The reason you short salvo your anti ship missiles is to goad the enemy into salvoing SAMs at each incoming. Fire 8 and they'll fire 16. Fire 16 and they _might_ only fire 16 due to channel limitations or fear you will salvo 16 repeatedly so conserve their ammo. Of course, if they know what they're facing and they're not a defensive screen they'll try to run.
@grimreapers Out of curiosity, when you did the brawl at the end, why does the Chinese CIWS fire but the ones on the Type 26 do not? Phalanx Block 1B (which the RN has) has a surface to surface mode. Also, those Chinese CIWS only have circa 10 seconds of ammunition on board the mount (in two separate ammunition drums), is that really enough to sink two ships each considering that they would have some sort of ballistic protection of their critical area's? And in the initial missile barrage at range, is it possible to alter the ships behaviours? It would be much more realistic to have ToT launches of anti-ship missiles, and much more likely for missiles to get through.
Because this isn't a naval simulation program. DCS is a combat are simulator, any and all ships in or land units are added in for the benefit of the air emissions. @10:43 - I'm no military expert but wouldn't it have been better for the Nato missiles to all be swarming at once, rather than 1 at a time as the Ciws was able to get them more easily?
If you do the Type 26 again, use the Canadian one. they use a dedicated CAMM battery of 48 missiles for CIWS and have the OTO 127/64 gun with the Vulcano extended range projectiles, plus the Mk41 cells loaded with SM2s and ESSM Block II.
I dont know if this exists but wouldnt like a dozen short range decoys being launched by antiship missiles when it detects interceptors being launched at it or being painted by the radars of the enemy a good idea??? Or like MIRVed anti-ship missiles?
The Type 45 has a 4.5 inch gun that hasn't been updated in about 20 years. The Type 26 frigate has a much more advanced 5 inch gun, while the gun is a similar age, the Americans kept investing in it, and its ammunition. Meaning it's much more potent now.
why sending the NSM straight at the red forces?! they should be sent along the mountain ridge and all hit the target at the same time! and why not super sea skim + 3d weaving?!
The gorshkov appears to have less offensive anti ship weapons when in fact it has more because S300 and other missiles can be used in an anti ship role. This is important because it incentivises aggressive Russian strategy. Why waste missiles on defense when you can use them to sink the ship first.
The Gorshkov carries 9M96 missiles from the S-350 system comparable in role to the ESSM not the full sized 48N6 variant missiles from the S-300 which would be used in that role. One the other hand, the SM-2 and SM-6 are full sized missiles like the 48N6 that have an anti-ship mode.

Also after the red forces are out of offensive missiles, all the remaining sm2 and sm6 can be retasked to be offensive
Agreed
Plus CAMM.
Nice sim test modern warfare is missile wars specially stealthy ones! why this sim dont have any zirkon or legit Hyper sonic missiles ?? also can we manually control the vessel radar missile and weapon system or just pre program sim?
This is not a naval simulator, DCS is a military aircraft simulation these are just added units to enhance the are environment.
Basically all you can control is the ship speed and course, and some of the vessels you can fire the guns. But you have no control over radar or missiles or anything like that because again this is not a naval simulator
Noice battle cap !!
Please add some Indian Destroyers & Frigates too [P-15B and Niligiri] 😄
Why there terrible. Like something out of 90's.
@@EnglishScripter How come 🤔
They have VLS + AESA Radar + Cooperative Engagement Capability
I think your browser mislead you to the older Nilgiri class 😅
Actually we have a tradition to name our new ships by the name of our older ships of the same class.
@@Shubhabratabanerjee Ok so.
It has somewhat long range radar, but the actual quality of those radars is somewhat like early 2000's technology.
It has TERRIBLE sonar, 50 year old navigational systems.
The Brahmos is too slow for its speed to be good enough on its own, and no stealth. It has old onboard radar too.
Barak 8 missile of which 32 are onboard, are less accurate than any American, British, European missile by about 10% in there testing.
Remember this ship needs to be as good as FUTURE ships not current ships.
@@EnglishScripter I've heard that the MF-STAR onboard Indian navy's frontline vessels are comparable to the Aegis and even South Korean vessels have the MF-STAR on them
Pity the Nulka hovering decoy missile wasn't modelled.
Nice. How about Tsirkon missile attacking USA super carrier? Really want to see what happened in simulation but very controversial right.
That 30mm Russian CWIS is a damn nightmare lol!!
Yard sit there no good against Ukrainian subsonic cruise anti-ship missiles😂😂
Non a single ship equiped with it got hit by ukraine missiles or drones except one that got hit by sea drone not a uav @@Wyomingchief
@@ali-haider5788 The moskva had 30mm gatling guns. or do you genuinely believe it just sank on its own?
@longyu9336 its ak630 an old and unrealible ciws
Now they use kasshtan amd pantsier m ciws in their new ships
@@ali-haider5788 yes the sensors are likely obsolete. the gun itself is quite powerful for a ciws but without good eyes and brain (fire control system) it wont matter much.
Can you do it again but the Russians have access to the zircon anti ship missile
upcoming.india mavy versus chinese navy
Yes! Capt crew and beer with a fat steak.
What about a line battle just outside CIWS range (say 5-6km)?
The Spear didi in fact get through in the first run as well....
do another battle using Bhrahmos!!!!
what about the Type 31 frigate?
I'm at 6 min in, my prediction is that all the offensive will be shut down and it will come down to guns
It's probabky worth noting that this is a '2030' battle, as in the blue team doesn't exist yet.
This is an F15 vs F16 fight.
Gorshkov was missing the Zircon missile.
The mythical Hypersonic Russian naval anti-ship missile😂😂😂
Is terminal maneuver a special ability? As far as I know, almost all anti-ship missiles will maneuver violently at the end to penetrate the interceptor. Even the c802 of the last century(the Iranian imitation model called Noor )have demonstrated this ability.
Why has it become the exclusive capability of NATO weapons here?
First of all not all anti-ship missiles have the capability to maneuver, violently?, during their terminal phase contrary to what you think. And no there's no Iranian missile that's capable of doing that.
I also you have to remember the limitations that this is a combat aircraft simulator not a naval simulator
@@Wyomingchief i said almost all...Gas rudders are a very popular and simple technology
Nice video. Why didn’t you give the Russians Zircon missles?
Unfortunately nobody knows where they are. Of course it could be just as dangerous as they're supposed current Hypersonic missile. You know the one that's actually a ballistic missile😂😂
Hey Cap, loving the frigate battles! Would you be able to do 2 RAN ANZAC's Plus the 2 RNZN ANZAC's versus the Chinese frigates?
I have a brother who is an engineer in the RNZN who would love to see it :D
I think an Malay vs Oceania Frigate battle would be more balanced.
RAN 8 ANZAC class
RNZN 2 ANZAC class
Vs
KRI 2 Martadinata Class + 5 Ahmad Yani class
KD 2 Lekiu Class
If those units are added to dcs. Remember DCS is a combat are simulation not a naval simulator. And as far as I know they don't have any modern Australian ships
You’ve gotta go back to a classic, could a wing of Constellation class frigates stop the IJN fleet from attacking Pearl Harbor?
Agreed
CH needs to make the assets individually my pc cant handle the packs but ik why just hope it changes
If you look at his DCS forum threat you will understand why he is now doing it this way, also there are some incremental updates if minor changes, we have seen several lately.
@@superflyguy4488well not only that but people keep asking for things for these Naval units thinking that DCS is an actual Naval simulator when in reality it's not👍
@@Wyomingchief Its a combat simulator no?
Can DCS not include extreme lateral terminal maneuvers?
your giving the blue side such a massive advantage with two entire missile types that simply don't exist yet. why?
@18:10 FINALLY. 😂😂😂
Could you make the missle arrive at the same time by different trajectory?
Galleon fight unfairly crippled the Constellation by allowing the Red Team to have their CIWS but Constellation could not have hers (The RIM 116 is the replacement for Phalanx CIWS)
20mm phalanx just isn't gonna have the same effect as those 30mm monsters. And the RIM's are so good at missile defense
Only the 30mm fired on the T26 and not the 20mm too :(
@10:43 - I'm no military expert but wouldn't it have been better for the Nato missiles to all be swarming at once, rather than 1 at a time as the Ciws was able to get them more easily?
Is the phalanx not able to engage sea targets? They didn't shoot back with them in the galleon battle
I think they did but that ship does not use tracers?
Just how valued?
Zircon?
Have ships like the USS Preble DDG-88 been modeled in DCS or IL? Any laser weapons at all?
They modded a "laser." They just made the bullet speed of a CIWS super fast.
This is not a naval simulator this is a DCS military air combat simulator. Decoys and shaft and such are not modeled for the ships
Ships already in service against ships and missiles still in construction/development...
I wonder why you never use any of Admiral189's ship mods? Like his Sovremenny, Tarantula, or the Iranian Alvand, or the French FREMM Frigate.
I want to see the galleon fight but with the Type 45 destroyers instead of the frigates 🙈
The Type 45 has a 4.5 inch gun that hasn't been updated in about 20 years. The Type 26 frigate has a much more advanced 5 inch gun, while the gun is a similar age, the Americans kept investing in it, and its ammunition. Meaning it's much more potent now.
I'm pretty sure they may have already done one when they had the type 45 in one of their battles
next battle. indian navy versus china navy
why sending the NSM straight at the red forces?! they should be sent along the mountain ridge and all hit the target at the same time! and why not super sea skim + 3d weaving?!
0:40 are there any German frigates available as mods?
No
The gorshkov appears to have less offensive anti ship weapons when in fact it has more because S300 and other missiles can be used in an anti ship role.
One the other hand, the SM-2 and SM-6 are full sized missiles like the 48N6 that have an anti-ship mode.
why do the missiles keep going for the same ship?? love the sea battles . . .
It's the limit of the DCS program which is a military air combat simulator not a naval simulator
@@Wyomingchief Okie dokie,
The Gorshkov is not the Type 11356, it is the Type 22350
thx
Sad to say but this is completely unfair. You did not include the Zircon hypersonic missile which are deployed (not underdevelopment like SPEAR 5) on the new russian Frigate. It is scramjet powered with speed of mach 9.
it also maneuvers
@@canadagoosesyeah and the tooth fairy's real😂
Where is the Zirkon?
Who knows probably still in Putin's mind. You know where all those mythical Invincible weapons that the Russians dream up😂😂
@@WyomingchiefIs it okay that zircon has been in service for a long time and has already been used? and I'm sorry, probably propaganda does not allow you to realize this, well, what can I say, look further at the propaganda that Russia does not have missiles and that Russia is fighting with shovels :)
@@Wyomingchiefуже прилетело - на укр ТЭЦ. :)
@Wyomingchief The Zircon is 100 times more real than the Spear.
So whoever has more deployable missiles wins if they launch all at once to overwhelm the AA/M? Barge full of vertical launchers makes Netherlands into lord of the seven seas 😂
