The bus speed record with rockets is always very hard to attempt! I think that you are on the right way, no tires back but in the front! However, you need more weight in as good as all areas on the bus, in the back, the flywheel should be able to be customized so it weights some tons, in the front tho, am a bit unsure since there not is any certain parts that you can add weight on, but it had been worth to take a look on! I think that the long road is the wrong place to try the speed record on tho, it had been easier on that unlimited white field since the bus can go as it wish and still not collide into anything! /L
