  • Here's an in-depth review on a 2011 Honda Insight EX. This vehicle has 110,000 miles and it still gets amazing fuel economy, with a friend of mine averaging over 40 mpg on his daily commute to work. The vehicle has a rather inexpensive feel to it, with hollow-sounding doors and a lot of road noise once in motion. The ride is steady and composed, but is a little firm for this type of vehicle. In comparison to the Toyota Prius, this car is a little louder, has a harsher ride, has a smaller backseat, has slightly worse fuel economy, but it is several thousand dollars less expensive. For more details about this car, watch the video above and leave any questions or comments about the vehicle in the section below. Enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

We now own a insight bought in 2011 right before 311, and the car have gone 140 thousand by now, and keep going, my impression of this car is gas saving, good seat position, fun to drive, it serve for daily transportation very well and this is really a good car.

I have been happy with mine since the get go. GOt rid of an unreliable car that sucked premium juice. Took a chance on a hybrid and it has been a blessing for my broke self. ONly wish I have is that it had a sunroof and a compass in the mirror.

I have a 2010 EX with Nav. I like it. Definitely more reliable than the 3rd gen Prius. Prius had lots of head gasket, inverter, EGR, and oil consumption problems. My Insight is still mechanically solid. I have about 180,000 miles. The 3rd gen Prius does drive more refined though. I've driven both. I hope to upgrade to a newer hybrid at some point soon.

How is it to drive? It has a small engine, does that hinder the car in any way?

Fredrik Kleppe It seems to have decent acceleration, especially in the city. But it can be a little slow getting on the highway. It's not scary slow, but it's not fast.

Thank you for the fast reply. I might buy one as my first car. Anything special I should look out for?

Fredrik Kleppe The insight is very reliable, but I would look for an Ex model with stability control (VSA) for extra control on slippery roads. Otherwise, it's a great first car!
