Cool content! Keep it coming!
Thanks! Will do! I am glad you like it.
I have a 1985 honda 250sx 3 wheeler someone converted to a 4 wheeler it has a 87 suzuki 250r front clip fabbed to the old 3 wheeler frame and man im telling ya it rips stock ol honda does great minus the conversion but i love honda ive always owned hondas this channel really helped me diagnose and find out my bike and what it is thank you these videos really help
I am glad the videos have helped you, all I ask in return is you share my videos on you social media and subscribe to the channel Thanks!
I had a 1987 350x when I was 17 I’ve never seen one before and I haven’t seen one since
That would be a real unicorn.
Love the content. I'm Frankensteining a big red.... I have a '85 ES good condition /straight/ not roached frame and I cant wait to start adding to it! My first restoration project was my 200x. It's a shin buster but so much fun.
The journey is worth the pain, wait til you hear it run and get to ride it. Priceless.
I Still have my 250sx my parents bought brand new from the honda dealership in Mexico. Back in 1985. And still runs like a champ. Keep up the great videos!!
If only things didn't get ruined for us ATC guys back then. Aperently we would have had a 500r version of the 250r. We just have to build those our selves now
I have opportunity to purchase a used 1985 rear end and definitely would like to have the shock in the back lol. I know all I have to do Is upgrade and that is not an option at this point. Last question does the front end forts as tree fit on the same bikes, off an1985 big red to a 1984 big red es. 200. I would put the forks, tree and front fender and light to match. Let me know your thoughts thanks
Ryan
Non of those parts will interchange. Tje 84 200es is completely different than a 250es. You will have to cut both machines in half to make the front and rear work.
@@mrcbuilds yup I got it and that thought ended as soon as I got on the internet lol. Thanks for replying
colours are back to front if that 350x is a 1985 hey?.
Yes it's an 85 white white plastics
hi
Last night I picked up a 250SX it is a bit of a bastard as it is an 85 frame with 86-87 motor white gas tank and blue sewn seat. I'm considering putting a 350x headlight on it. Will the 350x fit the 250sx forks? It also needs all plastics and flaps. was there a white 250SX or were they always red? I'm considering keeping it towards 86-87 specs as a later frame update would be a reasonable swap if it ever had to come apart for any reason. I've done this before with snowmobiles. Thanks Ted
Hi Turbo, Yes the 86 and 87 had white tanks, the decal changed from blue to red, the 85 had red tank. Yes the 350x headlight swap is common onto a 250sx.
@@mrcbuilds thanks
The Big Reds SL means Super Low?
I have heard, slow or super low, what do you call it?
@@mrcbuilds i never had a big red so im not sure, ive only had 85 250sx, i was wondering myself
You said no more 200cc class in 1985. I had a 1985 200s.
I was referring to no more 200cc Big Red's, You are correct, the 200s was still being made in 85. Thanks for watching.
350x buyers guide
Hi Willim, I am fixing to do an overhaul on my 350x, I will be sure to include some buyers tips.
@@mrcbuilds Do you know anyone who is willing to sell one soon
@@willimcallow1224 Join some Facebook ATC groups, there are many to choose from, some are very specific to the 350x, that is where I would look.
No 200x?
Hi Royce, the 200x was in the 200cc video, this video was for the 250cc and up 4 stoke class.
Thanks for sharing brother. Some cool info
Growing up my dad had a honda 250es Big Red I had a Honda 200s I had 2 Alsport tri sports one with a 8hp bridges Stratton and one with a 10hp for backup friends and family would ride they all was a blast
Same here, once we went motorized it was a whole new world to explore. Thanks for sharing.
Hello that 350 brings back memories wish we never sold it I have a question I just recently got a 250 SX for free. It’s saat about 10 years still has original tires. I needed to buy tires to move it around my garage. I bought the same tire you have on your rear of your sx I’m putting on the front how come you purchased a different tread for the front? Are you trying to keep it stock looking or the rears would not fit on the front?8-9?-23 I would appreciate any advice. Thank you sir.
I did not put those tires on my SX it came that way, One day I hope to put a narrow wheel and tire on the front of the SX for a more sport look and feel. but I agree, I like the wheels and tires to match.
There was actually a Foutrax 200 that came out in late 1984, that was cosmetically the same as the 250, supposedly its the rarest honda 4 wheeler as it was only produced 6 months before the 250 came out.
The 84 200x was hondas first 4 wheeler, i had one and did a will it run video on it, it basically a 200es 3 wheeler with 4 wheels. Great machines. Thanks for watching
So true how iconic the Big Red was, everyone knows what they are ! 👍🙂
As American as apple pie
I just recently started rebuilding an 83 ytm200 and a 84 Honda 200x with my grandpa. I’m 25 and a lot of my younger friends actually don’t know about 3wheelers at all, but they do marvel at the sight.
Would you adopt me lol
Awesome video the honda 250sx looks a lot like the 350x
Thanks
Hi you have an awesome channel, I not sure if u could message me privately but my question either on here or on messenger. Is it possible to put a 1985 rear big red rear end on a 1984 big red es
The short answer is no the 84 is ridged mounted, the 85 is suspended, it will not bolt in, but you could fabricate anything I'm sure.
Yes sir, I did some more reading and looking around and it is impossible for sure. Thanks for replying. How about the forks to replace the 200 es big red. Does it have to be the 200m or would the 85 250 big red fit ok without major fab Thanks!
A buyers guide would be awesome.250 sx preferably
Good idea trey, thanks
Hello educational video thank you my father had that 350x my brother had a 200 X and I just got an 85 250 SX for free I’m in the process of getting it running. I needed tires to move it around. Just wondering I just bought the same exact rear tire you have on your sx for the front. Just wondering why you did not use that for the front also? 8-9?-23
Thanks for watching, I did not put those tires on my SX it came that way, One day I hope to put a narrow wheel and tire on the front of the SX for a more sport look and feel. but I agree, I like the wheels and tires to match.
@@mrcbuilds thank you for your opinion you obviously have good taste thank you for the memories. Wish we kept the 200x and 350x oh yeah, a couple friends had the big red also very fun machine and I had a 110 now that I remember damn see what happens when you watching old school. Very cool video you start remembering. Lol thank you again enjoy your trikes. I subscribed I’m going to follow.
@@mrcbuilds hello again just to say I research tires a long time for the SX very difficult to find three matching with the different sizes I bought ITP mud lite 22-11-8 front and I’ll order the same, but a 20-10-9 rears when I’m ready best looking tire I could find for all three wheels. Hopefully that helps when you’re ready for tires good luck enjoy and thanks again I’m Bryan by the way north jersey
87 was the last year. The same year trikes get banned
Yes in the US, Europe and other countries had 3 wheelers up in till 88
2200 for the big red seems really cheap by now a days standard. Would that have been considered an expensive bike back in 1987?
Yes
According to some rough inflation, calculator’s it’s about six grand today
@@tylerbraegelmann8548 yeah I was thinking it was around that sort of price, the big reds aren’t toys, It’s funny you in the UK they seem to be outlasting the new atvs 2000 and upwards
@@tazz3220 well, they’re made in Japan, not China. And the people who still ride them are passionate and take care of them.
Great video. There's nothing like those bikes anymore. I had a 85 250 Big Red back when I was teenager, loved going riding on trails with a group of people. Neighbor had a blue 83 110, the man that I got my Big Red from had an 85 and a 86 350x, I'd go riding with him and his wife , they were awesome machines. Boy not far from me had a 85 125m, lots of fun back then.
I grew up riding a friends blue 110, little tanks for sure. Thanks for supporting the channel.
Love your videos thank you for all the knowledge
My pleasure!
The SL above neutral under 1st stands for Super Low
That babies tail is up and wagging, shes happy to be around you. Great content, I picked up a few 200x bikes (gen 1 and 2) recently and after hitting the trails harder and harder. I'm keeping the 86 200x and moving up to a 350x. Not sure about the 250R as its sandy and rougher logging roads around here. The 250R might not agree with the terrain.
Great testament to Honda's engineering as to how many bikes are still around. It's kinda futuristic how you sit in the 350x as the seat was low and the tank sat up so tall
Hey Joe, yep Chloe is a great dog. She is always intrested in what I'm doing. As for Honda yes it's amazing they really stand the test of time. Great machines. Thanks for watching and subscribing to the channel
Year I was born!
It was a great year
Great info. Keep it up..
We will!
What HONDA BIG RED...EVERYONE HAD A HONDA..HONDA RULES..YAMAHA TRI MOTO WAS ALSO A COOL 3 WHEELER..PS THE BEST WAS THE 250 R
Yes, the 80s were a wonderful time to be alive and on a atc. Thanks for watching and subscribing
Had all three love them all honda is the best imo sweet trikes man.
I agree, Thanks for watching!
The 350 x is a beast the powerband to me was flawless it always had more power than needed to get through just about any terrains. I had a 250sx and loved it and also tri z 250 and 250r and all of them are incredible but 350x was my favorite
I had the 350x before the 250r, I will have to say the 350x is more predictable when the power comes on, but the punch of the 2-stroke has won me over for now, I have the 350x on the bench, and we will do a comparison video asap between the two.
@@mrcbuilds so true nothing like a 2 stroker
What front tire is that ?
Which bike?
@@mrcbuilds the 350x
@@duckworthatvandmxadventure6601 I believe that's a kenda bear claw front.

If you could only have 1 which 1 would it be 250ES or 250SX???
Have you been talking to my wife? That's crazy talk, just one.....lol... I would pick the 250Sx with a optional rear rack, hands down.
Hahaha No sir I have not. Lol.
I have a 200 M A 70 As well. There's 250SX And A250 Big red For sale in my area But I cannot afford them both right now I was just wondering which one should I get For now lol. Thank you very much For your advice I will go with the 250SX
SX
Awesome bikes man. Keep them, and enjoy them! Have several my self and I ride them when ever it is nice out!
Thanks for watching Pat, Yes I enjoy them, but I am starting to run out of room for them all. May be I need a bigger shop.😀
@@mrcbuilds yes a bigger shop would solve the problem!
Good stuff, Bro. Thanks for sharing! Would love to see a buyer's guide video.
