My Guess: According to Nora, the steps to perform to reach the floor are infinite. Similarly, if we take an example a a regular scale(Ruler) of 30cm long, the distance between the opposite ends is 30cm. But, we know between any two real numbers, there are infinite numbers. Hence, there are infinite numbers between opposite end of the scale. But, the scale is finite as we see it. Hence, the steps to be taken are infinite. But, in bigger scale, the steps are finite.

3:30, as for the Zeno's Dichotomy paradox, it's convincing that there must be an infinite number of steps for the ball to reach the ground and for each step, there is some time required, hence, it gives that infinite time is required for the ball to reach the ground but as we notice, as the distance halves at each step, so does the time. It's similar to starting with 50 and adding 25, then 12.5, then 6.25, and so on as we keep adding half of the previous number to reach 100 but the thing is, we never will because the amount we are adding gets infinitesimally small with each step. So the conclusion is, that there are infinite rational numbers between two integers and that's why the ball reaches the ground.

When you calculate the time of the ball to reach the floor it does come out to be an infinite number of numbers. The real thing is there are infinite numbers of real numbers in between 0 and 1 and we calculate time using a number line, But it is impossible to calculate the exact amount of time till the ∞th place and for calculating till the ∞th decimal point, you have to go through the series of an infinite amount of calculation. Although you might think there is an infinite amount of number so that would mean the addition of all would be ∞, you are also forgetting that there are an infinite amount of decimal places. And the decimals get smaller and smaller every half. The thing is that way of answering questions would just give precision if you try to calculate till, say, the 3rd decimal place and calculate the time it should be almost the same, and if you still keep going it will be almost the same. Zeno's way of calculating is impossible but so is calculating the amount of time till the ∞th decimal. Hope this helps you =D

The Zenos dichotomy paradox- We have to factor one more thing, that the distance becomes shorter every time we half it so the time taken to cover it becomes shorter as well. And we also have to factor in the acceleration at 9.8m/s-2.
Education is better if government doesn't involve in it. This channel is teaching well because they want to earn money so they put out quality content to get more viewers. If teachers where paid the same amount of money no matter how they taught to there students whether good or no so good , they won't put effort because they won't think they really deserve this pay for there efforts hence quality goes down. This is tremendous work! Infinity Learn should be THE STANDARD to all math classes in the world. This should be the only way to teach math in school!! I am grateful to Infinity Learn! In Grade 4, (age 10) Same Problem ! -- Came across exponential functions for falling motion of objects. Got same problem, as her ! ? Object gets closer & closer to ground. !! BUT will NEVER hit the ground !! -- As found on my own, and not part of a course, went through many theories of Why ? -- Most interesting/imaginative: the math is correct ! 😢😢 Saddly 😢😢 I was shown how to "avoid" the problem of: 2 Infinitives ! *** btw *** Zero ( 0 ) is an Infinitive ! -- Can keep multiplying, or dividing, but never reach it. -- By Statistics, can't Reduce to it ! -- Can not describe properly without use of infinity ! ("Must" is an infinitive !)
To complete the infinite no of steps,the time it takes in each step becomes smaller and smaller and as the steps tend to infinity the time taken to complete a step also become infinitely smaller and so the overall time comes up to a finite amount.

However, time for each reduces in natural numbers but distance reduces in exponents. Hence, the fraction of distance and time keeps reducing and eventually becomes negligible which is when it touches the ground.
The first question is not physically possible because according to physics' second equation of motion s = ut + 1/2 at^2 Here, u = 0 m/s (as per question) t = 1s s (distance)= 50cm =0.5m a = gravity= 9.8 m/s^2 Now, on putting the values in the equation we get, 0.5 = (0×1) + {1/2 × 9.8 × (1)^2} => 0.5 = 4.9 ( which is not true) To satisfy the equation 'u' must have some value and hence the question is not appropriate.

The thing about Zeno's Dichotomy Paradox is that the series of infinities we've taken is convergent, that is it adds up to a finite number. No matter how you add the steps, it will always be 1.
3:12 in the series 1/2+1/4+1/8....1/infinity...as we know 1/infinity =0 Therefore these steps will end somewhere as it becomes 0 at the end.. plz suggest if l am wrong..
this is some basic calculus, to intergrate something (which means take the area under the curve) you use x^n=x^(n+1)/n+1 (easiest example it gets harder) but that means for y=x^2 since the intergal is 1/3x^3 at any point x for instance if i wanted to say what is the area from 0 to 2 on the graph y=x^2 i could just plug in and tell you that its 1/3(2)^3-1/3(0)^3 (upper bound-lower bound) and say the area in that region is 8/3, derivatives are the oppisite of intergals think of it as the multiplication to division the derivative of a function that is intergrated is itself but derivatives are instantaneous slope you probably know of mx+b where m is the slope of a function the reason that works is because its linear and the slope is the same at every point if i take y=x^2 again (eq for derivative x^n=nx^(n-1)) the derivative is 2x telling me that at point x=2 the slope is 4 and at 3 its 6. hope this helps

This is tremendous work! Infinity Learn should be THE STANDARD to all math classes in the world. This should be the only way to teach math in school!! I am grateful to Infinity Learn! To complete the infinite no of steps,the time it takes in each step becomes smaller and smaller and as the steps tend to infinity the time taken to complete a step also become infinitely smaller and so the overall time comes up to a finite amount.

However, time for each reduces in natural numbers but distance reduces in exponents.
Hence, the fraction of distance and time keeps reducing and eventually becomes negligible which is when it touches the ground.
The first question is not physically possible because according to physics' second equation of motion
s = ut + 1/2 at^2
Here,
u = 0 m/s (as per question)
t = 1s
s (distance)= 50cm =0.5m
a = gravity= 9.8 m/s^2
Now, on putting the values in the equation we get,
0.5 = (0×1) + {1/2 × 9.8 × (1)^2}
=> 0.5 = 4.9 ( which is not true)
To satisfy the equation 'u' must have some value and hence the question is not appropriate.

The thing about Zeno's Dichotomy Paradox is that the series of infinities we've taken is convergent, that is it adds up to a finite number. No matter how you add the steps, it will always be 1.
3:12 in the series 1/2+1/4+1/8....1/infinity...as we know 1/infinity =0
Therefore these steps will end somewhere as it becomes 0 at the end.. plz suggest if l am wrong..

this is some basic calculus, to intergrate something (which means take the area under the curve) you use x^n=x^(n+1)/n+1 (easiest example it gets harder) but that means for y=x^2 since the intergal is 1/3x^3 at any point x for instance if i wanted to say what is the area from 0 to 2 on the graph y=x^2 i could just plug in and tell you that its 1/3(2)^3-1/3(0)^3 (upper bound-lower bound) and say the area in that region is 8/3, derivatives are the oppisite of intergals think of it as the multiplication to division the derivative of a function that is intergrated is itself but derivatives are instantaneous slope you probably know of mx+b where m is the slope of a function the reason that works is because its linear and the slope is the same at every point if i take y=x^2 again (eq for derivative x^n=nx^(n-1)) the derivative is 2x telling me that at point x=2 the slope is 4 and at 3 its 6. hope this helps
