Your doing a good thing for your son at a early age. I taught hunter education for over 20 years and I always felt that the younger ones taught early did the best overall. Good for him to have a dad that can take the time with him.
Hey Justin! O My! It is NEVER too early for a young fella to learn about firearm safety! (Ralphie's adventures will never be the same!) Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Brody's dominate eye just might be his left eye. There is an easy test to determine it. Have him hold his right arm out with his thumb extended. Have him close his left eye and line up on a target. Then have him close his right eye and open his left. If his thumb "jumps" to the right, then the right eye is dominate. If the thumb jumps to the left... then it is. As long as he treats it like it is loaded... and to NEVER point it at anything he doesn't intend to shoot... he can't go too far wrong! It is GOOD to see him take his first steps down this Trail, under your guidance. I see a lot of fun at the practice range in his future! Well Done, Dad!
Brody might be like my son Noah James. He is right handed, but he 's left eye dominant. He's gotta close that left eye or he goes cattywampus. That's a nice present, Mr. Brody! :)
@@jasonbarnes3188 Ol' Noah Bob was showing signs of being a lefty when he was tiny, so I encouraged him to do everything right handed, since the world is a right handed place. He adapted well to being right handed and he prefers to shoot right handed with his left eye closed. He had a little Rossi .22 single shot that he could drive nails with when he was about 10, but somebody robbed us and took all our artillery...He is as close to ambidextrous as anybody I know, or as one of his school buddies told him when he was in elementary and writing with either hand "Hey Noah, you're amphibious!" It's still a running joke with him and his buddy :)
I got a Red Ryder BB gun when I was Broady’s age. I learned a lot and had big fun. Dad told me I’d have to eat anything I killed, so I never shot any birds etc. Sonny Boy was left eve dominant. I put electrical tape over the left eye lense on the safety glaowhich fixed things over time
A few times a week and he will be another Quigley, might put a piece of scotch tape on the glasses until he gets used to the correct eye, some awesome memories there, cant wait to see the progress
Just FYI it’s not real common but I am right handed but left eye dominant and have shot a rifle left handed my entire life. My eye doctor gives me contacts so my far away vision is on my left eye because he knows I shoot that way. He’s a big hunter and said his son is like me. Your son may be left eye dominant the way it looked to me.
Figured it would be something you both could enjoy. He's growing up fast. Your a great dad and good teacher. It won't take him long to be figure it out. My son is 28 in law enforcement. He's right handed with handgun. Shoots left or right handed with a rifle left eye dominant. Shoots shotgun left or right and sights down the barrel with both eyes. It works for him. Brody hitting the box on first time shooting that gun was impressive. Oh it's just a one cock and shoot not a pump. I figured simplicity was best at his age. You squirrel hunt with that lever action. Figured he'd want one like his Daddy's. Great video.😊
started mine at 3 with a bb gun. 5 with a 22 crickett. hes 6 now and carries the crickett when we hunt. wont be long he'll be killing stuff and hunting on his own. enjoy every second bud lol
I figured he'd rather shoot the bull since his daddy does it so much....... anyway, I am right handed but tested left eye dominant. It never affected rifle sighting but I had to overcome it for pistols. Don't know if you've tested Brody or not. Lastly, I thought that thing was a Henry Golden Boy when you pulled it out. Nice video!!
Try having him shoot it Left handed. That may be what he needs. I'm Right handed. I do everything right handed, BUT I shoot left handed. It can't hurt to let him try. Dave
You need to get Brody an eye patch for a little while. I remember my dad drawing a picture of how the front site levels up in the center of the rear site with my 1st BB gun. I think I was 8 but with patience dad he'll learn fast.
Quit eating grass and pay attention. If I had a nickel for every time I've had to say that... Ol' Brody is something else. I'm right handed and left eye dominant. Grew up not knowing it and just naturally shot from the left shoulder, but can shoot either side without any trouble. I think that makes me amphibious.

That’s an awesome gift Mr Brody

This can change over and over, both my boys went back and forth until around age 12, both ended up being right handed and right eye dominant.

You a good dad. that's all that matters.
Brody's trying so hard, doing a great job, boy after my own heart eating that grass, I can't sit in the yard without plucking a few myself ❤❤❤
Even if Mr Brody is right handed his dominate eye could be his left eye.
now you two need to go on sniper missions in the back yard to find the bad guys, with dad being the spotter
Ole Brody was excited lol, kicking that leg ,love watching you all, nice bb,gun
That Is a fine looking gun Brody is about to have a fine time God bless yall from Tennessee

Brody's left eye is his dominant eye 👁. He may have to shoot lefthanded.

Beautiful rifle Brody. Brody, you are shaking that leg of yours like Elvis Presley. 😂
His dominate eye might be his left eye.
