- For this month's Patreon selected character; This video will explore the abilities, powers, and origin of the Marvel Comics character "Deathlok." From Colonel Luther Manning being a decorated soldier in the U.S. Army of an alternate future timeline, living in a wartorn age sparked by Roxxon Oil Company's Nth Command who enacted Operation: Purge to rid the world of everyone with superpowers, a tragic battle injury leading to his being selected for Harlan and Simon Ryker's Alpha-Mech Program, becoming one of the most powerful cybernetic beings on Earth, run-ins and adventures with countless beings within the Marvel Universe, to the Deathlok Program having multiple iterations and hosts over the years; Let's take a look at this powerful Marvel antihero, and the most advanced cyborg on Earth-616. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic book and science fiction characters.

Wow, this was one of the first comics my dad showed me from his collection. So for me, Deathlok will always hold a special place in my heart.
Now your talking. DL is a classic legendary character he's the standard for the word "badass". He's done so much most of his feets can't be listed. He's actually overpowered which is why Marvel had put him on ice for a while they actually ran out of idea space for him. Thank you for giving him credit and great video 👍💪

Deathlok is one of those characters to me that I wish they did the exact characteristics of the character like in the comics when doing it's live action adaptations because of how BA the character. Love deathlok, I remember reading his comic from the marvel legends, hope he gets his own movie one day or at least appear in a game so he gets more recognition. He's also one of my personal favorite characters. Dope job on covering his backstory homie.

Ah... this is the Deathlok I fell in love with in the 90s.
The original series was the best. It was futuristic and distinctive from the other comics back in the day. The Warlock series was also awesome.

I read the Michael Collins version of Deathlok back in the day. I bought and read every issue of his time as Deathlok until the drugstore I bought them at stopped carrying them. I didn't have a local comics shop back then so I was subject to the whims of Super X purchasing manager. Out of all the Deathloks the Michael Collins incarnation was the one I grew up with.

Cool backstory on this character. I used to read Deathlok comics when I was a kid in the 70's.

Am I the only one who thought Luther Manning was black??? Seriously, though, I legitimately thought Deathlok was black before seeing pics of him in his pure human form before he became a cyborg. I can’t believe he is white! What the hell happened to his skin and hair when he was turned into a cyborg?? His skin turned brown, his blond hair started losing pigment, and he started balding when he became Deathlok???
