Been enjoying Ron's channel for about a year but I'm still pinching myself that he actually curates it himself, enjoys it, and even interacts with us. I feel so spoiled lol 🙏 Love it
I've heard a lot of bossa and jazz in this life. Admirer of your performance too. This is electrifying. Deep thanks for streaming this masterpiece.
Obrigado Souza Cruz!
Definitely!!
Thank you so much for sharing this Ron, this is amazing and so great to see you playing Jobim's music with all these amazing musicians. Love it!

37:48 - Se Todos Fossem Iguais A Voce
42:30 - Luiza
46:05 - Wave

Thak you Ron Carter!
I drink every note of the bassline, but you killed me with the last one ( F#) on Girl from Ipanema. Fantastic. Merci beaucoup
This was SUCH a TREAT!! Everyone was absolutely fabulous!!
Oh my. My mother loved Shirley Horn. She said it was the clarity, the phrasing, the power of that voice. Who can think Goldfinger and not hear her ringing out in the theatre, spine tingling!
Whoops! It was Shirley BASSEY - not Horn - who sang "Goldfinger!"
Thank you so much, Ron Carter, for sharing this amazing performance.
Thank YOU for listening!
Mr Carter, thank you so much for uploading this performance. It is priceless. And you were great in it, too :)
I've completely overlooked the music of Shirley Horn for years. Shame on me! Thank you for including her in your tribute.
@Ron Carter Bassist 7
@Roberto Lotti thank you for saving that about Stone Flower Mr. Lotti and, of course Eumirs / van Gelder 's magic...I remember when Sinatra introduced the Bo

I couldn’t have imagined a better bass player for the gig.🤩❤️💫
Gal maravilhosa, como sempre.
Linda demais essa homenagem!
Thank you for sharing this incredible video concert and for your infinite contributions to the arts! Blessing
Thanks ever so much for sharing this, Mr. Carter! Can’t recall seeing Harvey in coat & tie, but you set the pace, and i know he’s honored to be in this ensemble, so, naturally, he adopted your sartorial splendor.
Shirley is elegant as always, and i had to pick myself up off the floor, recovering from hysterics, when HH proclaimed he wanted to either put Gonzalo’s fingers in cement, or just break ‘em. What a fantastic tribute to Jobim and his epic songs!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful concert Ron. I've learned so much from the way you approach playing Bossa Nova.
Oh, how fantastic, thank you very much - great to see all these masters
The Boss of Bosa Nova concert I’ve heard.
So beautiful and wonderful.
Thanks a million Mr.Ron Carter
👏👏👏👏👏
Master, thank you so much for everything!
Maravilhoso!
Some serious talent on show here!
Thank you, Ron Carter. It brings me memories of growing in Ipanema, many, many years ago (currently in Kansas). Be safe!
Thank You, Mr. Carter for this gem. So wonderful to have this lineup of stellar jazz musicians paying tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim. He was a brilliant composer and kind hearted man. His music touched hearts of people across the world. By the way. I experienced you and Kenny Barron at a jazz workshop at University of Minnesota in 1982. It was this experience that inspirede me to become a jazz musician and instructor. Thank You for that and God Bless you!
This is so fantastic! Thank you
Wow, what a treat. I once had a discussion with another bass player who said Rudy Van Gelder should get credit for your sound. iow, as good as you are it was mics and gear that put the polish on it. I countered that I thought you could probably get that sound on a mountaintop without any gear at a all. Now I'm convinced I was right.
Ron You add so much man! Shirley and You all sound So unbelievably Wonderful!
Thank you Mr Carter for sharing these treasures with us! 💖
Gonzalo Rubalcaba -- musical genius. melodic, hot, passionate. Gorgeous!
Maravilha!
Jobim = Beethoven. His music will last as long as the human species. And then more!
There were no recordings of Beethoven so big difference there along with 100 s more.
Oh boy oh boy!梁
Thank you for this gift, Mr Carter. I loved every minute.🙏
I couldn’t have imagined a better bass player for the gig.
How ingenious & visionary to have had a Ballad , with such a Soft & Meaningful rendition , to have been chosen as the Opening Selection of this Awesome Event🙏🏽💥🙏🏽
Thank you Mr. Bermingham!
Que grande Jobim, Gal Costa, Hancok, Carter...
I love the way Herbie's looking over at Gonzalo when he's just tearing up that intro.
Maestro Oscar Castro Neves R.I.P.
This is so lovely. Thank you!
This performance makes you wish history would repeat itself, then I certainly would be there to witness this.

Can't think of a better way to spend my day!
Oh, thank you! So much love and beauty here: heaven.
Thank you, gracias, merci, Danke, Mr. Ron Carter.
That tone on Wave -- 48:24 - like the ocean calling!
I think a few seconds later is the only wrong tone I have ever heard from Ron :D He seems to go into the bridge too early. Still absolutely amazing, Hancocks melodic solo is out of this world.
🌊
Beautiful, thank you.
I am truly in my element listening to and viewing this
Still crying with joy Thank you
Amazing!
Wow!!! Thank you so much!
Wonderful!
