    Hey Henry, that was a very helpful video, thank you for making it! Question: I'm using an OG Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (1080p one) that is very slightly rigged with a half cage. Lens is also the Sigma 18-35mm. So far neither the Moza Aircross 1 nor the Moza Air 1 that I have tried works with it. Do you suppose the Crane 2S would be a good gimbal for my setup?

    • @henrymediagroup

      Hi Charles, thank you so much for your kind words and support! That’s a great question! We have never used the Moza Aircross 1 and the Moza Air 1, but if you know that those gimbals are not able to handle your setup because of the payload, you can definitely compare it to the Crane 2S. The Crane 2S is made for heavy setups, so if your setup is within the payload range, it should be fine. The best way to find out is to contact Zhiyun with your setup details, they are very helpful. Hope it helps!

      Hi! Yes it happened to us before and we did one thing to fix our problem, hopefully it will help with yours too! Do not use the auto balance mode because it will adjust the motors to a wrong power mode maybe because the heavy and weird shape of the BMPCC. Try to do the auto balance with a lighter camera. Try flipping the top handle the other way around, so the long side of the handle points the same way as the lens so it does not hit. also - do you think this could take more weight than you have already easily? - I have the same setup, just with a Core SXW powerbase battery underneath

      That’s a great idea! Thank you for that and I will definitely try it! Yes, I feel like the Crane 2S can handle heavier setup than mine in the video. The only concern I have is the single leg handling because it feels so heavy with all the weight on one leg, and I can’t imagine having a heavier setup on top than mine. I’m pretty positive that it will work with your setup as long as it is not that different from mine. But watch out because your setup sounds taller than mine. Hope it helps! I received mine last week! But when I tried mounting the camera I discovered that my quick release plate wouldn’t slide into the quick release baseplate at all. It's not even like yours, which is very tight aswell, but you can at least slide it in. Mine just won't budge. I can slide it in for like 1/4 but then it's just stuck. And when I want to pull it out I have to use a lot of force. That can't be good. So I'm going to return mine an hopefully get a new one. You think there are some people with faulty plates? You're also the first one on TH-cam that talks about the tightness of the mounting plates. If I look at other reviews it seems that the plate is easily slid on. The whole idea of quick release seems to go to waste with this problem.

    • @henrymediagroup

      Hello Amber. See the thread above when we talk about the problems with the plate insertion and how I fixed mine.

  • @RayRayNNj
    @RayRayNNj 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Just wanted to say that I received my crane 2S and I had problems sliding in the plate in the mount in the beginning too (5.25m mark in your video). However something just “un clicked” after the initial attempt to slide it in and now it’s slides in and out effortlessly. Try pushing that underneath button a few times which I think is what wound up releasing the semi-closed state. It’s kind of like it shipped in a semi locked position and it was stuck that way until it finally freed up (I did get a tiny scratch on my plate during my initial attempts to slide in the mount but now it slides in smooth as butter and still locks tight when I push the lever to lock it in place. Hope this helps.

    • @RayRayNNj
      @RayRayNNj 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it’s something about that lever and the plate that pushes downward to lock the manfrotto plate into it’s slid in position. The design is so that when the lever is tightened it pushes down on the plate. When mine arrived it appeared that the plate was stuck in a slightly pushed-down position. So I had the manfrotto plate partially slid in, locked it, and then played with that release button on the underside of the lever. That’s when I heard a slightly clicking sound which apparently released the push down plate back upwards just enough so that we now had proper clearance whenever the lever is put back into the unlock position. Now the manfrotto plate moved very smoothly/freely in and out of its slot whenever the lever is in the released position, but when the lever is tightened again, the plate lock is nice and secure! I am thinking that when shipped the lever got locked but with no manfrotto plate installed it wound up making the downward pressure plate “stick” in a slightly pushed down position which caused the manfrotto plate to hit that downward plate causing the problem we had in the beginning getting the manfrotto plate inserted. I’m probably gonna love this gimbal but it won’t get a workout from me until my Sony A7S III arrives. .... Cheers to all!

    What's the weight of your camera setup? I have tried to find out the stated weight capacity of the Crane 2s, but it's not mentioned anywhere. My pocket 4K rig weighs 4.3kg (with mic setup and handle) and from some videos that I've seen, the 2s is able to manage that load and then some, but no one mentions its actual capacity.
    I'm not that big a fan of gimbals because I don't want to break down my rig just for gimbal use, but the 2s interests me because it seems to have been designed to accommodate longer, wider and taller rigs than many other gimbals, such as the FeiyuTech AK4500 that has a capacity of around 4.6kg. Though the FeiyuTech doesn't seem to have the same design that allows easy mounting of the fully set up Pocket 4K rig.

      That's a great question! I'm using the NPF battery plate from Tilta to have a lighter setup. Hope it helps! Thank you for your support on the video!

    I just have one question Brother!!! can I balance my Bmpcc 4k without the Cage??? Because every video I watch Everyone uses the cage on 2s!!

      That’s a great question! Yes you should be able to balance the camera without a cage because I have tried using a smaller and lighter camera than the BMPCC and it worked fine. Hope it helps! Thank you so much for your support on the video!

    How do you focus while using the gimbal?

    • @henrymediagroup
      @henrymediagroup 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a great question! You can either use the USB C cable to trigger single center point focus or you will need to use the focus motor for the Zhiyun gimbals. Hope it helps! Thank you for your support on the video!

      @@henrymediagroup thank you so much. If possible create a video demonstrating how to focus while using the gimbal. Subscribing right away.

      We will try to get our hands on the focus motor to do that. Thank you so much for your suggestion and subscription!

    Hi

  • @ebproduction2501
    @ebproduction2501 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    that's what I found out :
    -switch button isn't configurable, and only switch to F-Mode
    Side motor not anymore movable 360 like in crane2, so you can only
    -Inevert mods only possible to go over right motor, when gimbal is on, it moves crazy
    -Automode can wind the battery case or Tripod
    -Plastic tripod is a shame , all-time wobble - I used the metal one form old Crane 2, and all is fine
    -with GH5 and 12-60Kit lens can get to hard shaking, when its looked up, and you use lens support.
    crazy that this only happens when cam is 90 up and all is well stabilized...seems motors have to much power,
    and you can't reduce power enough
    -and not possible to use Phone cam for app like in other combinations, and video live view only possible with transmitter
    (which don't have camera connection cables)
    -new extern controller, no more a real joystick like at crane 2, and no more a real big Know for follow focus...thats sad. and old controller
    will not be usable, told me the service

    Is it just me or does the crane 2 seem more stable than the crane 2s? it's driving me mad lol
