I'm from Lomita California..small town near the south bay beaches in Los Angeles county. I remember a few big quakes.. there's been some doozys, for sure. Now I'm retired up in Hesperia in the high desert. Right below Wrightwood ( highest part of San Andres fault).. 147 miles from Brawley

I can imagine you are sick and tired of the ground shaking! I was in Peru when we had a 6.2 but it was followed by dozens of strong aftershocks, I went crazy
No major quake with precursor of 100's swarming quake shocks very strange? Japan 7.5Mw quake there were 5 years of earthquake swarms and then the 7.5 and it was a deep earthquake and very unusual for a quake of that magnitude to be generated by a deep quake.

I was in Auburn WA at the time of explosion.
I was in Fort Dix New Jersey in basic training.
One of the guys in my unit had family there and was flown home immediately.
I was in Hell Hole in Simi Valley at the same time it blew. It's a river cave system the Manson clan hid out in back in the day. We came out to find that she blew... Be safe, be well!

Is there data form the last large Andreas quake that shows a similar migration of quakes from the southern region? Would love to know.
1680 was the last major quake on the southern San Andreas fault!!
@@clayton6524 I wonder if they have data of surrounding activity that possibly caused a trigger.
There are many variables to what actually sets off the SAF, including swarms, the proximity to the Salton Sea i.e. water pressure on the SAF, pressure on the various nearby faults, etc. Deformation is quite evident in the area!!

Look for previous plate sliding from past. There's maybe said two, this one as information and the other that deals within but as plate slide lower. Imo it's the death valley crack running the border. Only my observation of some insight

This guy's putting out some pretty incredible science which really should be taught in schools....data seems to show stress relief associated with the solar events...like ringing a bell with nuclear particles...relief in one area though means strain is increasing somewhere else along the boundary. Would love to see a time lapse of flaring, auroras and earthquake swarm development in a compilation over solar cycle 25 thus far. Something AI would be great at.

This whole area east of the Salton Sea...to Mexicali ( South ) is volcanic with hot mud springs...hot water springs. El Central area to the Salton Sea have had hundreds of earthquakes over the years. The big one ? Anytime !

My husband and I are in extreme North West Ohio, west of Toledo. Most of the severe weather, tornados go to the South of us. Some severe weather just went up into MI. and also South of us.

The exact date, no one knows. But it is going to happen, I mean the big one, very very soon, per warnings from Heaven given to chosen instruments (e.g., Luz de Maria; if interested, please check her website for the messages). How soon? Probably, during the 2nd half of this year.

It seems there have been a series of swarms slowly working their way north from at least as far south as Loreto. There would be an area swarm for about a week then at the next step, another, then another, stepping north. Now the Bradley el centro area. I wouldn’t be surprised if the energy continues north.
Wait until a few upper 4,s or mag 5,s before we get concerned!
Swarms are not all that unusual,and a mag 6.5, to 7.5 would seem more likely than a 8.1!

This is not the only swarm happening, the entire pacific plate and ring of fire have been very active in the last couple of months. I was waiting for the San Andreas to start showing some strain! What is the latest science, can they now discern if these are precursors or stress relief?

Someone said, circa 2011, that the big one would be preceded by a series of unrelenting smaller quakes between the Salton Sea and the CA/Mexico border. These Brawley quakes fit the bill. If you are in California, I beg you please consider getting out of state, even if for a day or so. Consider it a practice run. Please pray about it, if nothing else.

I was wondering the exact same thing! It is a very active geothermal zone, so the crust is relatively thin and now foreign mining companies are ramping up activity in the area, rare earth minerals extraction which we need!

I have lived in one neighborhood, in Woodland Hills CA, in the San Fernando Valley, for going on 7 decades! Been in the neighborhood right next to two major earthquakes, with in 12 miles. No damage to speak of except some broken dishes and glass. Quakes aren't bad unless they are right under you! Around here it's not a quake until it measure over 5.0! We've had hundreds of quakes here weekly, that can't even be felt, since I was born! We are still waiting the,"BIG ONE, that they have been terrorizing us with since the sixties!!! Every 20 years Is the average time that we have between notable quakes! For some reason the media is even reporting on 1.9 vibrations that dogs can't even detect.
