The not ideal location was covered before I think. It was something about making boring locations interesting and they took photos by a flower patch in a parking lot or something lol

Based on her shadow at 10:01, I guess there was no reflection in the water because of the direction of the lighting

I really didn't like Jasmines photos in the second round. The one where she is laying down is the only one I like.
But you can rally see how instagrammy her photos is, because it has the same feel as all other photos on Instagram.

I feel the opposite haha. I liked the ideas of Jasmines in the second, but I think that Jessica's turned out so much better
I think the instagrammer has great ideas and concepts, but her execution with angles and possibly settings fell a little short compared to the pro. Both were good though.
She has a "photographer's instinct" but need to practice a lot to develope her technique
Agreed. She has potential but she needs a bit more training. I mean, geez, she didn't even what her own lens was!
Everyone can have great ideas and concept. You don't have to be super creative to develop an idea. But like other things in life, it is the execution that matters. That's why she is an instagrammer, not a photographer. You can see many of the instagrammer shots have poor/overlap backgrounds...Like I said. She's an Instagrammer, not a photographer. The difference is obvious.

Yeah, the instagrammer really has an eye. She's probably exceptional among instagrammers.

I hate it too
i hated the camera strap and one day I took it off and used no strap and it felt sooo much better. I replaced it with a wrist strap that is detachable from Peak Design and it's amazing.
I wanted to see the water reflection picture... But as always i enjoy these videos a lot 🤩

I loved them both! As someone who has worked as both an instagram photographer as well as a portrait photographer, I know that each person has different thoughts going through their heads when it comes to capturing their subject. An instagram photographer typically looks for more unique angles and locations and tries to pose their subjects in more editorial styled poses. Whereas many pro photographers that are used to photographing weddings and more portrait work are focused on giving their clients photos that would make them the happiest with the final product. Usually people like more traditional and "pretty" styles. They also focus a LOT on lighting, camera settings, and many other technical factors.
For any of those wondering, 24mm on the 80D (crop sensor = x1.6 crop) is a 38mm equivalent :)

Thanks, I was wondering if Jasmine was joking or playing dumb to be cute. I assumed that she could read, and was not legally blind. "35mm equivalent" is so often just assumed these days, and it still throws me.

shoot against an average person that is using your pro gear, but then you shoot using just a phone?
The next challenge should be against one of those people that at weddings think their Iphone is the same as your professional camera👀

This would have been a totally different video if you just used a regular person instead of a model and the instagrammers had to pose them
She was actually right about the lens being a 36mm equivalent. The Canon 80d has a 1.6 crop factor so a 24mm lens on that camera behaves like a 36mm on a full frame camera.
ef-s lenses (like the 24mm!) don't have a crop factor on canon's aps-c sensors

Im a pro photographer and this was interesting to watch as I've shot a few influencers. Jasmine says around the 5 min mark about Jessica gives instruction vs Jasmine receives it. THIS yall! Every time I shot an influencer I felt like they were bossing me around but really they just know the particulars of what type of content they need. In that regard I feel like I have to speak up and suggest MY VISION as the creative I am and why they hired me to begin with.

you should do a cosplay photographer v pro photographer! i know plenty of really good photogs who primarily shoot cosplay and it would be interesting to see if theres a difference in approach
it would be also cool to have Jessica do some cosplay photos. to see if it is different from fashion photography

Totally, I think Jessica is not a fast pass person when it comes to shooting, Ive seen her past challenges that required minimum time to shoot, and most of her shots are not that great compared to others but when I saw her picture during her shoot with felix’s wedding I was surprised.
yep. it's not the first time the person she challenges is just better. Brandon is just on another level
There is a difference , Jessica composes a photo and takes her time to make a thought process of it , how to pose, color schemes, light, stance. TH-camrs “Mango Street” do talk about their process of taking pictures and not just clicking away
snapshopped. Ya actually usually when she does these challenges I find that out of all the pictures the people she challenges pics look the best
But that’s just my opinion haha

Can't understand why so many people can't appreciate Jess photos looks. I think her shooting style is good. Her pictures is something that you would see in magazines that focuses more on raw yet classy feeling.
The level of quality the both of them had for the bridge photoshoot was literally the same in my opinion All the pics by both women looked great

Jessica's photos have a gorgeous clean editorial feel but Jasmine's were so creative a fun while still remaining skillful.. Hard to choose a favourite! Loved them both this round

I preferred the influencer shots the first time around because I don’t a love a blown out sky, I like that you could see cloud texture.. but I wayyyy preferred your shots for the second round. You can tell that a pro can deal with harsh light so much better!

In the second shoot, the model was lookin like the lady of the lake. Literally everything.
when she said 36mm with the 24mm pancake lens on the 80d she might have been taking canons crop factor into account. 😀

Jessica, everybody has their own photography style. Your style of taking photos is what makes you unique. That's why you have lots of subscribers. A lot of photographers want to learn from you. Don't change too much. I know we also learn from other photographers.
@Enoch K For me photography is very creative. We have to let our creative side take over. If you are always trying to copy other so called professional photographers, you could be hindering your own growth. Let yourself discover your own path to photography greatness. Learning from others can help you, but from what I have learnt the best ways are the things you learnt on your own.
The first round I gave to Jasmine. But second round, I loved yours Jessica. And I loved the fountain location best. Really cool video.

Once more, I loved everyone in this video. Everybody's so funny and sweet. I liked the second location a little better, and Jessica's photos No. 2 and 4 there best. But Jasmine did a great job as well! The poses she chose look a little awkward at times imo, but the ideas behind that were great. :)

I always feel that sense of prepotency or trying to mask things with excuses and probably that's what pulled me out of considering the whole process something to enjoy. When you mix it with a photographer style that doesn't click with you ..it's funny to think you come to someone's channel to find others people channels 🤔👍

as soon as you look at the second part of this, the pro photographer with her gear, the images stands out as a properly done photoshoot by a fashion photographer. The influencer's poses looked just focused on the portrait side and not taking advantage of the lens and backgrounds, which was expected as she is used to her 24mm lens. Nice comparison.. great content.. would have been better if we can access these on imgur or google photos to actually compare the results
