I have tried this with both mosquitos in the south and midges when in Scotland and in both situations it did absolutely nothing to deter them. They were literally flying around me while holding it in my hand!

Did you put the refil tablets in?

@@WildernessAdventuresUK 🤣 what do you think. Got a refund and have now ordered a nitecore emr40 to try instead. Think the issue with the mini is it just doesn’t heat up enough to activate the pads properly

@@growingupisatrap6688 on other tests the problem seems to be the flextail unit not heating enough to burn the tablets. EMR40 for the win here too; that's what I'll order.

    Thank you for that.
I have been interested in one of there for a while.
Pulled the trigger on one today, but couldn't find out if it was safe for my dog.
You answered that and I didn't know you could get generic mats for them. 👍

If you have a bug net or screen you don't need it in the tent. Like yourself I wouldn't have inside! Nice bit of kit. Stay safe atvb 👍🦊

Anywhere outside the door of your sleep system will keep them away in my eyes, turn it off when you go to bed and you're safe!

So what chemicals are you breathing in when you're sleeping in your tent?

I did actually say I personally wouldn't use it for that, just as I don't spray my skin with insect reppelants either, but each to their own

I've personally not had any issues as of yet, but I do suppose it's what refills your using and what insects are biting

    • @the.resintist
      @the.resintist 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That could of been cheap pads or a light breeze blowing the aroma/repellent away from him. If there's a breeze you want it blowing the repellent into you/your area. Or if using a tarp you want your tarp set so when your behind it you can't feel the breeze/wind and hang it on your tarp so the repellent stays around you . Or get in your tent and put it on its lowest setting it's totally safe as you can buy plug in similar gadgets for at home as it goes into a UK plug socket 😉💪👌

Ha the youtubers that promote the product say its great, the ones that don't care just shows the reality with the mossies biting them with the product next to them.

@@WildernessAdventuresUK no idea but testing is very important, and it seems not really an effective product.

    • @WildernessAdventuresUK

@TacBlades good answer! I'm not sure if you're a regular on the channel.. so let me explain (sorry in advance for the long winded response)
So, in order to test this product you need 2 things, the first is the product, second is relevant bugs, mosquitos and such - unfortunately the day of filming there were very few biters out, something I had very little control over.
When I agreed to the review, I also agreed to a timescale, ie video will be out in 2 weeks, for example..
Reason I asked if you were a regular... I work full time, I can only get out at weekends therefore I have to film when time allows - another reason I asked the regular thing - if a product doest work, or I don't like it I will always say... I never advise people watching to rush out and buy, I just give the facts and let the individual decide..
There will be a follow-up video when the biters are out, but again timescale thing so I needed to keep my end of the agreement as I'm an honest person with viewers and companies.
Hope this clarifies how I work on this channel - there will be a video on this subject too very soon.

@@WildernessAdventuresUK thanks for the response this was a random vid that popped up on my feed.
I tend to only used to review things i have bought and use for a good long time, but i am not a review channel or monitise anything so its a different thing.
But i would be interested to see how you get on with it when the bugs are out, if you ever come across a slug scare device let me know :)
