WoW 🤩 That was a Nice Bass, What an Excellent Day fishing, I wish I could wade fish, but every time I think about it, I run into ole water moccasins, you gotta watch your step in Louisiana
Great video! Have you done any videos specifically on your fly rod/reel setups? I see you are using a Maxcatch rod in this video. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on that rod.
Well I've mentioned the rod /reel /line setup a few times but I don't vary much from any inexpensive 4 to 5 weight rod and line that is 2 to 3 over in weight for the rod. These inexpensive fly rods are usually graded as "fast" and will handle line weight above what they are rated for. This makes for better loading when working 30 to 40 feet of line which is about the distance I work most often when fishing for bass. If you noticed I do not false cast very often because it is unnecessary if I overline the rod. The four weight rod has 6 weight line and is my goto for the river and fishing out of the kayak. I will use the five weight when targeting big bass in thick cover or if I need more distance in the cast. I use inexpensive gear partly because I'm gonna break it fishing the way I do.. $40 bucks is about the average cost for the rod.. and the reel doesn't matter but I do favor the automatics of old especially the Martin.
Nice bass and another fun fishing trip with you...Thank you.....🙂
Glad you enjoyed it

I do see lots of snakes but seldom poisonous ones.. Copperheads are the most trouble around here..
Jaime had that cleaned out before you got there lol!
Well maybe not cleaned out but well educated! ;)
On you foam poppers is that about 1/4 foam? I guess 1/4 to 3/8 would work . Now If I could only paint 😁
much thinner more like 1/16" inch... I build multiple layers usually three or four to make most of my poppers.
