    Thank you for giving permission to stitch our samplers the way we feel most comfortable. I have close friends that would never think of switching fabric colors or heaven forbid thread colors. I love to switch fabric. The sampler might be a reproduction, but I want everyone to know I made it. Have a great week.

    Thank you for sharing the information about how you pull colors, and how you match colours to the original sampler. I love to stitch with silk, and have a rather random collection of silk thread. I pull the DMC threads that are listed for my chart, then match them to the silks that I have. Of course I’m not doing reproductions so it’s a very different process. There’s nothing I love more than pulling colours for a new project! thank you very much again.

    Such an interesting topic this week - the colors for samplers! It had not occurred to me that you matched each type of thread directly to the sampler, and not just getting a list of the DMC threads then doing conversations based on the DMC color palate! I always learn little tidbits of your methodology in reproducing samplers! Thank you for the time you take to make these videos! I am still giggling a bit at that little red case being “ Hugo proof”! 😂🤣☺️💖. Hope you feel much better this week!

    Thank you for sharing your love of needlework. I love the verse on the Jane Goforth sampler. I hope you will celebrate her birthday by reproducing her sampler. I found your color conversion lesson to be most enlightening. Happy packing and safe travels.

Hope you are feeling your best so you can enjoy your trip to Nashville. I will be going to my LNS, The Attic, the week following Nashville to see the new releases. Thanks, Nicola.

    So excited for you to be able to travel again. One day I hope to meet you in person. Thank you so much for the explanation of how you pull color for the samplers. The 100/3 is my favorite of the lines of silk. May pull according to the DMC colors and tweak to what I like. Hope your walk is great - give the boys a hug from me.

    Thankyou Nicola! I always learn so much from your videos. I truely am thankful you try your hardest to stay true to the samplers original colors. It's the colors that first draw me to a sampler then the pattern, if that makes any sense?! Again thankyou and enjoy your trip. God Bless!!

    Hi, Nicola. Glad you are on the mend and preparing for your trip to the United States. Hoping all arrangements go smoothly.
    Question: When a small child from centuries ago misspelled a word (for example, "friend") on a sampler, why not fix the error in reproductions. At a minimum, I hope you show a corrected version in Hands Across the Sea sampler booklets. Personally, I would never cross stitch a misspelled word. I just could NOT do it. :-D

    • @nicolaparkman
      @nicolaparkman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello Sharon - if we changed something the sampler would not be a reproduction but an adaptation. When you stitch you are free to correct but as reproductionists we are not.

    • @SharonCarbine
      @SharonCarbine 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nicolaparkman, thank you for explaining the distinction between a reproduction and an adaptation. Good to know. :-D

    Because of all the social distancing, mask wearing etc we're all susceptible to the common cold and flu now. Wish you well. Lots of Vitamin D - mega doses to prevent and when you think something's coming on or IF do get something. Watch that Vegan Leather - not as hard-wearing as the real thing. Lots of complaints about its longevity in the motoring world.
