In the Caribbean, the territorial sea of the Kingdom of the Netherlands has a direct boundary with France (Sint-Maarten / Saint-Martin), Saint-Kitts and Nevis (Sint-Eustatius). Furthermore, the exclusive economic zone of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Caribbean has boundaries with the United States (US Virgin Islands), the Dominican Republic, the United Kingdom (Anguilla and British Virgin Islands) and Venezuela. So technically speaking there's no border between the territories of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the US, only between their EEZs.

Trains from Europe, and also from Paris, arrive to Moskva Belorusskaya and trains to Beijing leave from Moskva Yaroslavskaya or Kazanskaya, which are side by side but 7 km away from Moskva Belorusskaya. So practically, every traveller would take the Moscow Metro between the two, which would be a fourth train :D

I was sad to hear that it’s probably going to be resolved soon because I’ve always had a low-key desire to go to Canada one day, hire a boat and claim the island for myself in the same way the two nations often do (sending a small expedition every 6-24 months to check on the island and replace the other nations flag on the flagpole at the centre of the island, claim a bottle of Canadian or Danish spirits left by the last group, and leave your own bottle behind for the next time the “enemy” come and take the island)

I never thought that my Home City (Freiburg) would ever get any attention whatsoever, since it is really isolated from the Rest of Germany, if you look at a topographical map, you will not only see that it is in the extreme South West of Germany, but also has the Black Forest (Immensly forested Mountain Range) to the east, practically sealing it off from the rest of the Country except for a small corridor along the Rhine...but apparently that distance from our capital makes international geography folks interested in us...

    Here's a couple I have not seen:
    - The Netherlands and France share a land border, on the island of Saint Martin.
    - Also, the Netherlands has a maritime border with Venezuela and the Dominican republic (Aruba) and the US (between Saba and the US Virgin Islands), making Germany be only one country away from the US.
    - The Dutch province of Flevoland is man made and lies in the former Zuiderzee, now IJsselmeer.
    - Even though Russia is a huge country it has no access to a four season port that does not require passing through territorial waters of other states (Pass through Denmark and Sweden from Kaliningrad. Pass through Turkey and Greece and either also Egypt, or Spanish, Moroccan and even British waters from the black sea ports).
Monaco is the only acknowlegded european microstate that is not landlocked (unless you also count Malta as a microstate, which is an archipelago).
    - Liechtenstein is the only european landlocked country locked between landlocked countries.
    - As you touched on the placement of Berlin as the capital of Germany may seem a bit odd as it is not central in Germany at all (after 1945/1990). This is even more pronounced with Vienna in Austria and Bratislava in Slovakia. In all of these cases the choice for the capital is based more on historical or legal reasons (there is already a system in place, heads of state are there, parliaments and diplomats go there etc.) more than location.

It is because we tend to assume that one part of a geographical entity (a country, a region or a continent) is always closer to another part of this entity than to a place from another entity. Real geography does not work like how we tend to simply things in our heads...
For exemple, Marseille and Lille are two cities within The country of France. Yet, the fact is that Marseille is actually not only lot closer to other cities of other countries like Barcelona, Milan, Madrid or Oma than it is to Lille, but it is also closer to another continent (Africa) than it is to the city of Lille. When you are in the southern coast of France you are closer to north Africa than you are to the north of your own country...
Also, it might surprise some that Even the city of Paris, that many people tend to think as a « northern city » is closer to algiers than it is to stockholm

For me, information that Poland, France and Denmark are one country away from USA is more exciting than whole Germany thing

I suspect you are fully aware and have probably done a video on it, but just in case, the Haan's Island dispute between Denmark and Canada has been resolved. Canada now has its 2nd International land border after the United States, now also with Denmak.
I looking forward to walking from Canada to Denmark soon 😅

For all wondering it's 9 countries between US and Germany with only land borders.

so this video is 3 years old but now Germany is also only 2 countries away from the US with its Denmark border, Greenland and Canada actually share a land border now, so this is the only example of an actual land border between US and Germany, and and of course now somehow Denmark borders Canada.

New Delhi is bigger then New York but it has less English-speakers. Kinshasa on the other hand has even more French-speakers than Paris as 90% of its 15 million inhabitants speak French.

Well in terms of largest city there are different ways to measure that. If you are going by metro area, Dortmund is the largest German speaking city as the Ruhr has 6 million and the whole Rhine Ruhr area is over 12 million but at that point it isn’t a single city. Still interesting that Dortmund and Düsseldorf do have the largest metro areas in Europe.
