- I've been getting lots of use out of the @sizzix Stencil & Stamp Tool for stamping... but today I try out one of the stencil sets designed for it!
Spoiler Alert! One of the backgrounds I make is with only one dye ink! @simon.hurley inks build layers so well!
Please send me a handmade card, I will send a card I've made to you!

Definately you gained me as a new follower.
Super cool cards!!! Love them all. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Layering stencils can change drastically just by switching up the inks, I really enjoyed playing around with this one!
I love Simon Hurley's pastes. I resisted them until he came out with the solar pastes and I had to have them all. So that encouraged me to try the lunar pastes which I have also come to love. I especially like that the mica stays on the card and doesn't rub off AND I've used them on wood painted surfaces with great success. I just got this stamp and stencil platform and I am thrilled that it is very easy to put the stencil back in exactly the same place after you've removed it if you find you missed a spot or want to add something else to that particular layer. First time seeing your channel. I will have to check it out more.
I wasn’t a big fan of pastes until Simon Hurleys lunar pastes… they’re SO SHINY! I’ve gone through two jars of solar paste - gold and blue. So good!
I just found your channel looking into the Sizzix stencils before i made a purchase. I REALLY enjoyed this video! I am now a subcriber. Your technique is great. Thank you!
I have some holiday ones to try out as well! I’m loving how quick they set the scene!
The solar paste on black card stock makes a beautiful night sky. I would love to see you create a night scene using that idea or a Halloween card would work as well! I wouldn't have considered adding water to the solar paste for a splatter technique. TFS that tip as I love the look!
That is a great idea Gayle! My fave black cardstock is already in the mail… check back next week!
This turned out gorgeous ❤ I loved watching the process😊
Thanks! Just for sake of time I didn’t show my ink blending, but I believe it was shooting star, crown me and no diving from Simon Hurley. For skies (unless it’s a black sky or a galaxy) I prefer my Simon Hurley dye inks over my distress oxides. They just give such a nice glow!! And then a simple die cut from Tim Holtz for the trees, I inked it up a bit on the edges with some greens and browns
Appreciate seeing how this tool works! I’d love to see more of its use. I caught your other video using it as a stamping platform. Are you still currently using this?
More to come for sure! And yes, this is now my go to platform… I even take it on the road with me, it fits perfectly in my backpack. I’ve also purchased quite a few of the stencils that coordinate with it! I mostly use my own stencils, I’ve found the sticky mat is great for all purposes, I’ve replaced it twice but I stamp and stencil quite a bit! (Replacements come in packs of 5)
