Still glad to see this ole' girl still going after so many years. That blower ain't even cooked tho, that thing is BROILED. CHAR BROILED... Amazing video though, and I'm super happy you were able to record this thing!
Nice video of this legendary siren! I was out getting the ambience of the Greenfield park P-50 which acually did both alert and attack this time! I figured this was likely its last test on the system before it gets replaced. I was actually surprised that it didn't get replaced by now considering the project started back in early July.
Thank you! We actually only really rushed up here because apparently they're replacing from north to south, if that's true I'm not 100% sure of, though.
Another amazing video of this legendary beast! I can definetely hear the blower slowing down and the siren getting quieter. I hope it's able to be fixed!
I heard this both up close and from the parking lot across the street when I recorded it back in June, it seems to project sound outwards more than other ACA sirens because it felt louder in the parking lot than from underneath.
Thunderbolt sirens are the same way. The only intake they have is through the standpipe to the blower. Those long horns make a difference, otherwise if it did have its own intake including a shorter horn like the 2001 for example, it sounds similar to about the volume. May that be a reminder that it is a rotating siren and that the siren is supposed to project the sound outward in the direction its facing. The furthest the siren is away from you, the further the sound waves travel to your ears.
This siren still runs as it should but its not looking very good.. it's rough, about to die, and even Milwaukee gave up on it as I've heard from some people they're planning to just let this siren die and install a much more modern siren in it's place. This is the last one in history.. I hope to God they fix this thing up despite it's rough status.
Woah hold up, I heard from someone that this siren was part of a separate project that would potentially involve it receiving a thunderbolt blower. Now they are just gonna let this legendary siren fall into disrepair??? I hope they dont do that! Id say someone from SWS comes out and confirms everything about this project so all the rumors can stop creating confusion.
@@zachzebra56 From what I've known so far, that ASC is going to spare this siren from the replacement of the country's siren system, because they are aware that this is the last functioning hurricane130 left. Altough... not sure how long that'll last, considering the blower which is just screaming for refurb.
@@thechannelofrandomvideos789 If it gets replaced, most likely someone either gets it, or they'll keep it in the storage. For now, let's just enjoy that it's still up
It was pretty loud, but not crazy. It got noticeably quieter as it was running. The last time it faced us, it honestly felt quieter than an average Thunderbolt.
@@GunnarWuollet That is the radio for the siren, so it can be activated via activation signal sent by the Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management during Tornado Warnings and monthly siren tests.
@GunnarWuollet It was activated the same way, just with an older version of that radio. They took the old radio off and upgraded it with the one that's now on that siren to assure it activates every time an activation signal is sent out for the siren

I'm not sure how the translation makes it think you said it the opposite way

Very surprised that siren is still there with it's issues. Nice video!
Nice shots!!!!
If my car hadn't had a flat tire yesterday, I'd have gotten the ACA Mobil Directo in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that day.
The Spinning Trumpet THE ALL MIGHTY ACA HURRICANE 130 MKII
Lol, spining trumpet.
Nice, also is this a rare siren?
Indeed it is. This is the last Hurricane siren in service in the world.
And it likely won't be that way for long
At this rate, if they don’t Fix the Blower or give it a 5M this thing will get Removed from 2025-2026.
@@CentralOHSirenswow, that’s insane. Nice capture!

Love seeing new videos of this siren, one of my other all time favorites!

Nice!! Went to whitefish bay with a couple of friends and it failed seem to be like most of the sirens near us failed aswell
I heard about that. That's crazy, because I was actually gonna have my driver drop me off in Whitefish Bay, but I'm glad I didn't lol
I remember recording this a year or 2 ago. Still going strong but that blower is not keeping up
