Early in her life, Amy was called to the Lord's work. She never hesitated to answer Him. After extensive mission work in her native Northern Ireland, Amy set off to distant shores. She longed to be in China where many of her missionary friends had gone to spread the Gospel and help those in need, but the Lord had another plan for Amy. She would soon find herself in the mysterious land of India where the suffering was great and where her faith would be tested to the utmost -- a place called Dohnavur, where God's love truly exists.

The Fellowship she founded has expanded and is still flourishing. What a great legacy and servant of God.
We (from Mauritius) visited the foundaion.....The Dohnavur fellowship in South India .....oh! Such a memorable visit .

When in Rome, dress as the Romans do. Just like we have to treat each person where they are that. God is amazing, if you pray with a charitable love, not expecting anything back, doors fly open. There is no place for for selfish ambition. If you don't care about fame, you become famous, in ways you never expected. A person must be willing to die to make to make a difference in the kingdom. ❤

Amy has been a great friend and mentor for my. what a life of faith and love for her savior.
I hadn’t known much of her But this past yr as I looked into mirror at myself and not even sure what I was looking at, my thoughts running of so much that’s happened in my life I asked The Lord Jesus how He saw me ? I heard Him say He saw me like Amy Carmichael “ I’ve since learned more of her and can c why He said that to me. I know I’m a social reformer born on “The Day of Reformation” Oct 31 The Day Martin tacked his 95 thesis challenging the Pope onto the castle 🏰 of Wittenberg and I know from living my life the day of my birth was No Mistake. I’d like to read her books she penned but as of yet haven’t
What a devoted woman of GOD she was -- blazing a new ministry trail! Those she discipled are still serving faithfully! While other ministries at the time were allowing the "natives" to serve them, Amy stepped out in faith as Jesus said serving faithully and standing for the truth at all costs! Her books are just as challenging and inspiring! 💣🔥

My name is Salma Carunia (Amy's Tamil name) that all her children use as their Sir name.
I was adopted by Amy and grew up in the home that she made for her children in south India. I was married to an American and live in America about 40 years. I left home from India when I was 33 years! My full name is Salma Carunia Carter.
I have written a Book about my life at Dohnavur Fellowship which is in the hand of the Publisher and will be out of the press within about 6 months. Title "Christ in me the Hope of glory" My book has 500 pictures of my home in India where I grew up along with my sisters that I took and it will be a very Inspiring, Interesting Book with the stories that has never been told and above all it was said that it is enlightening and edifying by a Baptist pastor who proof read it. God has blessed me with a place that I could look back and write about it as my biography and now I am privileged to tell the world the untold true stories of us children growing up in the Dohnavur Fellowship of Amy Carmichael. I thank God for Amy Carmichael.

Gosh why is stuff always happening to people who serve God?!
Stuff happens to everyone, whether they serve God or not. The difference is that in the suffering, those who serve God are used by God to bring about His plan to draw all mankind to the Christ. Those whose suffer and don’t serve God, simply suffer.
Hardships and persecution will be something that Christians experience. BUT sickness and poverty is not one of those things, because these are a part of the curse of the law. And in Galatians 3:13 it says that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, therefore we can believe and pray for healing and financial support

IF so be that we SUFFER WITH Him, that we may be also glorified together.”
