Alimodian Iloilo, another beautiful town in Iloilo Province, Philippines (Part 1)

- I found another very pretty town in Iloilo Province called Alimodian, Iloilo. As in most of the towns here the central square is in the center of the town. The curbs are nicely painted and pretty flowers adorn the whole city block. Journey with me as I tour this beautiful town and have a 1 on 1 interview with the Mayor.
WOW beautiful ! like what my friend used to say Alimodian iloilo is a beautiful place , If i remember correcty my friend who is a 3 times mayor of alimodian ,always insist on inviting me and my family to visit in iloilo , his name is ATTY Miguel Anas Sr, a very good mayor and a very good lawyer (ABOGADO DE KAMPANILYA) unfortunately he passed away for a while now ,I do believe he was murdered because he jokes all the tiime, he always tell me ,if something happen to me my friend ramos n enrile are the masterminds.

Nice to see the mayor, never knew him. I volunteer for 1 year in their hospital ALEOSAN (Alimodian, Leon, San Miguel) in 1989-1990. I designed the basketball team shirt of the hospital but funny nobody gave me a free shirt and nobody knew who I am. I don't live in this town but I did enjoy their hospitality and fiesta. I heated the new Mayor is Dr. Alonsabe. Poor guy he volunteer for 4 years ahead of us without pay but proud he's the Mayor now.
Thanks for sharing this feature about our little hometown. @ 1:43, the street is better known as Nichols Street. To the left as you descend toward the river is a couple of homes belonging to families who have made homemade chocolate from unprocessed, unadulterated Cacao. @ 2:03, the monument is of Andres Bonifacio, a Philippine hero. While Dr Jose Rizal used his pen to incite the revolution against Spain, Andres was the hands-on guy- a soldier. In the movie "Back to Bataan" (www.imdb.com/title/tt0037522/), Anthony Quinn played Andress Bonifacio III, supposedly the grand-son of Andres Bonifacio Sr. :) The monument was relocated from the southeast corner of the playground at 2:38 mark. Translation:Established by Agustinian priests on 1754,Alimodian is under the municipality of Leon in 1904 &gained its sole township in 1918, hundreds of Filipinos had died at the hands of the Japanese (WW2) in barangay taban and the first uprising took place in barangay balabago

The Mayor Geoffrey Kalay Alonsabe is a distant cousin. We were classmates in kindergarten and first grade. Finally meet him when I went back in 2016 for my Father's burial and funeral. Correction -- I had 4 grand fathers and grand uncle who were mayors. Fermin Rodriguez in 1850, Isidro Allones in 1869, Gelacio Allones in 1929 and Ruperto Rodriguez in 1931.

the current mayor seems like a really civic minded guy with tons of community spirit and genuine hospitality-was great fun to watch him greet you and then give you the red carpet treatment! hahaha
I have never actually been to Alimodian. Although I did drive by it because it's super close to Leon ^_^. The mayor seems so friendly and humble. Especially to visitors. Friendly people! (: That's what I love about the philippines! It's almost impossible not to be able to make friends and form new relationships. Most just come up to you with a friendly smile! When I was alone in leon, plaza, a bunch of school girls came up to me and we started talking for hours!!! So long it rained and we had to run home lol

that is so cool video. nice little town and it's very clean and beautiful. a lot of old churches that were built during the Spanish occupation. in my province if Ilocos Norte is also full of old churches. it's town has an old catholic church. it's great that you met the mayor of the town. thanks for the vid

Great little video. Have not been there for 41 years. Had 3 mayors from the family since 1850. Left when I was 7 to go to LA, California. Where are you from Texas, Kentucky? I hear a southern accent there.

my parents moved back to Alimodian 2 years ago after being in California for 46 years. Two of the streets there are after my family names -- Rodriguez Street and Allones Street. My brother is visiting next month for a month
