TriStar Viper G2 camo review

First shots out of the box. I broke down the gun and cleaned the factory grease off then ran 20 rounds of high brass 3inch #5, then some #3, then some 2 3/4 - 7 1/2" I love this gun, its an excellent value at around $560. I think its going to knock some ducks and pheasants out of the sky and I'll use it on the trap and skeet field and sporting clays too. #Tristar, # Tristarshotgun, #12gauge, #TristarViperG2

I have the Viper G2 12 gauge in Bronze and it is a sweet shooter. I also have the Mossberg SA-20 and SA-28 which are made by the same company (Armsan) as the Tristar G2s. They are basically the same guns.

I bought a Viper G2 in 16ga but it won’t eject shells less than 1200fps. It’s basically a single shot with federal game loads & Winchester superX. Both are 1165fps. Only shells that run reliably are either my reloads or Remington’s express which are $20 a box. Uggh. I want to love this gun though

That sucks ! Since this review, I have runs several hundred more rounds through it on sporting clays, trap and skeet. It does stop feeding shells after around 200 contentious rounds fired but after a though cleaning she runs like a champ again. Have you tried completely breaking it down and soaking parts in a good solvent ? Or maybe replacing the gas rings?

@@bmwcaves maybe you can help. The gas ring? Is there just one that is seated inside the gas cylinder? Is there not a ring that sits in front of the piston ? I just want to make sure that I’m not missing one. I just got the gun and it won’t eject my empties. Please help my son and I. Lol
