  • The average vehicle has only an 11.8 percent chance of lasting 250,000 miles, but the latest iSeeCars.com study identified the 23 longest-lasting models most likely to reach a quarter million miles or more.
iSeeCars.com established its industry-leading Longest-Lasting Cars study in 2013. This tenth anniversary study analyzed over 260 million cars sold between 2012 and 2022 to determine which cars were most likely to survive to high mileages. Trucks dominate the longest-lasting list, taking up 10 spots, while Toyota is the most prominent brand, with 8 models on the list. The most durable model, the Ford F-350 Super Duty, has a 49.1 percent chance of reaching 250,000-plus miles.
“Vehicle lifespans continue to grow, with more than 20 cars now having a 20 percent or better chance of lasting at least a quarter million miles,” said iSeeCars.com Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “For most of the automobile’s history, 100,000 miles was considered the maximum usable lifespan. Over the past 30 years we’ve watched an increasing number of cars reach 200,000-plus miles, and for our tenth Longest-Lasting Cars Study we’ve expanded our analysis to predict which vehicles have the greatest likelihood of reaching 250,000 miles or more.”

I can prove why Chrysler is number one! I bought a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country new with the no longer available MOPAR Lifetime Maximum Warranty. Currently, $16,000+ in warranty work. Next week it’s going to the local CJDR dealer because the Park Assist stopped working. Probably another $1K in repair cost.
Just to reminisce, in 2014 the dealer had six new Town & Country’s on the lot with MSRP of over $38,000 each and an $8,000 discount. “The Good Old Days”

They need to make a distinction between the previous generation Tundras and the current generation that is coasting on the reputation made by the old V8 powered ones.

The current gen has 50% odds of making it to 50k miles.

I had a CRV that had 250K and never had a problem, then traded it in for a Honda Pilot which was 7 years old and had 160k on it when someone T-boned me and they gave me $15,000 for it from insurance. I believe in Honda if you have cars you want to drive forever!

The current Tundra is experiencing main bearing failures within 10,000 miles. The previous Tundra with the v8’s was a legend. The 3.4 turbos are not living up to that thus far.

Those reliability #’s apply to the previous 2 generations of Tundra, definitely not this current generation.
