The Disco was my first vehicle purchase at just 18 years old lol. Sooo many great memories of great adventures in my old Disco, so I love seeing you guys wheeling them!😊 Now a decade later I drive the Range Rover Autobiography, but never off road lol. One doesn't simply just drive a Land Rover, one experiences a Land Rover. Awesome video! Thanks fot he great nostalgia!
This video is amazing and reaffirms my desire to get a Disco. Growing up I was in love with Land Rovers. The look, the off road videos, the whole deal. As I’m working towards buying and building my off road rig, I keep coming back to them. I know “conventional wisdom” and almost everyone says they aren’t reliable , that they are a soccer mom car now. But I can’t help but wanting one!
I just purchased a Disco 5 and seeing this is awesome. I will rarely need to drive like this (it does happen and I might seek some out), but I needed something that could survive off-road and still not look shabby when I show up to court. This is awesome. Solid driving.
It seems like your tire diameter is 31.9 and it fits at the factory spare location, do you think there is another half or quarter inch to fit an even bigger spare tire underneath? Thanks
Great videos, thanks for sharing. What make is the tow hitch mounted wheel carrier please? Do you know if it interferes with the reverse sensors and camera?

Very nice video. I take like these LR Discoveries and was thinking about buying one. How's the reliability on them? I heard missed reports from people about their reliability and longevity.
@@afterthelandroverexperience It performs remarkably well even so. I am not convinced the rear diff makes much difference, in most circumstances to be honest.
Gosh I'd love to see how well one could do with smaller wheels somehow and 35s at 20psi. Just a fantasy. Not all tall just low and 35s like the Jeeps fit
@@DylanKing7 ehhh the discovery can have more ground clearance with extended mode and it have a locking rear diff and the discovery has better towing and have a much better range
You have no idea what off roading I have done. If a lift is not needed then why does Land Rover have extended height in off road mode? I have a coil conversion with 2.5" lift to accommodate my 33" Cooper's. It's basically the same height as in off road mode with the air bags. I would prefer 35" tires like my buddies and their Jeeps which perform excellent in that configuration. I like my LR3 for my own personal reasons over a Jeep. However, for my off-roading which is not extreme like some others, 33's are just a bit too small to clear the type of mountain driving and places I like to get to. I'm in Utah by the way, home of off-roading. @@chrisgrider6036
those tyres aren’t meant to have such low pressure - you basically have no sidewall watch Discovery 4 in Baboons Pass to appreciate how stock wheel sizes should be run
Yokohama Geolandar G003 275/55R20. While low profile, they are, in fact, made to be used with lower pressures. Also, Baboons pass is a completely different and much more difficult trail, with sharp rocks instead of smooth rock and soft sand.

Good to see these vehicles being used off road!
Watching this vid again for the 1000th time. Can’t wait take the disco out to Moab.
Such a capable beast!
Very cool! Love the set up on the white one. Did you use lift rods? What size and brand? Thanks!
Thank you in advance. Could you let me know a Tire size?

Did you use hill descent mode at the 9:00 min mark in the video?

I don’t know the answer to that. Ask dirty_discovery on Instagram
Thank you.
sweet Discovery man. What year is it, and what modifications did you do to fit the full size (offroad) spare underneath?
This is a 2018. No modifications, full size spare fits.
@@afterthelandroverexperience not even lift rods?
@@kylerpi I have lift rods and spacers. But the wheel was fitted in there before we added them.

I haven’t had any major issues. It seems that more mall crawlers have more issues than off-roaders...
The white one does not have the optional rear locking diff, right?
Correct

Are both vehicles lifted? Johnson Rods? What tires and tire sizes are you running?
Mine, the white one, is lifted with Rhino rods from Lucky8. I’m running Yokohama Geolander mud tires. 275/55r20

Tell me, do you always go with the lift kit, or just off-road? If there are permanent problems with the drives?
Permanent lift rods. No issues
@@afterthelandroverexperience Thank you
My OCD would ….. Tire Pressure lights 😂😂😂
To do off road, do we really have to purchase the “Advanced Off-Road Capability Package”?
Depends what you consider off road. The D5 in this video does not have rear lockers. Just center.

nice wonder if any one buys them with the discovery 110 and new 130 ?
Any interest in the Rivian R1S when it comes out to get better ground clearance, power, and angles?
It’s also 20 grand more...

nice Discos. Need a 2-3 inch lift and tires with more sidewall. I have 2.5" lift and 33" tires on my LR3. 👍🏻
that’s unnecessary
Agreed, lift not needed. I know I own one and have done serious off-roading with it, unlike ZMan obviously.

No. This is a Discovery HSE

it s good to have v8 on this vehicle, but unfortunately..
Great vid except for the annoying music.
