The fan is antique, but it is definitely not 120 years old...so stop fooling people
this model fan is from before 1910
this fan is (I believe) a GEC Kingsmaster. they are from like 1920-40s

@tintinfan007, correct, fan is probably only late 1940s to 1950s at most, GEC Madras Minor, early GEC/fans do use thrust bearing, and needs constant oiling/greasing
Good repair, fan is a General Electric Company of England make, the GEC madras minor, with its slightly shallow motor height. A typical antique fan sold in India's ebay, this is a 1940s to 1950s fan, though shaded pole. I have opened up earlier models ceiling fan, such as Kingsway/Runnymede, and few others, are more troublesome to work with.. They are using thrust bearings instead of ball bearings like this and requires oil to lubricate the bearings constantly. A maintained old fan runs way longer than today's modern fans 😎👍
Shaded pole motors are way superior than most modern fans of today
I am not sure if it was Pre WWI motor or not but it clearly predates WWII great job regardless

The huge difference when working on old stuff is that usually the bolts and screws never strip when removing them. The newer screws are made with inferior and weak metals and it's always hard to take screws off.
This is not 120 years and must be 30-40 years old during 60-70 fans are in half egg shape
All ceiling fans that are 40 years old are models with capacitors.
The ceiling fan is 120 years old and was made in the 1910s.

Given it uses ball bearings it's more likely from the 1950s. But I'm not a fan nut so what do I know.

If we add capacitor to it speed will increase more.....
The winding of this fan is different, it has 10 coils and all these 10 coils are winding in the same direction. If we want to add a capacitor, we need to replace this winding and make the starting and running coils.

It's not gold, it's copper. In those days copper was not 99.99% pure but instead 90% pure. Sometimes even less, to get around resistance the copper purity was compensated with 10% thicker wires.

इसकी वाइंडिंग copper के तार की बनी होती है लेकिन इसका इंसुलेशन थोड़ा मोटा होता है
