With friends like that you should practice self rescue, a lot.

Your raft was way too back heavy. Definitely needed more weight up front to adjust the trim. When you are in a small raft like that, either set your rowing position forward or place a lot of gear forward. That aft trim is a great way to get surfed and flipped. No reason your crew wasn't there sooner to help you. Terrible safety.

Yeah boy, stuff happens in whitewater. Noticed that you were very stern heavy for that small boat in those waves but it's your boat...just a thought. If someone abandons the bow of my boat to walk around they take some ballast with them if it helps me. Nice to get back upright though. Life is too short to run flatwater, eh!

I decided not to post my comment on the WF thread. I think anyone who has run WH long enough will get in some sort of trouble at least once, whether it be minor or major.
Trust me, I screwed up big time there with an overloaded DB once.(because it was overloaded) I almost sank it three times during the entire run. And that was with 100+ runs under my belt.
Two things stand out to me here:
First, your boat looks weighted heavily to the back, which is why I think you rolled over in the first place.
Secondly, and I've never understood why people try to diagonally cut across the waves to come out at the center or center/left of the bottom of the first drop. All you have to do is get a bit to the right(I would have cut to the right @ 4:20) after the can-opener(but not too far), ride out a few waves and drop yourself into a small, calm spot by the right bank where people who have walked to the bottom are picked up.(Most often done by guides)
No criticism here. That video rocked. Glad you are OK, and this didn't happen in December!
I've done a couple day-floats from TC to Harpham in an eight ft. Southfork pontoon, but only with minimal gear. I felt safer in that thing than my DB or raft.

That must have been a bit of a reality check, I have submerged a canoe on the Yellowstone and the first thing I experienced cold water, control your breathing, hold onto canoe raft or boat, plan an extraction. Anyone who goes down a river needs to prepare for a swim. You did a good job of staying with the raft, staying calm, it would have better if there were eddies near the bank to aid your extraction. You were carrying a lot of gear in both rafts.
