+Kristian Kicinski Worked fine for me: screencast.com/t/xcodIalR It only works on ungrouped faces. Make sure you either explode a group/component or run this within the group/component. If that doesn't solve your issue, send me a picture of your model.
great plugin for laser cutting! although I'm having a little trouble using with Sketchup 8, as I can only flatten single side one piece at a time, even with simple shapes like cubes? Every time I select more than one single side I get a warning and then nothing happens. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot for the plugin anyway! Anita
Alex - I think this has potential. There are a couple of things that you could improve. For instance you could do this which is faster than traversing the selection yourself. ofaces = sel.grep(Sketchup::Face) edges = sel.grep(Sketchup::Edge) Also - if the selection contains multiple faces and a single edge you could use the edge as a suggestion from the user where to start your unravelling. This would reduce - if not eliminate - the random nature of your plugin.
I am looking for a plug-in to unwrap my model for laser cutting, this is absolutly what I want. Great thanks to the author.
this plugin is a great help in creating scaled model. just flatten the elevations of the model, print, and assemble.
Just download it and used it on a cone. WORKS GREAT!! Thanks for the video and the great plug-in.
Great plug-in - will be using it in the future for designing RC planes !!
i used your flatten plugin every day, but wont work with SKP 2016....Just trying to flatten CAD plans
This plugin is not working for me. I tested it on a simple gable house shape and it can't seem to handle it. Tried both Sketchup 2015 and 2016.

I found the problem and fixed it in version 2.1 that should come through the testing process soon. Thanks for letting me know.
Ah perfect! I am using 2.0 so glad I could help! Look forward to the new release.

what screen capture software did you use to make this video?
I like Snagit because it does images and video. but there are others that so this, too.
Thanks!
