upset by the foghorn sounding throughout the night 🤦🏼♀️ In their defense though, many of them think that radar would suffice. Which isn’t true 🤷♀️
And thanks tony n jenny b for all the posts this year. In curacao i bought some green juice lol the stuff you bought. I even bought a bar of soap made from the green juice. Hope your next years full of great cruises n memories. Be safe.
While on The Crown in July . Sailing from San Francisco we had fog mosty all the way to Alaska and back ( loved the cruise😁) fog horn was used. But you mostly heard it while outside. Believe me I would rather hear the fog horn than getting into a crash with any size ship or boat. Thank you for a AWESOME Crew that keeps people safe. Live CRUISSSING 😅
We have been to St. Lucia! The jungle tram is amazing! When you get to the top, when it turns around, the entire half of the island opens up in front of you! Scary but fun!
Agree about the importance of handwashing, Tony, but unfortunately norovirus is also communicated through the air. Crowded elevators are a little harder to address.
Our secind last cruise was in Sept/19 on NCL (not a great experience due to 5 rude experiences with dining crew (we are easy going 🇨🇦). This May we were on NCL's Pride of America, trying to have an open mind. We took a walk through the buffet, and not only were there no crew encouraging "washy washy", but when I asked where the handwashing station was, as I couldn't see it, the girl standing around bored with a broom looked at me like I had two heads. When I asked where we wash our hands, she shrugged and said there was a washroom around the corner in the hall. It was a one person toilet where there were no people around. The last morning, we could all hear the CIVID coughs. On our FB group I saw that there were a lot of people complaining they went home with COVID. Our urge to cruise again has disappeared, maybe forever. Which makes me sad, as we had some wonderful cruises on HAL.
We have been on nine NCL cruises. Every time we went to the buffet even just for a late night dessert the ‘washy-washy’ person was at the entrance to spray our hands. WASH YOUR FRIKKIN HANDS, PEOPLE!
*_Check out my last visit to Antigua here. Antigua Got Me_* - th-cam.com/video/dtaRrwEpexU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cXYv-JhnXADmMFxR
I’d rather hear the fog horn than the emergency alarm 🙄🙄
Hey Tony! Instead of someone in the restroom singing "washy washy", they should have a button they push when someone exits the restroom that sets off a siren and flashing lights on a sign that says "didn't wash his/her hands". I think that would work. 😂😂😂 Happy New Year big guy!

You forgot "stay home and you won't have to worry about it!"
PERFECT. John Heald need to copy, paste & hit send!
She is probably the same person who complains when the severe weather sirens go off by her house.
I wish.
I bet they don’t wash at home.
This is why I won't go in public pools. People be nasty!
I agree with you Tony --- ban her and no compensation!!!
If she is on a cruise, drop her off at the port, luggage/passport and no directions...Let her sue..
It was foggy when we sailed through the straits of Gibralter and they blew the fog horn for hours, We did not complain, we understand about fog.
The lady who complained about the fog horn waking her should be compensated with a pair of ear plugs. Used ones.
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where he is washing his hands in the restroom at a restaurant and watches as the chef exits a stall and leaves without washing his hands. The look on Jerry's face is priceless.
Poppi got sloppy

It's called "using ear plugs." If it was still Christmas, I think that her compensation should be a lump of coal.
Happy new year Jenny and Tony. Have a great 2025🎉
The only place on a cruise ship where there is NEVER a line is the sinks at the buffet.
I'm from St. Lucia, Tony. I've been following your channel for a few years now. You have to visit the island. It's beautiful out here. Let me know when you're coming, I'll give you a tour of St. Lucia 🎉😊
St. Lucia is beautiful! We been there twice. We did an island tour each time. I would love to go back!
Very pretty island.
What company did you use for island tour?
Still in my bucket 😊❤
@@snoopydukes Sorry, too many years ago.

@ how horrible!
Earplugs are helpful for foghorn. Not sure what can be done about dense brain fog.
😂😂😂😂
Happy New Years Tony and Jenny B

Did you do the excursion through Carnival or independently?
My cruise hands were clean😊. Happy New Year to all the La Lido community. Cheers!

On the Grand Princess they are requesting us to wash in the buffet . A lot of people just skip hand washing.
Same on Utopia. They actually have about 10 sinks along either side of the windjammer right when you walk in
I’m also on the grand and I have to say that if I am just passing through I don’t stop and wash but I do use the hand sanitizer
Happy New Year Tony and Jenny B 🎊 🎉🎊🎉
I am really tired of and disgusted with 'free range coughing' as well.
Thank you Tony for a great year of content!!!! Happy new year to you and your family!!!
Tony thanks for a fantastic 2024 of content. Been with you since the shutdown. It’s been an amazing ride. Happy New Year !!!!!
I replaced the engine in that crane at 4:38. Needless to say I’ve only been in St. Lucia for work a few times
Fog Horn use is a maritime rule!
Happy New Year to you and Jenny B. Looking forward to another great year of cruises and following you for awesome cruise info.
Happy New Year Tony and Jenny ☺️
Re: norovirus:
While I developed a respiratory condition during a cruise in September, it took coming home, going back to work to get norovirus! It’s all over Denver right now.
Happy Happy New Year Tony and Jenny B !!!! I hope y’all have an awesome blessed year!!!
Happy New Year, Tony, Jen & family!
That's one of the reasons I am afraid to take a cruise. People just don't care about their behavior or cleanliness.
IF you take care of yourself, you won't get infected. Pay attention.
IF you see a passenger violating the cleanliness rules, report to a crew member.
you don't think it's also an issue at resorts with buffets and elevators?
That's not unique to cruising. It's an issue at buffets in your hometown and at buffets in other parts of the world, too.
Hell NO!! NO compensation!! Seriously 🤦🏻♀️
Wash thy filly paws!!!!!!! Hand sanitizer does not kill Norovirus!!!
Right?! All these people thinking a squirt of sanitizer erases everything… You need soap and warm water!
St. Lucia: Number 1 is the Pitons, (yes, that is correct grammar, "is" correct because the twin peaks are one place). We have seen them multiple times, and they are beautiful from a catamaran.
Carnival has the automatic hand washers at the start of the buffet line. Most people use them.
Those are slick. However not all ships have em. Regardless they have sinks lol we all have seen some crazy questionable buffet line etiquette lol
Unfortunately its the most people use them but not all, was just on Royal Princess and the crew members tried their best but not all would wash and they had no power, I couldnt help myself and called them special people a few times, maybe make it a rule and have security there
Happy New Year to all,
May you and Jenny have a happy and healthy New Year! ❤️
Have been to St Lucia twice. Beautiful lush island, did a land/sail excursion, it was great.
You should look into that itinerary and go. 💙🛳

Yes - it was an interesting port. We were on Holland America. Did an ecology tour. Interesting.
Glad we went!
Happy New Years to you & Jenny. 😊❤🎉🎉🎉
Happy New Year 🎉
Happy New Year to you and Jenny B. Hope to see you both on a cruise.
A very happy new year Tony and Jenny! Thanks so much for all your effort in your videos. Always entertaining and informative..
Have a happy new year!!
Because it is foggy😂😂!!! Happy New Year!
On the Liberty of the Seas, I saw a lot of people walk past the hand sanitizer station.
Happy New Year Tony and family!
Many blessings!!🎉🎉🎉
Happy New Year's Tony to and Jenny, from New York State
St Lucia is my favorite , carnival use to go there from Puerto Rico

Happy New Year, Tony and Jenny!
Thanks for all your news.
NO refund for hearing the mandatory fog horn.
Finally catching up on vids. Good to hear your news and views for my face! Thanks!
You have to book a cruise to St Lucia. This is one of my all time favorite ports. Can't wait to see updates.

👐 👐 🎆🎇🎆🎇
Happy New Year! Her compensation is that she can no longer request stupid stuff!! Do you & your lovely bride have a New Year resolutions?
No resolution per se. How about you?
Went to St Lucia once on a cruise, very pretty island. Did a tour where we saw a lot including the smell sulphur area.
We have been to St. Lucia! The jungle tram is amazing! When you get to the top, when it turns around, the entire half of the island opens up in front of you! Scary but fun!
Happy New Year Tony, and btw, New Zealand is way ahead of Australia, we saw the New Year before anyone anywhere in the world 🥰 🇳🇿
We really enjoyed St Lucia, beautiful place, one of the favorites!
Happy New Year Tony. To you and your family may the New Year bring health and happiness.
Happy New Year
On my last cruise we visited both Antigua and St. Lucia. Really enjoyed both.

Thanks for a great year Tony. Let’s pray for Don
Flight attendant here. People don’t wash their hands. WE KNOW WHEN U DIDN’T WASH YOUR HANDS. 🤢
Happy new year from Australia
