Hey Brett ,I’ve explored a lot if the 30 + Mines ,quarry’s,adits, passes, stamp batery, relics, homestead foundations all over the mountain ,paddled the yak of to the very first mines called the
Pinnacle and Eclipse mines which is basically a quarry and a number of adits passes , massive really ,
The easily accessed quarry and mines are the Golden Crown which is close to the car park it has a few adits an open quarry face a ore cart at an entrance to an adit and at the Dam edge a 5 Head satamoer battery directly opposite the Pinacle and Eclipse mines on the other side of the dam , you can see the cutting on the hill ,
Plenty info I’ve put up on the Facebook page Yalwal 4wd

Maybe do podcast one day, pour out your own adventures in history, pepper and salt with such yowie intrigue, and local history and lore. Theyre a lot of work to prepare but unique to podcast format, it can be heard on the go. Walking for fitness or commuting or just doing the garden...as not tethered to video viewing. Because you tell, metaphor alert: whole grain organic content rich in yumm and mysteriously engaging content. Just a thought. Back to Brisbane for me, bus then train...am helping daughter move house w six mo old bubby wiggleworm lol

An interesting idea and if I wasnt such a ludite I may consider it. Nice metaphors by the way, I am a fan of language well used. Have fun moving, although I know its a drag, just unpack the bubbly first.

I imagine this too be an ‘active’ area. Have you found any hairy man evidences here?

It looks like n excellent area to suss out. eally remote, deep valleys and hills all around, I fully intend to go back with the purpose of having a proper look around. This first trip however was just to locate the place and take some photoes of birds etc.

Interestingly I was just there on Sunday just gone. Also on a reconnaissance. Intend on spending a lot more time there. I know that Ettrema just to the North of Yalwal is active. In many ways.

There are 2 main ones not far from the main camp ground on the dam. If you follow the road from which you turn off to go to the camp, follow that road say 200mtrs and there’s a turn off to the right. This is blocked of with those big boulder things that they use to shut us out of all the places where there is potential mining. Leg it from there down the fire trail and 2 main mines there.
I’m unable to copy and paste here but I’ll email you a map and some TH-cam links to help orientate yourself. 🙂

Thank you very much, I reckon I know exactly where you mean, pretty sure I saw that when I was traipsing around .
