    This was the only time Jan said, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" in the show. I think because it was such a memorable quote, and she said it again in the movie, anybody would believe that that was a catchphrase of hers.

    • @leonkennedy1259

      Carly Steffen Yea. I thought it was a catchphrase or something she said. I was just watching the tv show Reba and they just made that Marcia joke and had Reba's daughter scream Marcia Marcia Marcia so I looked it up. Lol

    • @buzzbang7930

      Carly, I believe it's because it's what the show is about. Everybody connects with that particular statement. There is a time in your life where you felt others or a sibling of hers is seemingly getting more and more attention than she. And naturally she feels some kind of way, perhaps jealous and or angry, and you say to yourself the name that upsets you the most i.e. her sister Marcia, Marsha, Marsha! Everybody has felt that way sometime in their life and that is why the statement so memorable, then becoming popular. These shows were designed to work that way.

      I just streamed the episode because someone posted this scene to Facbook; it not only has the famous "Marcia Marcia Marcia" line, but I was unnerved to see that at least in this one Jan actually does have that sinister inner voice they gave her in The Brady Bunch Movie (here, telling her to accept an award she alone knows she didn't fairly win)

    I had such a crush on Marcia watching reruns in the 90s. Now shes still cute, but looks too young. Mrs Brady on the other hand...Fuggin miiiiiiiilf. Also isn't it insane how much Marcia looks exactly the same on the movie from the 90s? Growing up, I literally was so confused. She did such a good job that I thought she was cryogenically frozen or something. Even the original Marcia said she did an unbelievable job and it was an uncanny resemblance

      @commnter10 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it was the movie, "Moby Dick", the one made in 2011, that was criticized because in it nobody cussed. What people didn't know, was history they don't teach in school. At the time period of the novel and in which the movie was 'set', people did not cuss. A Christian great awakening had occurred in years prior, and people quit cussing. There was one in Wales once, called the Welsh Revival. So many people became saved that police had nothing to do, no one was committing crimes. Coal production severely declined for a time, because the mules had learned their commands before the Revival. The miners had used cusswords for commands. After the Revival, the miners refused to cuss and it took awhile for the mules to learn new command words. God help our country. We need a revival like that.

    Jan was the real star of the Brady's and had more rounded character development than Marcia. I was a bit old for this program when it was on prime time in the 70's, but I cherish it now. As an only child, I missed all the bittersweet complexities of siblings, so this is how I experience them, vicariously, nearly 50 years later. Thank you, Eve Plumb, for all you brought to being "A Brady".

    Funny how in the later years that Jan turned out better than Marcia. There was the episode in which the ice cream parlor owner could only afford to maintain one employee rather than two, and so he kept Jan instead of Marcia. Then, in the Brady Bunch movies, Jan had both a better career and a more successful husband than did Marcia.

      You know what's so ironic. Marcia may have been the Hotshot of The Family but look how well Jan outshined her on The Dramedy The Bradys. Jan became a successful Architect while Marcia became a former Washed Up Fashion Designer and Alcoholic. Also, I think the biggest mistake was when Jan's Teacher praised he rfor her Grades Improving and bought up Marcia and what a great Student she was. A Teacher should "Never" do that. Also, look at Peter, he had Greg as a Big Brother, now can you imagine how challenging that was at times. Greg had it going on in so many ways.
